I had a wonderful time. My kitty of 15 years recently crossed the rainbow bridge, and since I was in New York, I needed some "cat therapy". It's $30 to spend an hour with the cats (a little bit less on Wednesdays,) and they take reservations. Be advised that if you cancel your reservation less than 48 hours in advance, you do not get a refund. I showed up as a walk-in on a Friday just before noon, and they were able to take me in. However, there are no guarantees, but you could always call in advance. There are three areas to interact with the cats, an upstairs, a downstairs, and also an outdoor " catio." The day I was there, the. Catio was closed because of the weather, but I still had plenty of great interaction time with the other two rooms. The cats come and go as they please, and they also have their own separate area from where you interact with them, so there's no guarantee on how many cats you will have to interact with. The day I was there, there was not a large number of cats, but there was enough that I had some good times. They do not let you pick up the cats, but if the cat wants to jump up on you, that's more than fine. They provide toys to play with the cats, and in addition, I also downloaded a "cat toy" on my iPhone, that had things such as mice, and fish going across the screen. A few of the cats, found it fascinating, and we had a great time. The cats here are older kittys, so you may not get the energy of a kitten, but you will still have a wonderful time interacting with them. They all come from a local rescue, and they are all available for adoption. I had a wonderful time, and would gladly come back the next time I'm in town. Thank you.
LOVED it!!! Kitty heaven in downtown manhattan. They also have a cute cafe-Loved their pasteries and watermelon juice! They have different combos we took their happy hour. Which is perfect time(7-8pm) Because its close to Kitty meal time and they are most active in that hour lol. Their staff is super friendly! Kitties are cute and give very NYC vibe haha- Witnessed some really cute moments. Best for weekday dates.
For anyone who is earning to pet some cute kittens, definitely check out Koneko and be wowed. To visit, you just make a reservation before hand, and it normally last for 1 hour. There is an outer cafe section, which is just like any coffee shop with a variety of drink options, but only cuter. The inner section is separated for kitten petting sessions only. When you come in to the inner session, someone will help you to hang you coat, and store your shoes and bags. They also ask you to sanitize your hands. Inside, there are two floors, each have multiple cat beds or small shelters, with a few kittens rest and play. You are not allowed to pick them up, but can pet them gently and play with them. They are have quite different personalities!
Really great place. Cleanly, organized, and staff were very nice! Had a pretty decent selection of drinks to choose from and they bring your drinks to you once you're inside the area with the cats. All of the cats were so cute, highly recommend coming here if you're looking for something fun to do or just love cats like me
Wonderful wonderful wonderful. This is a Japanese-inspired cafe in the front with the cattery in the back. We made a reservation for the cattery at 11am and arrived a bit early to have breakfast. The cafe has super cute cat decor and a mix of Western pastries and Japanese snacks. We ordered Belgian waffles with fruit, a few pastries, and gyoza, as well as pretty typical coffees and teas. Everything was tasty. For the cattery, you swap your shoes for their slippers and leave your belongings by the entrance, but you can take your drinks in. There's an upper level and a lower level, as well as an outdoor catio. The cats were sooooo lovely. The attendant told us their names and answered our questions about the types of cats they were. One cat planted itself under my butt. Sweetheart. We're not local, but we keep up with the cats on Koneko's Instagram page. :')
Koneko was my first cat cafe experience in NY. My friend and I were able to snatch a last minute reservation for the HH experience. Clean and pleasant cafe with nice staff. For the price of $30, I was hoping for a bigger pour of prosecco. It was the tiniest plastic cup ever and no refill! As for the cats, they were adorbs! Majority of the older cats were just resting and sleeping but the kittens were so energetic and playful. I was trying to convince my friend to adopt one.
My friend and I wanted to see the cats so we booked the Kitty Brunch and arrived at 12 noon. The cats are all adorable and very personable and the woman overseeing us was very informative on the history of the cafe and the process of the cats finding homes. The chai tea and pork belly okonomiyaki were both delicious and a yummy end to our session. Whenever I am back in NYC I will come back and say hi to the kitties!

