Thermostat was only a year old, but how can you prove it worked, you have to trust the technician especially when there's no air conditioning and you just want it running. While out checking the unit he noticed a corner bent and started telling her a stupid scenario of a dog rubbing up on the unit and peed all over it and to get it cleaned out it would be somewhere over $1,000. Come on, what lengths of lies you sales people go to. I told her to stay away from you guys and would recommend someone else. I would not recommend Anderson at all. It's hard to find honest heating and cooling technicians. Anderson is not one of them.

I can look at the part online and they are wanting to charge double, plus $500 for roughly the same labor that they just spent doing for a $65 service fee. Their assessments are above quick concise and easy to understand. Their scheduling is the best in the business and their customer service is what I strive for in my own business. Daniel the service technician opened the unit up and tested everything. He took the time to explain what he was doing and why. He discovered a bare wire that had been chewed (possibly by a mouse) and was touching the metal housing which tripped the circuit breaker. Daniel replaced the wire and the unit is working perfectly. I was told the diagnostic would cost $149. I asked to be informed of any repairs that had to be done. Technician checked the system and recommended replacing unit. We discussed replacement unit and cost. I was ready to pay deposit. In the next 10 minutes I was told that the model I selected is old and not available. New model costs $1000 more. I asked for a proposal to decide later. Technician told me that the visit costs $396. He said that he fixed air conditioner that was not working. He never told me that he is fixing anything. Through our the visit it looked like he was figuring out the problem. I talked to the owner and we agreed that any repairs that were done will be undone so that I do not have to pay for repairs. Then the technician removed all the wires from the board making both heat and fan unusable. He did not just undo the "repairs", but made entire system unusable including fan and heat which were working before his visit. See the photos to show what was done!

I called another company because I felt this was obviously poor service, maybe even a scam. Ans as I suspected it needed to be cleaned and a faulty sensor (a minor repair) was put in. And at a very reasonable price. I was left with the impression that I was being taken advantage by Charles McDuffee Co. or that an untrained or poorly trained person came. I will never use McDuffy for anything. EVER. Definitely the worst service repair I've ever experienced as a home owner for over 40 years!

All they were supposed to do was, just do it exactly as how the other boiler was set up. They took 5 visits to fix the simple wiring and slapped me with a $2,550 bill. First visit: 2 guys came and removed old wiring and installed new wiring. Obviously, they have no idea what to do. Complained about boiler transformer, thermostats, and new zone values and gave up and left. Second visit: They sent a different guy adjusted some wiring and left. Guess what, that only worked for one zone and others have no heat. Third visit: Came again and complained about thermostats installed by first visit guys and replaced them and left. No heat again in other apartments Forth visit: Same story....no heat Fifth visit: This time I was frustrated and told them explicitly, that your wiring was wrong and just followed how exactly was done in another boiler. Finally followed my directions and corrected the wiring. They were supposed to do it on day one in less than an hour. Basically, they had no clue how to fix it and still took the job. I have been telling from day one, that you guys are doing the wiring wrong. They completely ignored me and made 5 visits to fix a simple wiring. This boiler serves heat for 5 apartments. It means 25 calls to my tenants to test the heating. Boilers are pretty simple technology and they work flawlessly. Just to slap me with the bill, they changed unnecessarily so many things for the perfectly working boiler. I strongly suggest staying away from this company if you would like to protect your money and equipment. I regret hiring them based on Goolge's reviews. Hope this saves money and time for someone.
