This is not store location specific, but a review for the general Phoenix area. I cannot stand Cox wifi. Worst internet provider I've ever used, it always goes out. I wish I could give no stars. I have a plan that allows more than plenty of wifi to my house but it doesn't matter. I'm looking into other providers (not sure if there are any though). Working from home is a nightmare and trying to get good service FaceTiming relatives or friends is a 50/50 shot if it will be good service. read more

I wish negative stars was an option on YELP, because one star is FAR too generous.. After being a loyal and paying customer to Cox for the last year and a half I ended up moving houses and having to cancel my service well after my contract was scheduled to end. They added a $30 charge right at the end, supposedly because I was cancelling my affordable wifi (from the affordable connectivity program). When I asked them to explain why I was being charged $30 to cancel my service they could not give me a reason why. I asked if this charge could be reversed because it didn't seem right to be charged an extra $30 because I was cancelling my service (that should not have had any fees attached to it at this point) and they refused to revoke the fee. So then I go ahead move, and refuse to pay the fee because it wasn't fair or right and it felt like they were trying to squeeze more money at me right before cancelling my service. Months later, they send a debt collector letter to my new address JUST BECAUSE OF THIRTY DOLLARS. Are you kidding me? This company has tried to sneak in extra fees in the past with me and I was able to dispute because they made no sense.. but this was the last straw. To bring thirty dollars to a collection agency for a charge that had no merit to it... What a load of BS. I hope that $30 was worth it, COX! I will never EVER give you my money again for as long as I live, I will happily pay another company even more just for the sheer principle of how little they value customer loyalty and their blatant greed for money. I'm not actually a Cox customer - Thank God! In the last three months, I've been receiving my sister's, my parents', and the gentleman who bought my last home five years ago, bills to my email account. At the bottom of the bill, it states, 'If you received this email in error, please contact Cox at 800-234-3993.' I did just that, spending 15 minutes with two lovely and very customer-oriented individuals who told me there's nothing that can be done. They went on to tell me the listed account holder would have to have provided my email address for me to receive their bill and only they can remove it. Interestingly enough, those individuals haven't been receiving their monthly bill. Way to go, Cox. I see nothing has changed since I chose a new provider five years ago. read more

So let me run this by you guys, maybe I'm the one that's crazy. We have Cox Internet and recently It's been cutting in and out. We contacted Cox and they did a reset and some other internal things, but it did not clear up. We had the Cox technician come out with the understanding that there may be a $75 charge if the issue was our equipment. Totally understand that. The Cox guy came out could not figure out what was wrong but replaced all of the "Cox" connectors on the outside of the house and also at the terminal box near the street. Then we get a bill for $100 a few weeks later. When we called Cox, they tell us that because we didn't have the protection package for $10 a month that we were getting charged, even if it was because of something on their end. So let me get this straight, I have to not only pay for them to come out if it's our issue, but I also have to pay for them to come out and fix their OWN equipment? Cox...you guys are awful. I have had 3 technicians visit my house and state there is nothing wrong with my home installation. If I could give 0 stars I would. I have been a customer for over 20 years & the customer service has declined so much. The service itself is not worth the money they charge with spotty wifi & cable issues. I have called in for technical support 10 times in the past month. The biggest thing I'm upset about today is when I call in for billing help to lower my bill (because they keep raising it) they find some magical coupon to lower my bill but then I find out that they just removed a service to lower my bill. The government won't do anything about them and nothing will come of this poor review, but what the heck. Our service has been going up and down for the past month. The CSR who handled my call could barely muster a word of English and was very obviously working from home, as I could hear all of his domestic distractions in the background. I must have spent 10 minutes with this guy trying to get the most elementary request taken care of. False selling promise, watch out with the "connect yourself the internet service" They sold me that and after I try to do it by myself, they " discovered" that the house I rented hasn't have the connection to the street. This is the worst customer service I ever received. When I first had coz install internet in my home they pushed me out an entire week but then in the date of service installation I waited for 4 hours and nobody showed up. To make things worse, when I called I couldn't get a hold of anybody. Now I am having trouble transferring my service to my new address. When I first called I specifically told the rep on the phone that I needed service to stay in at my old address for a week and turn it on at my new address sooner. He said I would just have to move the mod m box to my new location and that was it. That was a lie. All they did was turn it off at my old address too soon leaving me without internet and when I reached out online, all their only solution was to try to upsell me. If that wasn't enough, the next day when I got it turned back on, I told them to move the transfer to a specific date which they never did. And now the at the transfer was completed my internet is not working and they refuse to adequately compensate me. read more

Not RECOMAND COX. I had the internet service down for 36 hours, they tried to sell a technician service, upgrade speed and rent router/modem. Of course I refuse all! I had phone trouble shooting and a lot of confusion from technical support, not professional, not enough knowledge of networking and the same speech all the time. strange when I wasn't home, early in the morning the internet comeback. Ruben, the Cox technician, recently came to our home to identify the problem we were experiencing with the TV. He was exceptional! Friendly, skilled, thorough and accommodating. In anticipation that the TV was no longer operative we had bought a new one, which was the outcome. Ruben set up and programmed the new TV and replaced the cables. Service like that is rare. Ruben is definitely an asset to Cox Communications! read more

