I experienced sexual harassment by the massage therapy instructor of the program. It affected me mentally and physically throughout the program. Most of the students and staff knew this information and we felt very uncomfortable. The school facilities received the information about the assault and proceeded to bring me into a group meeting with the harasser (massage instructor) and the rest of the victims which was very nerve-wrecking. Then they proceeded to do nothing with this information except tell students to have more than one person in the room when the teacher wants to teach something or when massaging the teacher. I went to the police to make a report but they said the instructor have the right to say no to an investigation but it would be more beneficial for me if the rest of the victims also shared their experiences in a report, but my most of my classmates were Thai without a green card, or in process if obtaining one and don't want problems, even though the police and I reassured them that it isn't a problem. I have no one to support me because the other victims/ my friends from massage therapy class won't report him. I have no choice but to finish the whole entire program with the feeling of depression, and being stared down upon.

I started my journey with Mansfield when I was 17 years old. I graduated when I was 34. To no fault but that of my own. Life throws curve balls, and I was hit with many. Janice and the staff at Mansfield NEVER gave up on me. I am eternally grateful for their constant support and encouragement to finish the program. I was not an easy student. With the years of experience the staff here has, they had the ability to work with me and help me achieve my dreams. I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking for education in cosmetology, especially passing your boards. Cosmetology school is designed for just that, and this is Mansfield's mission. I was almost afraid to ask the next question: Do you braid, twist, or work on natural non-caucasian hair? The "instructor" almost choked. She responded that Mansfield is a "basic" beauty school.....uhhh yeah, and so what exactly does that mean? While she was stuttering I ended her misery and told her that she had answered my question and that I'd pass on the information she'd so eloquently provided regarding their "limited technological prowess, hours, and cosmetology options" to my acqaintances, friends, and family.

Special shout out to my instructor Crystal . If you get the opportunity to meet this amazing woman, you will really do well. Such a great instructor and person. They are very laid back about hours, you can still live a life, work, travel and not worry about random fees for missed hours. You kinda make your own schedule which is very important. This school offers a program where you can get school hours working at a salon and that really speeds up the process. Curriculum might be kinda confusing because it's open enrollment and everyone is at a different level of knowledge, but your classmates will always help you out.
