The majority were very playful and made a great experience. The Playful room was younger cats / kittens and they also loved up to their names. The staff was great and spent time introducing the cats to and checking in. It was a GREAT experience and we will be back. *Disclaimer we work with a shelter in Montgomeryville and spend time every week socializing Ing cats. We also have 19 year old at home. So, we weren't interested in adopting BUT could def see making some of the cats here full time residents in our home!

The coffee selection was decent for a cat cafe with a big selection of flavor syrups to add to your drink. The little gift shop was fairly priced and had a lot of unique things. I loved the little black cat mascot, as we have a few furry voids at home. There was about 16 cats in the room when we went on a Saturday afternoon. You can tell they are well taken care of and that the staff cleans very frequently in there. With the 3 of us and the other family we had enough room that we didn't feel jammed in. There was one orange cutie that kept trying to knock my Niece's drink off the windowsill, and a precious long haired grey cat that claimed my husband's lap for the last half of the hour. We were given wet treat tubes to feed them which all the cats went nuts for and there were plenty of feather wands and toys for us to interact with the ones who wanted to play. The coal theme plays in perfectly to the area and the wagon appears to be the hang out area for the cats. It was a fun experience we plan to do again soon. It's a great cause (socializing and getting cats adopted) and the owner is obviously passionate about the mission.

Their goal is to find homes for these adorable felines and so far have placed 24 cats into forever homes in just three months. As Ron mentioned, you don't do this kind of business to get rich. I think it's more of a vocation. There is coffee and packaged treats available for sale. Not only that but a selection of T shirts, and fun toys for your favorite feline. The real stars here are the wonderful cats. I personally love how the owners tied in the Coal Region history into this modern forward thinking (in all the right ways) business. You will sign a waiver to enter (customary) the cat area. It is themed with all things Coal, like a mine decoration, pick axe and even a "coal wagon" delivery wagon (the cats seem to love it). We stopped by in passing but you may reserve time online. The number of people permitted is six maximum. The only other such cafe I knew of was in Philadelphia. I believe thanks to Covid and lockdowns that went under. The owners are enthusiastic about helping animals and customers visiting. There was only three people in my hour and two the next. The half hour sessions seem to be more popular with maybe a dozen people. I used to come here more often until I discovered Meow Parlour. It's much much cleaner and brighter and spacious. It doesn't bother me but Koneko cats tend to be older and less playful which may be not as fun for some guests. I find it calming to watch sleeping cats or just observing them roam around. Not sure when Koneko started offering drinks for all full hour bookings regardless of time. It used to be limited to their happy hour session which would end up being almost $30. This time, the drinks are included and a limited selection is included. Matcha, lattes, and mochas are $3 extra. I think it's fair. I got the oolong four season and was impressed with it. In general I don't expect a cat café to have good tasting food/drinks because the focus is on cats. I wonder if they cold brew all their teas because I saw the barista prepping batches of other teas. The long steeps can also explain why I think there's slight bitterness from the oolong, but it's very subtle. The oolong was refreshing and had an aftertaste and wouldn't taste diluted even with ice in it. Impressed.

Can't believe we didn't notice this place on the way to the bar, but perhaps their sandwich board wasn't out yet? Anyhoo, the hubby and I are crazy cat people so of course we had to go in. Apparently this is the first cat cafe in NYC! All the kitties are rescues and adoptable, and there was quite a crowd in the visiting room, visible through a window from the lobby. We were short on time so we didn't play with the kitties, but we chatted with one of the super-friendly staffers for a bit and bought some merch to support.
