I had to visit this store to return my old router. Cox mailed me the new one but said the old one must be dropped off at a Cox store. I ended up running over here on a Saturday morning and while the place was busy, I was helped right away. It was easy to turn in the old router. The girl that helped me also informed me about the mobile service specials they had going on. I was in and out in under 5 minutes. The parking is odd but there is a lot of it available since the rental store in the same lot is now out of business. read more

A great, professional lady that cared about my concerns and helped me with my issues. I'm happy I stopped at this store she handled everything in a short time! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE Spoke with two different reps here about a simple address change and both were not only lacking in basic customer service skills but also just generally incompetent. Tried to cancel my account....went to the store to return my equipment (which was such a pain, most inefficient system ever) and while there, I confirmed what I owed, paid what I was told was the balance and thought "phew I'm done with them" WRONG Two months later I get a notice of late payment and that i owe close to $100!!! I call and they say that because I was given the wrong information I have to go back to the store and clear it up/pay the balance there. I'm just going to swallow the $$ and pay and *hopefully* be done for good! It's called customer service people. You messed up and that's on you NOT your customers. I'm so thankful to not have this carrier anymore. If you have ANY other option in RI go with it....Cox is horrible, has no regard or care for their customers and is constantly looking to squeeze every last minute or drop of $ you might have. I have never left a negative review until now. I contacted Cox Cable and asked them to verify that my phone number could follow me if I got service from them. I was told yes and sent through an automated verification to facilitate it. Come install day they gave me a new number. I told the installer I had arranged to keep my old number. He called someone who told him a step had been missed and she would fix it. It should connect in 7-10 business days. It did not hooked up. I called again, was told it was fixed and they would follow up with me in 7-10 business days to be sure I was all set. It did not hook up. They did not follow up so I called a third time. The person I talked to that time explained why they could not give me my old number so I cancelled my service and returned to my prior provider (The only reason I went with Cox is the prior owner of my new home had Cox so the wiring was already in. My old provider brought in their line at no charge.) Shortly there after I got a call from Cox. I explained that, as they had never provided the service they agreed to I would like a credit for the phone part of the service and I would pay the balance for TV and internet. I was then shocked to be told that I had agreed to a certain term so they would not credit me and were charging me a disconnect fee. I do not believe I ever agreed to a service term but after being harassed by them I finally threw in the towel and paid the bill just to be done with it. In addition, I had been told not to cancel my service with my old provider until the number came over so I double paid for two month in addition. This week, a collection service started calling. I told them I paid Cox. They said I should have paid them, not Cox and now they want me to pay a $40+ fee to them! I have never seen a company so unwilling to meet their commitments. Their actions have literally cost me hundreds of dollars. I will never do business with Cox again. read more

Awful service. Also they have incorrect locations up on google maps. When we finally found a location that wasn't demolished/ abandoned, we waited for service when there was 4 people working and only one of them accepting customers? The woman I spoke with and the other staff member standing right next to her at a desk doing NOTHING, told us we had to wait to be assisted by another staff member already helping a customer. Then another guy comes out from the back, helps us immediately and informs us we are being charged for an extra month of service for literally no reason...never using this service again. read more

This review is based on a few different factors 1. quality of actual service in home 2. pricing 3. customer service 1. i recently signed up for cox cable and right away i was urged to obtain more services then what i needed like home telephone in order to save money which i found ridiculous. The cable router i received the first time rarely ever stayed connected to the internet and signals throughout the home was terrible, a technician came out and replaced it with a different router which seemed to fix the problem at first but still occurs once in awhile. But still my HBO and premium channels hardly ever work! Most often when id would pick a channel a error message comes up and says "cox is having a problem please try back later", when calling customer service about it they claim not to know what could be causing it, now for $250 a month that is unacceptable. 2. After a few months of the same issues occurring without anything being resolved i decided to cancel premium services and now here is where the math doesn't add up. It Initially cost an additional $30 per month for premium channels but when i canceled it customer service rep indicated i am only now saving $20 per month. when i asked where the other $10 went he would not provide me with a answer, "actually he blamed it on state tax" which brings me to my next point. 3. Customer service rep did not understand simple mathmatics. as i tried to explain to him that no state has a 50% sales tax he carelessly dismissed my concerns and tried to sell me additional services. my complaints fell on deaf ears. Cox cable is the only cable provider in my area and my condo complex does not allow direct tv dishes. Rest assured as soon as another cable provider enters my area i will be sure to kick Cox out of my home once and for all. terrible! read more

