We recently decided to give CP's Pizza a try after seeing a flyer at Untold Taproom promoting an appearance by former Patriots player Ty Law. Intrigued, we headed over and found a table on the outdoor patio with our dog, eager to enjoy what we hoped would be a pleasant evening.
Unfortunately, the experience went downhill quickly.
Upon arrival, we went inside to order. While the young woman at the front desk was polite, it was clear she was new and lacked support. There was a significant delay just to place our order, and no payment was taken at the time. I had to return later to open a tab.
My pizza arrived in a reasonable timeframe, but my girlfriend's food never showed. Nearly an hour passed before she went to check, only to be told that her dish had been "sitting on the warmer for quite some time." Unsurprisingly, it was cold. When she brought it back, instead of preparing a new meal, the manager casually offered to reheat it -- a subpar response in any restaurant setting. While the item was removed from our bill, the manager showed little concern or accountability.
The atmosphere, while casual and accompanied by live music, was disrupted by a lack of crowd management. A sign behind the bar stated a "max limit 4 drinks," but several patrons were clearly intoxicated. One individual even stepped on our dog's tail deliberately and laughed before walking away -- an incident that left us stunned and uncomfortable.
Adding to the disappointment, Ty Law never appeared. No staff member communicated the change, which felt misleading given that his appearance was a major reason we visited.
As we were preparing to leave, my girlfriend went to use the restroom. The locking mechanism was ineffective, relying on a "knock before entering" sign instead of a secure lock. Someone barged in while she was inside -- a distressing and humiliating experience that unfolded in full view of the staff. She left the bathroom in tears.
When I informed the manager, his response was completely lacking in empathy. His words -- "WELL WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO?!" -- were spoken with visible frustration and zero professionalism. I asked for our bill to be comped, which he reluctantly did before asking us to leave.
This visit was deeply disappointing. Between poor service, a distressing restroom incident, lack of crowd control, and a manager unfit to handle customer concerns, it's safe to say we won't be returning. CP's Pizza may cater to local regulars, but if this is how they treat new customers, I don't expect they'll sustain long-term success. read more
