Suzanne is a very professional, but very realistic instructor. She runs the class efficiently and knowledgeably. She uses real life experiences to explain a point. This class Is the best ACLS class that I've had in 20 years! It's taught by a ICU nurse [or maybe she's a nurse practitioner who is a truly gifted teacher. Just took my ACLS refresher with Frank. I just love how this company makes you feel so comfortable and relaxed with the material. In healthcare, we are taught high-skill concepts with fear and anxiety. Not at CPR World. They take the fear and anxiety out and with that you can actually learn the concepts. Just such a great experience. I could take this class for free at work, but I'd rather pay to come here since you actually understand the material. This is my 7th time at CPR World. The hospital I work for offers the same classes on campus but I'd rather drive 45 minutes and attend them at CPR World. I just renewed my BLS certification and The whole process could not have been more stress free and informative. I accidentally spelled my name wrong ( I know, how'd I manage that) on the website when registering and Suzanne responded promptly and kindly for a pretty embarrassing mistake. Suzanne is a sweetheart and so knowledgeable with her background of being an ICU nurse. She makes sure you truly understand the material and are comfortable from start to end. For starters when it comes to reviews I'm normally lazy but what motivates me to do a review is extraordinary service or just the opposite. This review was definitely motivated by terrible service from Suzanne. This is my experience with Suzanne who sent me an email indicating that we have an conflict of interest and we don't match . And because of that she inform me that I should not take the class anymore. And this is from me attending the class, participating and completing my task quickly, with test grades of 96% and 100%. For starters I did arrive late to the class and called to see if I can still come since I'm running late. She told me that's fine since I was only 20 minutes late. Basically the moral of the story if your BLACK and don't match with her don't attend the class. read more

Highly recommended if you need CPR Training! I took the First Aid/CPR/AED course and she was excellent. Suzanne was a great instructor, very knowledgeable and engaging. She is very informative and made the information easy to learn. The class was about 8 people, which allowed for more individual attention. I had never heard of CPR world before, so I didn't know what to expect when I signed up. I truly feel so lucky that I found it and was able to claim the last spot in this class, which fit my time frame for getting PALS certified before applying to my graduate program. I can't say enough great things about Suzanne- she is incredibly smart, experienced, and makes sure she teaches these life saving measures in a completely stress free environment. This is a great place to go for CPR training. Exceptionally friendly and supportive environment, and the instructor - EMT by training I believe - was somewhat of an understated genius. This is my third time at CPR World for ACLS re-cert x 2 and BLS re-cert x 2. Suzanne Belanger and her team are outstanding. The classes are well organized. Materials provided are useful. And the mannequins, breathing devices, AEDs, and different models of defibrillators are available for everyone in the class to use during skill's testing and questions are readily answered. I have been certified in BLS and ACLS for at least 15 years and this is the most informative and relaxed environment that I have been in without the education piece being compromised. Awful experience - not worth the money. Carney Hospital offers the same thing for less, is more accessible to the city, and the people who run it are much friendlier. would highly suggest going elsewhere. Wow, I learned more from Suzanne in a BLS Skills test than I have ever before in 20 years of certification. She is obviously very knowledgable, is a great teacher and, most importantly, encourages analytical thinking during an emergency. I'm planning on signing up for the ACLS class there, which I had planned to do on my own. I know taking the class from Suzanne I will learn so much more. I've taken 6 classes at CPR World during my career from CNA to RN to NP. My employer does offer PALS classes but I always choose to make the drive to take class here. It is an extremely comfortable learning environment and the teachers are excellent (I've had Suzanne every time except one, and Frank for one of my PALS recerts). I went there for first aid/CPR training course. The instructor was a former nurse who knew her stuff. But for the 4 hour class, we focused on CPR for 3.5 hours. The first aid portion (15 minutes at the end) we were given a handout and the material glossed over. Was disappointed with this aspect. So for CPR it was informative, first aid, not so much. read more

I have taken this course in the past and just recently got my BLS and ACLS renewed. The class and instructor are great and I really learned a lot. The environment is stress free and the instructor makes you feel very comfortable. It's not one of those classes where you're nervous the whole time. Everyone works as a team and it's actually pretty fun! She also orders Bertucci's and has a big snack room. Despite hearing good things about the classes at CPR World, I had quite the different experience in trying to sign up for one of the ACLS courses. Prior to registration, I inquired about the refund policy of the $295 ACLS course fee because there was a SLIGHT chance that I would be unable to attend the scheduled course after paying the fee. I found the whole ordeal to be far from the "stress free" experience that other reviewers have raved about with Suzanne the owner. In fact I found the whole situation to be EXTREMELY stressful and unprofessional... so stressful that I ultimately, I made the decision to seek taking the course elsewhere. read more

Hands down there is no better way you can take ACLS or BLS. Its that simple. It's a "NO FEAR" scenario because you are there to learn and be successful. That is exactly what you do! Never in my life have I been treated with such disrespect. A few weeks ago I was scheduled to attend what would have been my 5th class at CPR World. Unfortunately in the middle of the night prior to class I began vomiting with a stomach bug. At 5:45am a voicemail was left to notify Suzanne of the situation and that obviously I would not be able to attend. In my message I acknowledged her refund policy and stated that I was not expecting a refund but was wondering if given the situation I was hoping I could reschedule. That same morning I received a phone call from Suzanne herself that made my head spin. She spoke to me with such hate and disgust in her voice. Telling me how awful I was for canceling like this, and that I had left another nurse unable to attend class by taking up a spot. When asked if she felt it would be a better situation to attend a class while actively vomiting she continued to focus on berating me for canceling rather than acknowledging that my question. Let me make it clear that I had previously attended 4 classes with this woman. She would continue to speak to me as though I was some social deviant who goes around signing up for classes and canceling last minute as some sort of game. About 20 minuets after I called back and spoke with her assistant who acknowledged my frustration with situation and stated she had already refunded my money. I stated again that although I appreciated the refund it was not my intention and that if possible I was hoping to simply enroll in another class. She told me she would pass this on to Suzanne and someone would get back to me, I never heard anything further from anyone at CPR World. That same day I sent an email hoping to at the very least illicit an apology, again I have heard nothing. As a professional I am left stunned. If you're reading this as someone who has previously met Suzanne I know you're thinking this is not possible. Trust me, prior to this experience I would have agreed. Never as an adult have I been treated with such hatred, disrespect, and utter disregard for basic human decency. read more

might be good for CPR but has no empathy for her students. She said at midnight she had waiting list of 2 people and stated she had 16 spaces. Read info and says only 8 spots. Was disrespectful and yelling at someone she does not even know. Makes wrong assumptions about people she does not know. Calls people derogatory names like "lovey" rather than respecting them as an individual. She also hung up on me when I asked her to please not yell at me and call me "lovey" as she does not even know me and what kind of person I am. Probably much kinder than she is.Just because you own a company there is no reason to treat people in a rude manner. No one wants anyone in healthcare to treat them this way. As another reviewee says, she causes high stress in people and is unprofessional. Sad that a healthcare provider would behave in this manner. There is more to teaching than just giving people the information. Yelling and using derogatory names is certainly not one of them. Sorry that this person would not even negotiate me taking it at a later date To think that your life or a family member is under her care is somewhat scary and truly sad. No one wants to be treated like this.Better to take a class from a kinder person who doesn't make unnecessary assumptions about who you are by a phone call or hangs up on you.