Not only did Cox Cable cause expensive water damage to my home by not plugging up the lines they drilled but they have the nerve to question the integrity of their customers. So when I moved in to my new place I called the cable company for cable TV and internet. They said it would be cheaper if I got their bronze bundle (which would include home phone and I could just not use phone). Shrug. Ok. $89 a month. Well with taxes, fees and equipment rental that some how comes to $139 a month. Well thanks to a friend I'm down grading to just Internet. That'll cost me $80 a month. Better than $140! I'll get a Chromecast for TV! read more

Just got off of my fourth phone call of the day with Cox. They shut off different parts of my service repeatedly today for no apparent reason. The third time I called, after my cable television shut off when I tried to change the channel, the representative patronized me and hung up on me. So on my fourth phone call, after we got my television fixed, which I will admit that they EVENTUALLY were able to accomplish (after roughly forty minutes on the phone), I asked to speak with a supervisor about the fact that a customer service representative hung up on me. After waiting on hold five minutes for a supervisor, the supervisor came on the line. When I expressed how unhappy I was, and that I wanted to be compensated for the disruption to my service and that I wanted to know what happened to the customer service representative who hung up on me, I was offered SIX dollars (after four hours on the phone total) and misogynistic statements about how I couldn't understand how compensation worked. Thanks for being jerks and misogynists, Cox. Way to have customer service. read more

I had a terrible experience with Cox from the moment I stepped in this store. First, a sales associate kept me waiting for at least 15 minutes, although there were other free associates in the store, just to get the commission he gets from the sale of the item. After I got the modem I went home, waited a full day for activation, when the activation was unsuccessful the next day I called Cox. The representative made me try all sorts of things for at least an hour on the phone, at the end of that one hour he told me that the problem was an outage in the area. An hour on the phone for the problem he should have checked in the first place. After 4 hours modem still didn't work, I called Cox again, the representative told me that the outage is over and I asked for a technician, she said she has to go through the procedure before asking for a technician, so another 20 minutes on the phone doing things like unplugging the modem. And then they told me that the earliest the technician can visit us is on Monday (I am talking on a Friday) Obviously I decided to return the product, went back to the store the next day. Surprise, surprise they can only refund me with a check that will arrive at my place in 5 to 7 weeks. As everything with Cox, seems like the refund is also taking a long time. My experience has been like going through a ridiculous bureaucratic process in a third world country. And for what? Ridiculously expensive internet connection for crappy speed. Yes, the associate told me that the speed is 1 mbps for 35 dollars a month, 5mbps for 45 dollars. Seriously? Even the sales associates agree that the plan you get for 45 dollars is crappy, that you would probably want to pay more than 60 and get a reasonable speed. Something has to be done about the awful internet speeds and companies in this area. read more

I've been a Cox customer, and they aren't the best or the worst, but this isn't about that. This is about THIS STORE DESIGN. First, this shouldn't be designed as a store. It's NOT supposed to be a store. You can't browse and choose stuff then go to the checkout. It should be a CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTER. But designed like a store, as it is, it's impossible to use for customer service. Upon entry, you're confronted with what seems like a digital bar, but without anyone behind it. You and your fellow customers mill around. To the left and right are small seating areas but with no apparent connection to any of the three customer service stations (two on the right, one on the left). In fact, it's SO impossible to use that when he was done with his customer, one of the associates had to walk over and ask us to stand in AN ARBITRARY SPOT in the order in which we'd arrived. Not even "Sit here and someone will get to you" -- nope, STAND here. My service rep, when I dealt with him (I was there to cancel service because I've moved to FiOS) was PERFECT. I'm not going to mention any names since I don't want to get him in trouble -- but he completely understood that after the contract is up, both Cox AND FiOS jack your prices up; they don't care about keeping customers, only about getting new ones. He processed the closure quickly, didn't try to upsell or keep me, but said "hope to see you back in two years"! And you know, they probably will, because I doubt that FiOS will do anything to keep me as a customer once my term is up, either. read more

