I would give these guys 10 stars if I could. I had someone picked up as a "fugitive" up here,2500 miles from Texas. The cops would not give me straight answer on either end, neither would the courts. I called a few bond companies, some had no idea what to do, others didn't want to bother. Oh, and there are no bail bondsmen here, so it had to go through the county up here. Cowboy's professional friendly, caring staff helped us figure out what needed to be done, even overnighted the bond for the signature Dallas County required. They kept me informed every step of the way, even called me when Dallas sent the telex to the County up here. I should have read the reviews before choosing Cowboy to bond my son out. They are predatory, they lied about their terms and took my money, promising to have my child out within hours. The next day when he still wasn't released, I was told that they needed additional co-signers plus leg monitors and drug screening, all of which we had to pay for at their inflated cost. This place SUCKS. Paid the bond and they end up revoking it and holding my funds for 2 days. I had to wait until the funds were returned to then bail my loved one out. There were a few things unsettling about this bail bond company. The quote over the phone does not match what they charge you in person. The bond almost doubled in price when I arrived with paper work. They tack on a lot of fees and taxes for their services and if you do a payment plan it's offered at a high interest rate. They ask severely personal questions like your children's' names and what school they attend. They ask for the references personal information as well, more than just an address, phone numbe, email... they want their work history information. They charge you before they even review your application and if denied services they still hold your payment for 3-5 days. I'm not sure if this is supposed to be normal protocol across board but I hopefully will never need a bail bond again and found someone that did the work for what was quoted over the phone, no outrageous hidden fees. read more

These people are very very shady. Do NOT use them. They still try to collect after cases had been resolved. Try to sue after the case has been resolved. I give Cowboy Bail 1 star because the gentleman answering the phone was friendly. This company accepted the $1000 plus fee up front. Then I was notified I need a co signer. Got the co signer who changed job but not careers (36 years in RCM Mgmt) that owns her own home and has nice salary. She was rejected for not being stable . Her prior job tenure nor the fact she has been in her house for 20 plus years was not taken into consideration. When asked who the CEO of the company is she was told there wasn't one. Then asked who made the decision not to accept the co signer Bucky Chapel was spelled out. Which is incorrect the CEO/President is listed as Buckley Chappell (not sure why the employee felt a need to lie or perhaps was a bad speller?). What should have taken 30 minutes, according to their advertisement took hours without any follow up. We called Cowboys back they never called but had the money. Decided to go elsewhere this company don't have the best business practices. One other thing ,the money can't be refund until mid morning the next day.. Make sure you take your time to review the paperwork carefully before giving up any funds. Thank goodness this was not the only option and we were not desperate. This company has an A rating with BBB.... Question??? If you butter right hands can anything be bought, I guess. Please use word of mouth experiences when possible. A total waste of time. We paid the bail bond fee and was told that they had attorneys that would be making their rounds and it would only be about a few hours. Well, low and behold we had to keep contacting these people for an update and it was a different story each time. The last time we contacted them, they said there is not an attorney to post the bail. Called around to several bail bond places, had several different "down payment" quotes, and decided to use these people since their words seemed so promising! Drove TO DALLAS, gave them down payment, signed paperwork, and co-signer was told to give them an hour to contact our county, and then our county handles it from there. A couple hours later, I decided to call to get an update, they wouldn't talk to me and needed to talk to the person who co-signed, mind you, they have talk to me, called me, etc up until I called to get an update. Come to find out, they couldn't/wouldn't do it EVEN WITH TWO CO-SIGNERS! So now we had to drive back to get money, and start the process all over again. Do not use them! I wish i had read the reviews before using them. Quoted me a price over the phone only to be told after bond was posted that you had to pay more. The bond was only $1000 and they said it would be $250. Ok so i went and paid that. When the person got out of jail they had a payment plan set up to pay another $250. If you can't pay that when you get out they charge 18% interest. That is super deceptive. I will never use nor recommend them to anyone ever. And they charge $15 monthly for some app that they use for the people to check in. I asked why the $15 and if they could just come in and i was told well some bond places charge $50 a month. And you don't get any money back once the case is closed. You've been warned. Very deceptive...don't use them. read more