Terrible terrible company , ordered gig service and the best I could get from COX was 350 mbps,. Trunk line needed to be replaced but the technician didn't want to do the work. cancelled cox and ordered Quantum fiber , they have real gig service, plus cox has been overcharging me for the 500mbps service i had prior (only 150mbps max)and cox still wanted $30 after i cancelled them. Terrible customer service. I was trying to order their internet and was almost complete with the process before they said they needed to transfer me to another department/representative. Because the other department was busy, they told me to call back, and that I couldn't wait on hold or have them call me. Weird obstacle for someone trying to give you money, but whatever. I called back and was hung up on on two separate occasions. From those three reps that I talked with, they all told me different things, had my information incorrect, and needed something different that the other person said didn't need. It was crazy. So in my area, I only have one Internet provider available to me and that's Cox. I started having problems with Cox in December 2023 with the Internet cutting in and out a lot. We had an old modem router from Cox and figured that we just needed a new modem/router. So we decided to upgrade to and pay a higher price for Cox panoramic Wi-Fi and for a higher speed for our internet. (we found out later all of our problems with getting Internet was due to Cox, having disruption and service without notifying us ). We opted to use the Cox modem/router. And of course, because it was panoramic Wi-Fi, I thought our Wi-Fi would be even better. Since our upgrade our Internet has been more intermittent than ever and our Wi-Fi had to have a pod added to service our devices in a small 1400 square-foot home. More money. Additionally, our new panoramic Wi-Fi has to be rebooted 3 to 4 times a week to work right. According to The online technicians at Cox, Cox has had 20 disruptions in service to our area between January and March. (Again no prior notification). Every time the service goes down and then comes back up it reboots our router modem, supposedly reconnecting all of our devices depending on Internet and the Wi-Fi network. The problem is the Cox modem router assigns the most bizarre DHCP IP addresses to my printer, so I have to keep manually resetting my printer to a better IP address that will work on the net work. Recently, one of the technicians told me that in order for me to get reliable Internet from Cox, I needed to upgrade my plan to an even hire rate of speed and pay more. Cox has told me that they have checked my system and all devices are healthy. I've also been told by Cox technician that I need to pay $75 for a service technician to come out and check my system. Funny I didn't have these problems until I upgraded to Cox panoramic Wi-Fi. It's a nightmare. And just so you know my degree is in computer science so I can tell you that their system truly sucks and is unreliable. DO NOT use Cox or their equipment if you can avoid it. read more

I called because they added a $25 late fee when they raised the internet price and then added the extra fee to an old credit card on file that has been cancelled long ago. Not only did they screw me out of $125 by charging me for a cable box that "wasn't returned " TWO YEARS AGO, and not having people contact us, which they promised TWICE, now they are screwing with our business. We moved last week - about 3 miles from one house to another house in same zip code. The electric company transferred service on Wednesday when we closed on the house. the water company transferred service to the new house without hassle as well. But Cox can't seem to get their sh!t together. They were a no-show on Friday for their 1-3 appointment to simply transfer the service. They told me at that time that they couldn't come out until the 27th (11 days after they were supposed to be here) even though I have an email stating service was scheduled to be transferred on the 16th. I spent 2 hours on the phone with them on Friday October 16. Finally, was told that there is internet service on at the house - I just need to spend more money and buy a modem and we will have internet. I spend more money and buy a modem this weekend. I hooked it up this afternoon. Doesn't work. I call Cox. I discuss the issue with Cox and the Cox representative tells me that the reason that it doesn't work is because we closed our account with Cox. Our account is inactive and if we do a self install they will cancel the appointment on the 27th. I explained that we TRANSFERRED our account and asked him if other customers ever move from one house to a different house. That seemed to confuse him. I also explained that the appointment was also to bring additional equipment and upgrades to television service and cancelling that wasn't acceptable. After going round and round with him, I asked to speak to a supervisor and held for 15-20 minutes while they located an available supervisor. By this point, I've been on the phone for 41 minutes (not an exaggeration). He transfers me to a supervisor. The phone rings for over 20 more minutes before another customer service rep picks it up and asks why I'm on hold. I ask for the name of the supervisor. He will not provide it. I asked to be connected to the supervisor immediately - but they are all busy (according to ruse and obstructionist "customer service" rep). I insisted on being transferred to a supervisor and he transfers me to a number that rings 4-5 times and then says "Our offices are closed tonight, please call back tomorrow..." and then hung up on me. I called back BECAUSE I HAVE TO ACTUALLY WORK THE NEXT DAY and go through all of this BS again and finally get to someone who knows what the they are doing. It took almost 3 hours of my time (2 hours and 45 minutes to be precise) to make that happen because they can't seem to figure out their own scheduling. This company has screwed me over for the last time. I need internet, but that doesn't mean I have to send over $300/month to a company who treats its customers with total disregard. I'm going to keep the internet and scrap all cable tv/phone and other services. Worst customer service of any company I have ever dealt with. Would give zero stars if that was an option. read more

This is such a horrible company. So many people in the Phoenix area have no choice but to use Cox and the company takes full advantage of its monopoly. They randomly gave me a "promotion" that I didn't ask for and raised my internet speed. Then they raised my bill because the "promotion" had expired. I called and was on hold for more than an hour and was finally told that they would cut my internet speed in half and my bill would go down by 20.00. It was supposed to take effect the next day. It is two months later and my bill still doesn't reflect that. I called last month to correct the problem, again waited on hold for an hour, and was told that it would take affect with the next bill. I got my bill yesterday and it still had not gone down. I called again today, waited on hold for 40 minutes and when I finally got someone (foreign call center) he spent the whole time trying to sell me Cox cell phone service. I made it clear, several times, that I did not want a Cox cell phone. He finally told me that he would cut my internet in half and that the next bill would be 20.00 less. I asked him how I would know for sure, because I had been assured this would happen two times before and it didn't. He said I would get an email. He was going over the bill when he hung up on me. That was another wasted hour of my time and my bill will probably still not be fixed. Cox is the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. They are simply awful.
