The same name as Brenda from 90210. Brenda was one of the loudest cats when placed in a carrier. She absolutely hates it and I knew I needed to get her out of theif as soon as we heard hear, so my daughter and I adopted her. K911 workers were patient with us and allowing my daughter to hold different cats, and share info on them. They are also dedicated to what they do and I was even able to reach out to Jeanie after we had adopted Brenda to ask her some questions. Also, we were able to take her to the K911 clinic to have her seen for cough as soon as we adopted her. I'd highly recommend K911 since they are REALLY good to the cats who come through.

The ladies at the front desk were quick to get us checked in. The wait was not too bad for an emergency vet. I believe we were there for maybe 2 hours from beginning to end. They didn't find anything physically wrong with my dog but he actually calmed down by the end of our session and we came to the conclusion that he might've had some anxiety. They gave me medication to help with pain in case he experienced any before I could get him in to see his regular vet. They prepared estimates for blood work and x-ray but said that I can also wait until I can get him to his regular vet since it appeared that his pain had settled down. Overall, the service was great. Staff was friendly. They have complimentary coffee, tea, and water. I didn't see any pet friendly bowls but I gave my dog water from a paper cup since his mouth was so dry from his heavy breathing. I would recommend this location.

When we first arrived there, we noticed how peaceful the place was - none of the incessant barking that you encounter at the local shelter. Their grounds were well maintained. We were told the dogs are let out to run in the yard for 3 hours a day. Their website has a bio on each pet so you can read a background info on each one. Obviously when it's an owner surrender they have more information on the pet, less so if the pet was a stray. But even then, they observe them while at the shelter to give you an idea what to expect. Their system makes it easy to adopt. I recommend sending an application in to get approved first. Once you've been approved, just call to make an appointment to see a dog or cat that you would like to meet. They will hold the dog or cat for you until your appointment. This is different from local city shelters where you might see a dog or cat listed online but it might be gone by the time you get there. Their adoption fee ($350) is fair as my dog was already microchipped and his shots were updated, except for rabies. I was a bit surprised that he was released without updating his rabies. All in all, I would recommend PetsNPals to anyone looking to adopt. They definitely care about the pets and try to make their shelter stay as pleasant as possible. Please adopt, don't shop for a pet.

The staff here does a fantastic job of taking care of countless animals, many of which were abused or neglected. Ethel the pig is a particular favorite of mine, as she is a former test subject from a research lab and still manages to adore human contact. They offer tours that are children friendly, and work very hard to adopt out many of the animals to good homes. I look forward to future volunteer projects here, because they deserve support. We worked with Barbie adopting our American Bully Toby. He has been a wonderful addition to our family and it was a delight working with Barbie. I hope more people think about adopting their next dog or cat from rescues like these because there are so many animals that need our help. Lastly, the next time you want to add a furry buddy to your family think about an American Bully (aka Pitbull). They're by far the best family dogs you could ever ask for. They're smart, great with kids and other animals, and easy to train.

In November, 2021, we decided to add another fur baby to our family. We already had two senior rescues but we noticed how fast they were aging. One faster than the other, and we didn't want the younger one to be left alone when we lose the older one. We adopted Leo, an energetic poodle, chihuahua mix and he has brought us immeasurable joy! Barbie genuinely cares about her fosters! She vets adopters very thoroughly! We had a meet and greet in a park to allow all of us to be comfortable with the match. We really appreciate that because we know that when Barbie gives a family the thumbs up, she knows that rescue will be going to a loving, forever home! Leo is the sweetest puppy and all he wants to do is play. That has been challenging for us because our senior dogs don't want to play with a puppy who can be a little too strong and a little too rough for aging dogs. We spend hours a day, playing with Leo, taking him on walks and throwing a ball but it just never feels like enough. He goes to doggie day care once a week to play with other younger dogs and is so happy there. That's when we decided that Leo needs a playmate, a younger pack member who can match his energy. We reached out to Barbie and she matched us with our newest family member, Love, a Chihuhua, Shihtzu mix. Barbie assured us that she wants to play and is fearless! We worried that Leo might be too rough for her tiny size, but let me tell you, she is small but mighty! If he gets a little too rough, she tells him off and remarkably, he listens! He is a lot more gentle on Love than he has ever been with his other fur siblings or us! Since adding Love to our pack, we notice the older dogs hanging around us again, when before Love, they spent a lot of time away from wherever we were with Leo. They watch with amusement as Leo and Love play all day. Sometimes one will jump in and play for a minute and then continue to let them wear eachother out. Animal Rescue Recon is an organization that changes lives! They bring endless joy into the lives of so many! We attended the PAWS AND CLAUS event at the shelter. My family has been adopting our animals from…read morethe Antioch shelter for years. We have always had a wonderful experience. This was our first time attending this event. We absolutely loved that they had each family go in one at a time into the private space so that the animals could feel safe and less distracted. Not only at the shelter take pictures, but they had no problem with me setting up my tripod and camera. Andrea, Santa, and the other amazing worker (sorry I didn't remember your name) not only set up such an amazing backdrop, but also did such an incredible job helping the animals to focus and do their best. My dog Truman is a super picky dog when it comes to treats and they happen to have the one brand that he likes to eat. They really thought of everything!
