This is only information from someone that received a quote (Quote 813142) and did not purchase…read moreservices from this company. I am rating a 3 because I chose not to go with this company due to their very high price and some information that I was given by the person that came to my home that I have never heard anyone else ever say in person or on the internet. Here's the story. I was quoted $3300 (parts and labor) to replace a 20 gallon tank hot water heater and add a flood stop valve. Now I've had a 40 gallon water heater replaced before at a different house and it only cost me $1300 (with parts and labor) so I definitely had some sticker shock. Maybe that's normal now, but I'm not sure that labor inflation has gone up this much in 5 years. Maybe it has though. . . (Doesn't look like it when I check homedepot.com though). Second, I was inquiring about maybe going tankless because I have an attic mounted water heater and I would definitely like to not have to worry about losing a ceiling one day because the tank fails. The person from this company was vehement that tankless water heaters use more electricity than tanked water heaters. What? Isn't the whole point of tankless water heaters that they use LESS electricity? Hasn't most of Europe switched over to tankless because they use less electricity? Doesn't the US Government's EPA say that tankless units use 34% electricity on average? What is going on here? Whether the company stands by this claim or denies that their guy said it. . . I would never go with a company with such suspicious pricing and that makes such suspicious claims about energy usage. YMMV.

Tried researching online but was overwhelmed by all the good and bad reviews for most of the businesses. My neighbor suggested Genzel Plumbing and I'm glad we did. Our experience with them from first phone call to end project was positive. I called and spoke with Amber. I explained our guest bathroom leaky toilet problem. Amber was professional and friendly. She explained there was an upfront $89 charge for a service technician to come out. The service technician would evaluate and let us know the total cost up front. I agreed the charge was acceptable and made an appointment for a service technician to come out to our home. The morning of the appointment Amber called to let us know Rocky Johnson (Service Technician) with 27 years of experience was on his way. Also received a text & email with Rocky's picture. Rocky arrived on time and was professional and friendly. He assessed the problem and explained what was needed. He was very detailed and patient with our questions before we agreed on the service. Rocky completed the job and left us with a clean bathroom and no leaky toilet. Ask for Rocky Johnson you will not be disappointed. Regards, Sandi (Celina, TX)

On the day of installation, he spent another twenty minutes or so showing me every step before starting. He answered all of my questions in detail and never once seemed put out. I received three other quotes from large plumbing contractors prior to going with Jay. In every case I spoke to a customer service agent who gave me line pricing and read off a prompt. They all had the same disclaimer that pricing may change at the time of installation. That's typical, but the point is none of them gave me the attention and were able to answer my initial questions without sending a technician to my house. Who wants to hassle with multiple appointments. Anyway, Jay was competitive with the other quotes (toward to higher end), but his thoroughness was well worth a few hundred dollars when you are doing such an involved job. Furthermore, Jay doesn't cut any corners! He uses all new parts of the highest quality (he will detail all of it with you) and does all of the work himself. ALL OF THE WORK BY HIMSELF!
