I should have wrote this a long time ago. But it's exceptionally true to my nature to be "better…read morelate than never". So on my 1 year anniversary of graduating from Mansfield, here it goes... I started my journey with Mansfield when I was 17 years old. I graduated when I was 34. To no fault but that of my own. Life throws curve balls, and I was hit with many. Janice and the staff at Mansfield NEVER gave up on me. I am eternally grateful for their constant support and encouragement to finish the program. I was not an easy student. With the years of experience the staff here has, they had the ability to work with me and help me achieve my dreams. I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking for education in cosmetology, especially passing your boards. Cosmetology school is designed for just that, and this is Mansfield's mission. Thank you Janice and Karen for sticking by my side and never giving up on me.

Simply calling to obtain services is an ordeal. OK, I called to get their website address so I…read morecould check their prices and schedule....and was told that they are still working on it!?!? All right, next I asked about their hours; they are as follows: MTW 10-11 a.m., Thurs/F 9-11 a.m., M/F 1-2:30 p.m., M/Thurs 5-7 p.m. Got it? I was almost afraid to ask the next question: Do you braid, twist, or work on natural non-caucasian hair? The "instructor" almost choked. She responded that Mansfield is a "basic" beauty school.....uhhh yeah, and so what exactly does that mean? While she was stuttering I ended her misery and told her that she had answered my question and that I'd pass on the information she'd so eloquently provided regarding their "limited technological prowess, hours, and cosmetology options" to my acqaintances, friends, and family.

Student sprayed them, grabbed the scissors and in one fell swoop cut OFF my bangs!! Two inches ABOVE the eyebrows - I look like a fool. It will take until November for my bangs to grow back. The manager came over and tried to "fix" it, and the student apologized, but the hair had already been cut off. It looks like a child who played "hairdresser" with a friend and it went left. Never going back again. If only he had had the manager do the bang trim, or did it a little at a time. My boyfriend laughed that they "butchered" me.

The student Josh was just chatting with another person without attending to the customers. At 10:15AM, a customer who was after me in the list got called first. At 10:25AM, I followed-up who would attend to me. The Instructor Sandra condescendingly told me that if I can't wait then I could go. As an instructor, she is not teaching the student barbers the proper professionalism. She was very unprofessional and rude unlike the other male instructors who instill discipline to the students. She thinks that a business will survive if customers are pushed away. Josh was rude in calling me up next. Yet, Sandra thinks that is an acceptable behavior. The school should think if it is in their best inters to keep an instructor like that or to have customers walk away. When I left, the queue was getting long because Josh was practically sitting without coordinating the students. I guess he felt that he didn't need to do much because he arrogantly said that he was graduating. Good! Then he would know that his business or employment would fail with such a poor customer service skills. Who would like a newbie barber who is a prick and thinks he is above customers. He would learn a good lesson that the customers pay his earnings. You don't earn WITHOUT customers!

I would choose this school time and again due to their outstanding quality. They are fairly priced and you get so much more than just music you get professionals and a musical education that your child will carry with them forever.

I wanted to secure private lessons and his school seemed perfect, offering 20 min privates. I was "yes'd" during the orientation process and explicitly said that I was not interested in anything zoom related or group. Simply targeting 20 min privates and happy to pay. My payment info was taken from me and we attended two group lessons after the main instructor conducted an evaluation on zoom (even though i was told this would be in person) and insisted that my son should be in group. Group was fine- we didn't get much out of this. Following Xmas break, i reviewed my banking statement and saw that i had 2 109 dollar charges in one month (we went to the school twice for 20 min group lessons). Solid mark up! I disputed the charges and had a conversation with the director of the school where she told me that i would not be charged until we re-review my son and find a private option that's not zoom. Since the school went to zoom lessons and because my son is young and won't get much from zoom sessions, we opted to wait out the "covid season." Just saw that I was charged 109 dollars again.. so that's $350 dollars for 2 20 min group music sessions. Lesson learned on my end.. pay as you go is the only option moving forward. I have since disputed all charges with my bank and will re-visit at home privates down the line. I am sure this is a wonderful school for kids who are older and engaged in music but my personal experience as a parent requesting a simple private and consistent unauthorized charges was not ideal .
