Some friends and I went to shoot straight, the employees there were extremely helpful. The young lady behind the desk was very friendly. Ray stopped by just talked with us for a little while, I would highly recommend shoot straight in Lakeland. Their friendliness and knowledge has my vote. read more

This is a great store. Been here a few times , today being the last. Every time I go there the clerks are pleasant, knowledgeable and willing to assist. The management train its employees very well. Will be back! read more

It's a decent place to shoot. Just be careful when you go to cancel your membership. The website says that you can cancel your membership at any time. But that's not the case. I won't go back. read more

Best Gun shop in all of central Florida!! Recently purchased a Glock 43x from them and not only were they very friendly and accommodating, they have the best prices in the area, and gave me a more than fair price on the firearm I was looking to sell. 10/10 recommended and will be doing a lot more business with them in the future. Robert is the man! read more

Often times with chains the knowledge of the staff and their eagerness to serve the customers is somewhat lacking. You can find staff on their mobile devices instead of assisting the customers with their needs. This is NOT the case for this location. Staff was very attentive. I came in with an impossible list of equipment, and they had everything I needed. I was in and out within an hour. A big shout out to Jacob and many others whose names I can't recall. Thank you for all your help. I will continue to use your store for all my needs. read more

I recently purchased my first gun. Picked it up and had Wesley help me get familiar with my gun. Was a little nervous about shooting it for the first time. He was patient, knowledgeable and gave me the confidence to feel comfortable about shooting. He helped me with my posture and after the first magazine, I was more comfortable with shooting. My experience with the purchase and hands on help was excellent. I would recommend shoot straight for anyone who decides to purchase a firearm or use their facilities. Pretty typical chain gun shop. They have a wide selection of firearms and the staff there are knowledgable and friendly. Prices are on par with other gun shops in the area. Be prepared to pay heftily for a membership if you intend on renting a firearm for the range. You can bring your own. I recommend buying rounds elsewhere prior to your visit, as they are quite expensive at the range itself. The same can be said about targets. I don't mind spending a couple bucks here and there, but I can get 20 for about $3 just about anywhere else. Bring protective eyewear and over-the-ear bang bang quieters. Follow normal safety protocol as you would anywhere else. Unlike some other ranges in the area, you are NOT allowed to practice drawing here, don't try, you will be asked to leave (watched it happen). Overall, it's a typical gun store and a typical shooting range. They're a chain with a bunch of locations, check 'em out. read more

I called this store to see if they had the hellcat in FDE with the gear package. The gentleman on the phone said he was looking straight at it and confirmed they did. When I got there I started second guessing myself and the store associates didn't pressure me and just left me alone to point. I wound up getting the hey with the gear package AFTER Morgan (?) answered my questions regarding the pistol. She was calm, collected and very relatable. So if you see a small brunette, that is her. Hats off to her for her professionalism. This store will definitely continue to earn my business. read more

I was in town visiting my Marine buddy in Lakeland and we stopped by the gun store and I bought a box of 525 1022 Long rifle rounds for $52. I am looking at them right now at Walmart for $24. I feel so ripped off. I am very very angry. Very overpriced. read more

One of my favorite stores. People are knowledgeable and friendly and the range is well arranged and maintained. I don't care for it's location but it is an all around good store read more

Terrible experience at Lakeland store involving multiple misogynistic employees blatantly disregarding female customer. I came in and stood in line to buy gift cards. The cashier didn't acknowledge me after his prior customer left, so I approached him and said I needed to buy some gift cards. Instead of helping me, he yelled across the store at another employee to get some gift cards and proceeded to help the man in line behind me. After he helped that man, he proceeded to go out of his way to go find some ammo that person had asked about. Another cashier walked by, and said that he was too busy to help me. I was told that whoever was free next would help me. Neither of them did. Finally, a female cashier walked up and asked if she could help. I was immediately directed to her register and checked out quickly. When I thanked her for actually helping me, without being prompted she asked, "how many did you ask?" This is obviously not a one-time occurrence. There are so many simple things that could've been done to provide good customer service. Instead, I was treated like a second class citizen by everyone except one female employee. read more

Shoot Straight - My first pistol. Thanks - Gun/Rifle Ranges Near Me - Lakeland, Florida

Very clean, very large gun store with an indoor shooting range on the premises. Unfortunately you cannot shoot here without becoming a member, so it's not too feasible for out-of-towners. Though, honestly, why anyone would go anywhere else after visiting Tenoroc is beyond me. Counter help at Shoot Straight is friendly and willing to help with any selection. They seem to know their stock. There was a sales table set up with some nice deals on Sig Sauers (mostly P250's), as well as some Smiths, but the the prices on new, non-sales item guns are pretty steep. They want $689 for a Ruger Mark III Hunter .22. That typically sells for high $400's, low $500's. I did not compare every make/model they carry with my mental database of what things should cost, but that Ruger really threw me for a loop. I still think it's worth coming here to see what they have, but definitely shop around and know basic, acceptable pricing before plopping down hard-earned money. read more