As a Cox bundled customer, and a business owner, I have been disappointed on many occasions. But have not been able to utilize someone else for my internet and cable service. I am looking for a way out every day as technology advances and we have choices, they will be history for me. Remember AT&T had 98 % of the dial tones in the USA. They bullied me, 1st agent was rude, laughed at me when I told him I wanted to cancel my service because I was a seasonal business and was most likely relocating to Ma in the Spring. Mentioned contract and then it got worst. No professionalism. The second agent was very professional, but played the same game. But understanding my situation, looked for options to lighten the burden. I was bullied by Cox, they really s--- at customer service. Big bully with a abundance mentality, due to little competition, not because of there standard operating procedures. My residential and business dealings with Cox at best have been mediocre at best. read more

I have always thought very highly of cox in comparison to other local telephone companies like Verizon. This viewpoint has been extremely altered after recent experiences. About 10 months ago, November of 2015 to be exact, our business was offered a package through Verizon for $100 cheaper per month than what we were currently paying thru Cox. We have been in business for about 20 years now and have always had Cox since opening. I'm sure every one reading this knows $100 is a lot of money, and since Cox would not do anything for us on their end, we had no choice but to switch providers. After only a few weeks of switching, we were experiencing multiple issues with our voicemail. Our customers were calling and leaving voicemails, and we would never respond because we were not receiving their messages. I called Verizon multiple times explaining this issue, and each time I was told something different and a new "ticket" was created. I was assured by Verizon that they were going to look into it and get back to me with a resolution. In May/June of this year, I called once again on this same issue. They once again stated they would create a new ticket and I would be contacted. I received a call about 10 minutes later, wow what a shock they actually got back to me, and I was told there was a possibility that Cox never removed our phone line from the "switch" and I needed to call them because they were not authorized to speak about my account to Cox. I called Cox, and after explaining this ongoing issue, I was reassured that we were no longer in their "switch" and that their was nothing whatsoever associated with our phone number in their system anymore. Maybe 3 weeks later and once again a frequent customer of ours asked if we had been receiving their messages, and at this point I think every employee flipped. I was on the phone right away with Verizon. After about the 50th time speaking with Verizon over about 8 months, I had enough. I called them for the last time and basically stated in more detail that we would be pursuing legal matters if this was not cleared up. I was told by the representative I spoke with and I was sent a text stating that I would receive some form of correspondence whether it be text/email/phone by 11:20 am the next morning which happened to be a Saturday. Saturday comes and I receive nothing. I was at my residence on Sunday and I dialed into the business line and I was sent to voicemail. But was I sent to our voicemail thru Verizon? No. I was sent to the voicemail we had through Cox and which was supposed to be terminated 10 months prior. So basically, for 10 months, our incoming calls were being sent to a voicemail box that should have been cancelled by Cox. I then proceeded to call Verizon and I went off on the representative. First, I stated that their customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with because I should have received correspondence and I never did. The rep proceeded to tell me that their voicemail department does not work on weekends so that is not possible. I proceeded to explain then why would your reps tell someone they will receive correspondence and then send out an automated text repeating this same thing? The rep further told me it is not possible for our phone number to be connected to 2 different voicemails at the same time. So I stated It is possible I have recorded proof of the old mailbox with the previous owners voice which was thru cox. I came into the business the next morning and I thought well hey let me try something. I dialed in the cox voicemail access number through our telephone, and I was asked to input my pin, which I entered the old cox pin, and their were about 20 messages from the past 2 weeks. So, since the mailbox automatically resets, we lost 10 months worth of business because of this error on cox's part. The problem is being told we are no longer in a switch by a company, and then finding out for 10 months they were intercepting your lines. And what did corporate have to say? That basically they don't compensate. They don't charge customers for voicemail so they would not have to compensate. Their error that could have caused a small business like ours to go belly under is not their fault and we have to lose out on 10 months of customers and businesses. NEVER AGAIN will we pay a company to steal our business. read more
