Cowans is a great place, they do fantastic work at a great price and they're very transparent about what they're doing and how they do it. It is family run so that makes sense. The only downfall is that they are quite small so anything other than an oil change will be out a for a week or two depending on the time of year, which is frustrating but understandable as well. I've been taking my cars to Cowan's for two years and have had consistently good experiences each time, both with the service and the price. Last year I brought my rusty old car over for an inspection, and when it didn't pass, they didn't even charge me the $15. The guy I spoke to gave me some solid advice about body shops in the area, what I could expect to pay, and whether it would be worthwhile to just buy a new vehicle. With my new (used) car, I've had all my routine maintenance/inspection/repairs done at Cowan's. This winter I had the windshield wiper tank replaced, and one of the mechanics popped out a dent in my bumper, fixed a headlight, & fixed a couple other minor things without charging me extra. Awesome! Having car trouble is a stressful enough situation as it is; some of the mechanics in this area will try to screw over college students and people who don't know much about cars, making an already unpleasant experience 10 times worse. Cowan's is completely different, I strongly recommend taking your car to them if you have had bad experiences in this area. Honesty goes a long way in the car repair business! read more
