This review is for the student clinic. I visited the student clinic for a seaweed wrap service. My student clinician's name was Thiara, and she was wonderful. My service was unbelievably relaxing. She truly did an amazing job and checked on how I'm feeling throughout the service. I felt so babied and loved and my skin felt amazing after. Spa Tech is a legit, professional school, well-managed and run! My family has been going there for massage therapy treatments since before COVID and we have never had a bad experience. Last night I saw Melissa. She was outstanding: professional, punctual, personable, patient, and prideful. Her touch/technique were outstanding and willingness to please was memorable. Plus, she was very pleasant to converse with. Melissa is a serious student who has toiled at her craft as she pursues her professional goals. Recent graduate and would do it all over again. Going back to school at 49 yrs old was intimidating and exciting all at once...but the staff at SpaTech and my fellow classmates were amazing! The program is set up to ensure that you are successful and have the tools you need to have a successful career. This is the AliExpress of spa schools ever from a student point of view AND client. This place is filthy.. actually makes coronavirus look like a joke. They put these moldy towels on your face when switching to products that has had 100+ fingers dipped inside of it.. I could go on but the sanitation is nonexistent. From student point of view, you learn nothing. Nothing. All my teachers had graduated and we're 3-6 months on the job. They googled everything. They treat you like a dog & have no idea how to teach. How sad considering this kind of school is a turning point type of decision for most people just to have them spit in your face. Save yourself the heartache and diseases. read more

I am going to start off by saying that I started this position with high hopes of it being a great environment. I was a lead instructor at Spatech Institute for six weeks. Right from the start, shadowing my first class, the students complained how unorganized it is. They added that they had poor training. The complaints were constant and brought down my morale real fast. Didn't take long to figure out this place is unorganized and has poor training for instructors. Actually fend for yourself is more like it. Everyone around me scurrying not knowing what to do especially the majority of instructors who are new. You definitely do not have the support of management because they don't know what they're doing. Their job is to get people in the door, and after that it turns into a circus. Completely unorganized and it's embarrassing. This makes your job 100 times harder when you're not supported properly. THERE IS NO TRAINING. I feel bad for the new instructors and for the students. Tom is your typical car salesman. Condescending, patronizing, and will yes you to death to make you feel like he cares. He has no clue about the beauty field or what instructors need to have for support before they start teaching. The owners are aloof also. They do not care and are fine with hiring people fresh out of the program with no work experience. You cannot teach until you have proper tools. "Use the teacher notes" is good enough to them. They will throw you right in and if it goes wrong it is not on them. They make it okay for the students to run ship and complain when teachers are unprepared, belittling the instructor's knowledge and experience. Now that Tom has cameras he enjoys watching the women as they go through the school even while sitting at home. But never ever did he ask if things were okay when he was in the building? Feels very violating he never cared what was going on before the cameras like what happened to me two weeks ago where I had to protect myself and students. Not one time did he offer to find out who this person was and to protect the school by getting a no trespassing order on this man. Brushes it off. These girls leave the school late at night and he could care less if it's one girl or 5 that are leaving into an empty parking lot not well lit and nothing around that's open. Anybody could come in at any time and hide in one of the front classrooms while the girls are in class. Not a concern to him the cameras were put in because of theft not because of security. As a business there should be someone at the front desk up until the students leave at 10 pm knowing classes are held in the back of the building and the door remains unlocked for public clients who come in and out for services until 9 pm. Tom does not care. Assistant Director also not trained well to train others. The things I witnessed during my short time there are ridiculous. I left after six weeks to save myself from unnecessary stress and I knew this place would never change. I would not recommend working here and I certainly wouldn't recommend going to school here. I would consider places like Catherine Hinds or Elizabeth Grady. Take the further drive. I have been an Aesthetician for 26 years and have never seen something like this. I tried to give 0 stars but it wouldn't let me. Something that was supposed to be positive was so terribly negative. Glad I left when I did. read more

My advice is go somewhere else. Your better off going to Cosmix in malborough. School leaders have no morals and treat students horribly. parts of curriculum are missed. The only pro of this place is some of the wonderful teachers. read more

I am so blessed to have gone to Spa Tech for not only building a career for myself and a brighter future for my daughter and I. I created lifelong friendships with 8 AMAZING women. I cannot recommend their massage or bodywork school in it's current state. I recently took part of their program for continuing education. I had been looking forward to this course for years to enrich my practice. when the dates aligned with my schedule I jumped to attend. The techniques are advanced by their nature. One instructor had recently graduated their full program and had basically zero experience. The other was not equipped to teach, unprepared, uninspiring, and had recently been cut from teaching another class. We were merged with another class twice, a subject that I am very experienced in and the teachers were both unprepared and giving total misinformation. The school has their policies down and crosses their t's and dots their i's to maintain their legal requirements. They hold students more to the required hours than they are concerned with the quality of education they are delivering. I got maybe 15% of what I expected from the program at a great cost. The field of massage and bodywork deserves better. Students deserve better. read more

(DISCLOSURE: This place only has 4.5 stars due to the clients reviews not students) Don't waste your time or money on trying to get an education here, because you will not receive one. Coming from a student's point of view, this was the single most abhorrent excuse for a school. There is no organization, if you ask a question most of the teachers will have to google the answer. I have also overheard that a student (an adult) was told by a teacher to sit in the corner during class because the student did not have white socks on and they would "throw off the energy in the room." If you are looking to go into the Holistic or therapeutic massage program, admissions cannot give you a detailed description on the energy work portion of the program, or the actual program in its entirety. I have met with the founder of the school and she openly (almost proudly) admitted to opening the school on a whim, as in, she just decided one day that she wanted to open a school. This person had written most of the "textbooks" that we received, leaving out information, leaving in misinformation, as well as a plethora of grammatical and spelling errors. This institution really does show that it was an impulsive decision. There are so few teachers that they have to cancel classes while students are present. This results in people having to make up hours on their days off or work days. I have even heard someone lost their job because they had to make up so many hours due to the toilets flooding and last minute class cancellations. So obviously our money isn't going towards teachers, textbooks or the building itself...where is our money going? No one knows. People have threatened several times to get lawyers involved. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time and money on this place. You will get a much better learning experience elsewhere. --- A discouraged student that just wants their money back. read more