I love cats but don't own any pets, so I was looking forward to being able to relax and pet some kitties. We opted for the happy hour experience, which includes a drink. The cats were adorable, but most of them were sleepy and not in the mood to play. When the cat room is fully booked (which I assume it was when we were there), it can be hard to find a comfortable seat or a cat to give your attention to. The cat room is two floors, neither of which are particularly cozy, to be frank. Coming here did scratch a particular itch to go to a cat café. I can't say I'll ever come back to one.
Not in. the nicest neighborhood, but most cat cafes are on the outskirts--quiet cafes with teas and some food. The cats seemed to like the basement the most.
I love cats. I am a proud cat lady! Of course I have to visit a cat cafe in NYC after learning about it from my sister. So originally I thought this was a traditional cat cafe where you can dine & drink in the same room as the cats and play with them when appropriate. Your food purchase would count as your ticket to see the cat. This place functions a little different. The front of the store is the cafe which looks like a coffee shop and they have a good selection of food and drinks. At the back of the store, is a section of spaces reserved for the cats. To enter that area you would have to purchase entrance tickets ($20), with no requirements to buy food. One ticket grants you 1 hr of cat playtime. It made me happy seeing how comfortable and nicely taken care of these cats are! They take naps with their belly exposed. This place provides enough space for cats to freely roam around - 2 indoor spaces and 1 outdoor spaces. (And I think there are separate sections for the litter boxes that's not visible to public) Some cats might be more sensitive than the others so pick your choices carefully when approaching to pet them. I had a lot of fun visiting the cats although most of them aren't very interactive! I still highly recommend for a therapeutic cat session.
This is a nice cat Cafe a bit of a walk from Chinatown. The cat room at the back have three levels, with the middle level being an open air catio. Most of the kitties enjoy being pet and are very mellow, which makes me wonder if they only screen certain cats to be placed in the cafe. We came at 11am and all the cats are lounging around or sleeping and they seem comfortable with people and aren't afraid when people approach. It was a very relaxing experience and I hope that people who are thinking of adopting cats can come and experience what it is like to interact with them and maybe adopt a cat from the cafe.
ohh koneko i love u. i wish u sold more merch tho. i bought an iced latte. it was like $7.95 but was too milky. there was about 10 cats. mainly sleeping or hiding. 3 different rooms to go to. the price is $30 which seems higher than the last time i was here.

