They put safety first and are patient in explaining the mechanics and handling of firearms, (my younger of the two teens even cited the decibel range of a shot to one of the instructors when she asked why hearing protection must be worn). My son, daughter in law, and two teenage grandsons were attentive and picked up the basics of shooting and were able to apply their instructions on the range. I told my son it was a great investment in the instructions and safety for the family. Many current law enforcement officers come here and utilize this range. This is an FEC run outdoor recreational area…read more The range is well run and very well setup. They have a Range Safety Officer that controls the range. If are used to shooting I. The military you will recognize the way they run the range. Coming from a self policing range/club it took some getting used to and added a lot of time to out shooting of strings. You have to stop at the "pro shop" and watch a video and sign a waiver. One and done after that. Good for any FWC range in FL. They had targets, cleaning gear and ammo. They staff was very friendly and the cost was just under 13 dollars for all day. They had a rifle range also but we shot on the 7yd and 25yd pistol ranges. Protip. You can shoot any caliber pistol on the pistol ranges. We had pistol caliber carbines and another guy was shooting a 300AAC pistol. A nice facility that was very busy on a Friday.

I don't wear crazy pro-gun t-shirts and I don't belong to the NRA, but I do believe in protecting my family. To do that I need to be safe and proficient and that's where practice and gun ranges like these fine folks come in. This is an outdoor range which is significant in states with temperatures like Florida. In January and February, it's a great place to shoot. In the afternoons in July and August, not so much. That's why indoor ranges with AC are so popular here. The other issue is pistols or long guns and this place handles both. Lots of folks' love that! They are currently open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to the public. Other than temperature and open hours there is a lot to like here. They are priced right; around $15 for a day pass. Annual memberships are available which give you access every day of the week. The facilities are nice, and they often make improvements. The staff are friendly and proficient and incredibly safety conscious as they should be. They are family friendly as long as strict range safety is practiced. If you need to get some practice in without taking out a second mortgage, they would be a fine choice.

He made it easy for me to understand lol Then I had issues with my new firearm and asked him for help. The three men and the lady who work there were very helpful. I could go to Reload in Tarpon Springs which is more modern but they make you jump through hoops now for pistols after the suicide incident in 2016. I usually go to Shooting Sports in Tampa but they have become very crowded/busy in the last few years which is a good thing. I like Firing Line. You sign in, pay, go in. They do watch you and others while you're on the range. I plan to return again.

We are extremely disappointed and shocked by the treatment our service dog and us received during…read moreour most recent visit. We have been to this facility multiple times in the past with absolutely no issues. In fact, the gentleman at the counter has always had zero issues with our dog every single time we have visited. However, during this latest visit, the owners deliberately kicked us out of the building, despite our dog being a fully trained service animal.Our dog was perfectly behaved, wearing proper eye shields and hearing protection headphones, and was simply laying down minding his own business on the line. Ironically, their own website proudly features a dog wearing headphones and glasses, yet they refused to allow a trained service dog wearing the exact same protective gear to remain in the building.Denying entry and removing a legitimate, tasking service dog is a direct violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and is incredibly discriminatory. To be targeted and forced to leave after multiple hassle-free visits is completely unacceptable. We hope management takes the time to properly educate themselves on federal ADA regulations regarding service animals to ensure no other patron is subjected to this unlawful and degrading experience. We will not be returning unless this matter is resolved.