If this place was the last option of bonding me out of jail... leave me in! Since a 0 star isn't an option I'll settle for a 1 star and a fair explanation along with how my family has been treated thus far. Going in and getting set up to bond out our relative was actually easy, as it is anywhere else sales are made, but it was full of fast talk and total misinformation either by omitting key details or downright lying. We were told our relative would need a co-signer to get out, which is ok, and that if at any time we felt that it would be best to remove ourselves from the bond (as in if he wasn't acting right we could get out of the HEFTY penalties that were possibly to be levied against us) that all we had to do was call. Well we tried. Every single call has been met with a minimum 20-30 minute wait time, with a couple calls lasting over an hour on hold, and several times we have been "disconnected" during conversations. When we actually manage to get someone on the phone we are told they need to transfer up the ladder yet management can never be found. If you've made it this far in the review please please take our advice and use literally ANYONE else but here. Don't be fooled by the fake google reviews! read more

After contacting cowboy bail bond and being quoted one rate on a $1000.00 bond I was confused to learn after the bond was paid I was charged more money after my loved one was released. $320.00 on a $1000.00 bond. Cowboy bail bond does NOT subscribe to the 10% rule like other bail bond companies in the same vicinity. Cowboy Bail Bond is not the bond company you should go through if you are EVER in the unfortunate position to have to use one. THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST BAIL BOND PLACE EVER!!! I highly suggest you go somewhere else. We went there to bond someone out and waited for 2 hours before we were helped which was already time wasted cause I've been to other bond places and they were much faster. Once we did the paperwork they said he should be release between 4 -6 hours. So then we went home and later received a call from them stating that we weren't approved bc we didn't have much history. Whatever that means, idk. So then we got someone else to cosign and then they said if this doesn't go through well give you a call back. So then hours (3 hours) has passed by there was no call so we thought eveything was fine. So finally we decided to check on the status of the bond and they said "oh you weren't approve again bc of the lack of history." So I said "why didn't anybody call us to inform us?" This is such a waste of time. So then they said someone else needs to come in and sign the paper. So then my mother had to drive way down there to sign the stupid paper and then they said he'll get release later. I've never had to deal with so much time wasted at a bond place. Sorry long story but I forgot to mention we were at the bail bond at 1pm today and my mom had to go and sign the paper at 8pm and she didn't get home till 11. This company is HORRIBLE! I went to the Irving location after being on their website with 30 minute application process advertised, I felt they would be the best solution to my husband's problem. 30 minutes my ass, I was there for over 3 hours just doing the application. I was told to call 45 minutes after the application was completed and they had taken my money. Three hours later, I was told I could not get him bonded on my own and would need a co-signer with stability as I am on disability. I sent them two seperate homeowners, both with good credit and both with over ten years on their jobs. They turned one down and never took the application on the other. I was there until midnight with my children falling asleep in my vehicle waiting for an answer because they would NOT allow me to wait inside. Finally at midnight(12 hours after I started) I was told they would take the application on my father-in-law in the morning and if for whatever reason they did not approve him I would recieve my money back immediately the next day. When I called my father-in-law to see about his application, they never faxed him the information! When I went to get my money back they told me it would take 3-5 business days to process my refund which I obviously did not have the time to wait! I scrounged up more money and went to Doc's Bail Bonds on Riverfront in Dallas and within 30 minutes I was approved without a co-signer and my husband was home within hours. Cowboy Bail Bonds are full of crooks! They knew full well they would not approve me and I would not get my money back immediately like I was told. I guess their bottom line for that day looked good, we plan on suing them for false advertisment and fraudulently taking my money and NOT returning it within 24 hours as the reciept clearly stated.