A great place to get and give some four-legged love and affection if you don't have your own purrtner. Naturally, reservations required; you can make one hour or 30 minute session time slots for yourself online. Cute merch, a little 25 and under for me (ears on hats, that sort of thing), but hey- if you like something, I will not judge if you wear it. There are in fact three levels; my favorite was a pretty outside deck. The trees losing the occasional leaf captured all the cats' attention. No picking cats up, but if a cat jumped in your lap, you were allowed to feel the win! Lots and lots of petting went on, minimal swatting and hissing. No shoes allowed. Not sure about the coffee, just had a Poppi. read more
Booked an hour of visit for two adults off their website. Informed the barista and they stamped on top of our hand. Staff informed us of the rules before letting us take off our shoes and into the back where the kitties hang out. I love how chill most of the cats are, they are very clean and soft! Unfortunately, in a grimy area but good cafe. Really delicious coffee. I went to work from this café one day and absolutely love the fact that I can play with animals. The cat visiting hours are $25 and every hour. Unfortunately, I missed the first one, and then they skipped 3:00, so I had to go at 4:00 when a lot of kids and parents came. There are about four small levels and great conditions for the cat where they can travel in between. read more
This was my first cat café experience and I loved it! My family and I are all die hard cat lovers, with our own "cat café" at home with 3 members. On vacation, you always start to miss your feline companions, so we decided to fill the void with a visit to some other cats. When you walk into the café, it's divided into 2 parts: the café and the cat playground. Anyone can come to the café for a drink and a treat and watch the cats through the glass. Booking a half hour visiting session with the kitties requires a reservation. You can bring your drinks into the cat room, but not food. When it's your turn, you go through a staging room where you're read, the rules (no picking up cats, etc.) and take off your your shoes. Then you're welcomed into 2 levels and 2 rooms of kitties!! There are some cats who are a little skittish and don't want to be petted, but for the most part the cats were friendly and ready to play. I would definitely go back. It was a fun and welcoming experience. read more
I stumbled upon Koneko café while meeting friends for a drink, and to my pleasant surprise, it turned out to be a cat cafe. The friendly staff added a nice touch, even providing us with a good laugh. I didn't sample the food, but the ambiance had a comfortable sound level. The concept of a cat cafe is brilliant and it was originating from Japan. I appreciate that the cats have their own enclosed space as it can welcome everyone. If you're keen on meeting the cats, a best to reservation in advance as it tend to fill up. It is priced at $25 per person for an hour and there are 21 cats available. Kids accompanied by their parents have specific times to visit the cat area. It's not a daycare; rather, it's a place where you can consider adoption. Arriving at a time when the cats were discreetly hiding, I managed to spot a black cat through the transparent glass. Overall, I suggest coming for a visit since encountering such exceptional staff is quite uncommon and you can get a unique experience here. read more
Saw the sign outside about it being a cat cafe. Went in and realized you need a reservation to get to the cat part, plus it costs $25/person (not even sure how long the reservation was). Definitely didn't look like $25 worth of cats. I have cat at home for free. read more
Had a great experience at Koneko Cat Cafe. We did a one hour visit with the cats (which we had reserved in advance) and had snacks and coffee in the cafe before and afterwards. There were about a dozen cats during out visit and they were spread out over three areas. Some of the cats interacted with the people while others stayed quiet or were sleeping. The snacks in the cafe were yummy (the okonomiyaki and the chocolate cake were terrific) and the latte was solid. The staff was also extremely friendly and helpful. Beautiful cats! We tried the $22 happy hour experience, which with the drink helped make this more worth it. The overcrowding was a detriment to this experience for me: if they had something on their website that showed how many people/total slots there were, we probably would have found other times to go. Felt bad cause the cats seemed really overwhelmed by the number of people. I do love how this was set up with two floors of cat playing space. Staff was really kind and informative. read more

I've been wanting to go to a cat cafe since last year, and finally saw an ad for this place on Instagram. I got the Friday ticket with a choice for alcoholic beverage. The cafe has two floors and 6-7 cats when I went. All of the cats are up for adoption. read more
Such a cute, well-decorated cat cafe with adorable cats! I came here in the afternoon (around 1 PM) and expected the cats to be exhausted and unwilling to interact with us. While some of the cats slept, 80% of them were playful at some point and they were all SO cute. Even more heartwarming that these cats come from shelters and are available to adopt. The staff member working there was incredibly friendly and informative. When she noticed some people were just sitting there, she would go to the back to find a certain cat's favorite toy so they could play with that cat. Super thoughtful! The space itself is also super cute -- 2 indoor cat rooms and one outdoor patio and the cats roam in between. There's also absolutely no smell, which was fantastic. Just be sure to make a reservation beforehand (they usually don't accept same day walk-ins). read more

