This Coyo Taco is located on US1 across from UM. We came here for dinner on a weeknight and the place was about 1/3 full of patrons. The guy who took our orders and also delivered most of our food was very friendly and outgoing (offering true "customer service" which can sometimes be a rarity in Miami), the food was good and this place features a full bar and a few screens for watching sports and other programming. All that being said, as a few other reviewers have correctly stated, prices here are a bit higher than they deserve to be. We each had 4 tacos, we each got a soft drink and we shared an order of chips and quac, and the price came to just under $75. That's a bit much for "fast casual" dining in a restaurant where you place your order at the counter, there's no actual table service and where patrons are expected to clear their own trays and trash and dispose of it after eating - and for cuisine like tacos which are supposedly "working class portable food" and have fairly humble origins. read more

The first time I tried coyo tacos was when my work got catering, and it was absolutely delicious. I was obsessed with the Elote and the beef, chicken, and pork were delicious. Perfectly tender and well seasoned. They came with the catering burners and the person who delivered it set it up perfectly. Even though it arrived 45 minutes before I was able to eat it, I still had warm food that wasn't overcooked. I cannot say anything about the ambience because I have not been to the restaurant, but I will talk about the delivery experience. I got delivery through DoorDash and wow, was I disappointed. This place is my go to whenever I want great Mexican food and good cocktail drinks. Came here for happy hour that I believe is between 4 PM through 7 PM. They have margaritas specials and I believe beer as well. The drink was perfect and I had no complaints. This is my go to spot for a happy hour in the Gables. One thing that makes this Coyo Taco particularly stand out is how freaking cute it is. Ambiance is definitely there but it also maintains this "lowkey" feel to it which I needed for Sunday. Cute spot that wasn't too overstimulating. They also played some nice jams! Another thing that makes this location unique is that it has a full bar (and happy hour woohoo)! Service was pretty good. Staff made sure to get our orders in a timely fashion and the food came out pretty quickly as well. Didn't get to snag a picture of my food because I was hungry and blacked out and ate all my food. I visited the new south Miami location and was left very disappointed after having had the original wynwood coyo tacos many times. Ordered Al pastor tacos that had one tiny slice of pineapple each. It just did not quite hit the spot. It felt like there was too much seasoning and I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but they just did not match the wynwood quality. Guac and chips were ok. Came on a Monday and they have $10 Burrito/Burrito Bowls deals. I went with the Carne Asada Bowl (how it comes) and it was amazing. The carne was soft with lots of flavor. Their rice is green. I topped it off with their green salsa which has just a little hint of spice but doable for those that don't do spicy. We sat in the long table that had a Jenga game to play. The vibe is modern with hanging lights and music. You order in person and sit down with a number and they bring the food out to you. You sit wherever you'd like. Love this place especially on a Wednesday when you can get some tacos 3 for the price of 2! On this trip, we ordered the sweet plantains with cheese, elote corn, guacamole, carnitas tacos, birria tacos and the March special of the Islas Canarias CroqueTaco which was so delicious! The place is order service on your own, but they do bring you your meal to the table and will also walk around to take your trays when you're done. The ambiance was nice and they have indoor and outdoor seating as well as a bar around the corner that you can order drinks from. Well, I went to this location to check it out. It's really beautiful inside and of course the location is awesome. I did find parking close by. It was pretty late I found one There I had one of coyo margaritas and these special croqueta tacos they only have them for the month of March. They were pretty good as it was different something I never tried before, but the atmosphere was really nice. The music was jamming the staff was great I will be back soon read more

If you're ever in the mood for tacos but don't know where to go, Coyo Taco is always an option! This day I decided to have a rice bowl and a guacamole as an appetizer. The guacamole was big enough for 2 people and we didn't even finish it because we got so full. I tend to over order at times just to try a bit of everything. The rice bowl was more flavorful than your typical rice bowl, but I would highly recommend trying the tacos! I've been here several times so I went with something different. I'm giving them 3 stars for the entire experience including a cool bar on the side, TV's for game watching and a DJ. But the service was very slow and the food not as great as the other location in Wynwood. Not sure it's because they just opened up a couple of weeks ago and trying to get their rhythm going but it was not a great experience as o expected. The staff was sweet and nice but all they could say is that they were backed up. My burrito bowl with fried grouper had too much breading. I prefer the grilled Mahi-mahi. My friend's chicken burrito hardly had any chicken, he joked about it and said it was a bean burrito. Not sure I will come back for a while as it's not worth what you're paying for. read more