Great group of people at this location. Very helpful with tips on shooting better. Family membership reduces costs on range fees if you shoot frequently. read more

As for a range it's too rule restricted, shoot more than once every couple seconds and you'll have a Bubba style character come shout "NO Rapid fire!" So, mostly I don't shoot here unless it's raining. Store is alright. read more

The staff get to know you and are always professional. The range is obviously limited by being indoors, but it is a nice range in my experience. Members get decent discounts and they almost always have a good enough price on guns that it's worth it to buy there instead of paying shipping and transfers for online purchases. ALWAYS check their website for sales before you pay! There is not an RSO present in the range, but it is monitored by an employee from outside directly and by video. If you are unsure of how to be safe using the range, just ask one of the helpful and professional staff. read more

This location is not the same as any other shoot straight. They have the buying power and accounts but not the same prices. The staff at this location is decent rating on skill and info. they have people that work, then they have people that sit on a stool and play games on their phones. range is normally always clean. it does have AC most of the time witch is a plus. They have pretty good stock except they have about zero remington 700 rifles don't understand that one. all in all if they weed out the guys that are there just for a check and get rid of cell phone games they will be doing okay. read more

Well, I have been a long time customer of Shoot Straight and was thrilled that they were coming to Lakeland. Up until, yesterday. Pros: Nice Facility, Decent Staff depending on who you get. Selection. Cons: Some staff unfortunately act as though unless you have military level knowledge your a waste of their time or simply stupid. Others, are willing to help you learn. Well known that if you want the priveledge to pay the highest possible price for anything (even when they have those sales) then this is your place. In fact, recently they had a "Closeout Clearance" table and even those prices were ridiculous. Tried to exchange (not return) a $500 light system. Before I can even finish my first sentence the manager said "Nope we never return anything electronic". I purchased it only a few days prior and the lense was screwed up. Long story short, it was defective and I could prove it. Shoot Straights own gunsmith mounted it. Nonetheless, they told me to contact manufacturers and see if they would help. Then they noticed I made original purchase in Brandon, and told me they were a franchise location and said even if they would exchange it I wold have to go to Brandon. They even told me that if someone DOES help me, that employee would likely be fired. Wow! OK, no biggie on that. But the "take a hike, you are SOL" was quite interesting given the thousandst and thousands I have knowingly paid a premium for products at shoot straight in the past. I did get it exchanged in Brandon, but they even briefly tried the "no returns" things with me. But I was better prepared and challenged them to show me any portion of their return policy which even hinted at such a thing regarding electronics. Then they knew they were no longer playing with a fool and caved in. Heres what I hate, they lied to me and had zero interest in even hearing what my challenge was. Pure and simple. They made up the electronics "policy" and if they didn't, then I suggest they post it plainly since when I bought it of course they were all "of course we will take care of you if anything is wrong". I'll still shoot at the gun range with my son but I simply do not trust them anymore and will NOT buy anything from them as a result. Really bums me out too. But this one was way over the top and left me certain that they must have an annoying abundance of customers and could care less if I err ca,e back so long as they adhere to their secret electronics policy. read more

I have shopped at Lakeland location in the past, but found other gun shops more suited to handle my needs and with better service. Unfortunately, both of my go to stores have owners who decided to retire and close up shop. I went back to the store to buy two guns that I wanted and the experience as a whole reminded me why I stopped going there years ago. The first purchase was a Glock 19 and there were no issues besides they did not have an armorer on site to install the night sights I purchased. I then inquired about a particular shotgun that I wanted and was told that they didn't stock that item and that they probably couldn't get it. I was then pointed to a semi-auto shotgun they had on sale and told it was basically the same gun with different stamping. I asked the employee to break the gun down since I was unfamiliar with the model and wanted to inspect the internal parts. The employee stated they had never broken one down and referred me to the owner's manual. I went home with the shotgun and attempted to break it down to inspect it. I found that two of the take down pins were so tight they could not be used without the assistance of tools. I decided to take it back with me the next day when I was getting the night sights installed. I showed the armorer the problem and he was able to get the pins out using and chisel point and hammer. I thought we were on the right track and had him continue to disassemble the shotgun. Things went fine until he hit the gas block assembly. The armorer worked on it for thirty minutes and tried various tools and oil in an attempt to remove the gas block. He finally admitted he was able to break it down any further and that the gas block had been overtightened at the factory. The suggestion was made that I used penetrating oil on it overnight and "it might work tomorrow". I pointed out that the shotgun was not of any use if it could not be broken down and properly cleaned. I was then told that the shotgun really didn't need to be broken down that far and it would still shoot. They refused to take the item back and issue a refund. I ended up having to trade the gun back to them for a third of what I paid the previous day. I think this store is fine if you are going in to buy a Glock, Smith & Wesson, or any other reputable handgun, but I would highly suggest you look other places for any specialty firearms or custom gunsmithing. read more