First you have to go online and make an appointment if you want to play with the cats All the cats are adoptable Clean restroom The guy who made our coffee and wine was so nice I really enjoyed his service The cats seem stressed out though so if you have small kids be sure to keep an eye on them. This place was exactly what I needed after a stressful week! The staff were super friendly and they gave a good list of snacks and drinks while you wait to play with the cats. The cat room is two floors full of adorable furry friends. You get to pet and play with them for an hour and they cap the reservations so it doesn't get too crowded. Definitely stop by if you're in the area! read more
Super adorable cat cafe where you can play with adoptable cats and also get drinks / snacks! The concept of this place is so cute and spoke to my soul, I was so excited to visit and be surrounded by cats. We pre-booked our visit online and came in the evening before their closing. There are a few rooms and an outdoor area where plenty of cats are roaming and chilling around. Since we came pretty late in the day, sadly most of them seemed tired and hangry so they weren't the most playful or friendly. It was still such a fun experience to be surrounded by so many cats though so overall I enjoyed my visit! read more
The cafe section of Koneko (which means "kitten" in Japanese) cat cafe is clean, relaxed and comfortable with a wide range of beverages and Japanese pastries/snacks if you just want a place to rest somewhere after walking around the gritty streets of the LES. The baristas were super chill and friendly, easy to talk to if you truly love coffee, tea or cats! I was early for my $25 12pm cat visit but they checked me in and I bought a cup of mint tea. I only had to wait about 5 minutes before a man gestured me into the glass door at the back of the cafe, showed me where to park my bag and shoes before I entered a 2nd glass door into the cat area. This street-level "upstairs" cat area adjoins a cat-tio patio area which was closed due to rain (Tropical Ophelia remnants). As a result, all the other cat cafe visitors were squished into the room trying to get their hands on a cat to pet. I wandered downstairs to the basement level and found myself alone with 3-4 sleepy cats. A staff person sat quietly in a chair on the perimeter. She went back into a staff area to retrieve more cats, enticing them into the room with treats. It was so relaxing to just sit and play "catch the string" with a lazy kitten. Then a couple of other people discovered the sanctuary, followed by even more people who loudly entered the room. The room started to smell stuffy. Like stale smelly socks (remember it was a rainy day). If you know cats, you know cats strangely seem to like the smell of stale smelly socks - the cat I was playing with suddenly left me to rub itself against a guy's smelly feet. Not my feet since I am fastidious about foot hygiene and clean socks. I was already irritated because I had been seated on the ground petting the cat when the said guy invaded my personal space and almost sat on my cup of tea. It just got too crowded so I went back upstairs and left the cats before my hour was up. But it was enough for me. I had sufficient cat cuteness to brighten up my day. Also in my particular logic, if I pet a cat that was rubbing against a stranger's smelly feet just minutes before, wouldn't it be just like I was petting that person's smelly feet? Next time I'll try to visit on a sunny day and hope other visitors will be wearing clean socks. read more

We got a vanilla latte, which was tasty, but the real star of the show is the CAT CAFE!!!!! Loved all the fur babies. It was such a nice way to play with some cats for an hour. We wanted to adopt two of them but sadly have roommates who aren't cat people. Can't wait to come back sometime soon! read more
Cute cafe with cute drinks and very nice staff. But the best part? THE CATS!! You can pay 20$ to spend an hour (don't forget to reserve in advance) with adoptable cats (mostly kittens when I went). There were around 14 cats and they were all adorable. While petting the cats I also got a chai latte, which was delicious. Overall fun and great experience for cat therapy! read more

I would come here even without the cats! One of my favorite experiences in the city so far, from the time with the cats to the food to the service to the general atmosphere. Everything is amazing, can't recommend highly enough. read more
Koneko's provided me with an experience I will not forget!! I searched for a cat cafe in Manhattan since I wanted to pet some fur babies and this was definitely the purrrfect spot. It's $20/hour to book and you can order drinks/snacks at the front of the cafe. They probably had about 10 cats when I went to visit and plenty of space for them to play in! I'm a cat lover so it was basically heaven for me the entire time. One cat was super cuddly and even fell asleep in my friends arm! The best part is, if you like a cat, you can apply to adopt one! read more

We just walked in - didn't have to make a reservation. I don't know if it's different when they're busy. And you're allowed to stay in there for a whole hour.