I made a firearm purchase here, and I live in a different state, where it can be difficult to have firearms shipped due to some odd local restrictions. Andrew provided excellent customer service all the way, and was able to help me get what I needed, at an incredibly low sale price too. Shipped out same day as purchased... doesn't get any better than this read more

Well horrible experience for first time buyers. Place was a zoo. Disorganized, not enough salespeople, basically like being at a crowded bar. Stood at counter with wife for almost 20 min no hi , no I'll be right with you, nothing. Basically was just going to leave but decided to just butt in and say hey can you help me? Salesman seemed annoyed, but did answer a few questions but definitely had to proactively ask questions, he offered little more than that. Not sure how they stay in business, most likely inventory, prices? Idk. I do know it's not there customer service. My advice is for first time buyers to go somewhere where the salesperson can actually take a few minutes to find out your experience and needs. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE! read more

I can't speak for all shops but this location has one individual working there by the name of Harper who acts like he's GODS gift to shoot straight and comes of as racist to me. I've had a couple of encounters with him and I'd rather not return here ever again. I wouldn't recommend this chain of gun ranges to any one in Florida or to any one in the country who visits Florida. I give them 2 stars only because they're knowledgeable and have a big inventory. They are overpriced though. They are in need of extreme customer service training. read more

I was working in Lakeland for a few weeks and decided to go shoot somewhere. Shoot Straight was a short drive from my Hotel, so I decided to give it a try. It was $15 to shoot with no membership requirement. The range is nice and was not very crowded. The personnel were very friendly and helpful. Just a group of gun guys helping fellow gun guys. The range rules were typical of any range I've ever been to. I even bought a set of Glock factory night sights for my G23 while I was there. The sights were priced within $10 of what I would expect to pay online. Installation was free and was completed while I waited and talked with the Gunsmith. Listed prices in the store were what one would expect to see in this type and size establishment. I will return the next time I'm in town. read more

This review is base on when this company came to the gun show here on the fair grounds in Miami. I got denied and non-approve when they check my background. I have a CCW and all my paper work in correctly but they the people from the store at the show did not check correctly with the people that give you a approve and non approve to buy the weapon and I got screw at the end. The show was pack and a lot of people there. But thats no excuse not to do your job correctly especially when it has to do with doing background check which it is critical. They told me I had to appeal which it is BS. I went to another place on Monday and I got approve on the spot because they took the time to do things right and I save some money on the gun at the same time. I am writing this review due to the action of the store on that day that I got screw from buying a gun. Thanks Shoot Straight.. read more

Great place to buy a gun the workers are vary knowledgeable and will help you pick the right gun for you .. but when it comes to the range there are some cool guys I've dealt with but for the most part there asses I don't know how to explain it but it's like there vary cocky and to good to ask a question or two , I live 5 min away and will go out my way to go somewhere else. read more

I can't put 0 stars or i would very poor customer service and rude employees. Will be dealing with Plant City gun shop for futyre purchases.

Very patient and helpful staff, my first gun and they were more than willing to educate me on the basics.

Employees are friendly, level of stock is good however the range is nothing short of UNSAFE. No dedicated RSO on range and people constantly carrying firearms from bench on back wall to firing line and back - slides forward so they are the only person on the line who has any clue if it's loaded or unloaded. Heaven forbid someone who isn't an employee say something in the interest of safety and you get a dirty look and instant dismissal that you don't work there and simply don't matter. Go to RELOAD in Tarpon Springs, Shooters World in Tampa or even Teneroc in Lakeland and RSOs are STANDARD. Wake up Shoot Straight - get safe and potentially save a LIFE! read more

Got a few guns here for descent prices. Bought both used and was very pleased.

I have been dealing with this store for about 5 years now, and have been treated like family since going there. The staff is always friendly, and the owner goes out of his way to say hello to me. I've had numerous transfer guns shipped there, and have always had all the paper work done accurately and professionally. The range area is clean, and I have never had anyone unsafe shooting in my presence. Why go anywhere else when I get this type of service? Will continue being a satisfied customer for as long as they are in business! read more

Took 10-min for the guy behind the counter to stop talking with a friend and help us would have been customers. Then he showed guns that were more than a hundred dollars higher in price that a store across town. If that wasn't bad enough he claimed the price on the gun was wrong and he couldn't sell it for that low of a price. LOW? The price was higher then I have priced it everywhere else and he said it was priced wrong, low. The other thing is I ask if they could give me a better deal as I was buying two guns, his answer was "sells people can't make deals and the manager isn't in". All I can say is WOW, no power, not sure of the price on the guns in the case, and still don't have time for the customers when friends come in... how do they stay open? I wouldn't have know better and would have payed for 2-guns if he had not give me the price was priced wrong bit... I'm glad they treated us like we weren't there because that made me look at other shops and fined much lower prices. read more
