Even the bathroom is clean. We'll see how long that lasts. Inside is a Dunkin' Donuts, an Amato's, and lots of booze. We stop here on our return trips to Mass for Amato's. The customer service is pretty awful. It's at a Maine pace, which means it takes twice as long for you to get a sandwich as it does anywhere else. The kids who work here seem really nice but just aren't accustomed to strangers. Which is funny since you see loads of tourists coming through here every summer. I always get their classic Italian sandwich which is really just a ham and cheese drizzled with olive oil and vinegar. Even so it's good. However, the calzone we got was AMAZINGLY good. Loads of toasty cheese, chicken and spinach in a toasted shell, so good. The Dunkin's was slow but friendly. You pay for the Amato's stuff at the regular register. They give you a ticket and you go to the register to pay. You can pay for the dunks at dunks. The customer service at the register is pretty good. It's just the Amato's service that is lacking. The whole set up is weird and yet I stop here almost every time I'm in Maine.

I went back in the store to address it to the cashier (who was clearly blazed off some weed as his eyes were completely bloodshot red and glossier then a donut) and he told me "I'm not sure if our system is messed up or what but idk if we received youre funds" big apple clearly received my funds as I immediately pulled up the bank statement on my phone and showed him, he still didn't seem to care and told me I was "causing a scene amd not helping the case any" I was nothing but polite and cordial with him he was just buckling under the pressure and making excuses rather then correct the issue immediately. he told me to leave big apple (without the gas I just paid for) and to "come back tomorrow at 8am" and ask the maneger for my $10 returned or $10 worth of fuel...(mind you I pulled into this store because my gas light was on) so to sum it up I just had my money stolen from me and was treated very poorly on top of it. being a contributing member of society/business owner i do not tolerate this kind of treatment and EXPECT the manager make this right tomorrow at 8am. I'm guilty of nothing but paying for gas and not getting the gas I paid for.

Claimed she as looking for toilet paper (a person in line said she had gone out to smoke). She then refused service to a gentleman who had an expired id, with the temporary one along side of it. She claimed there was no expiration date on it, it was in the back which he clearly showed to her and to a police officer who was in line as well. The office said there was nothing he could do and it was her call. It is even more frustrating when he offered to show his VA Disabled Veterans card which is a would verify his DOB (to mention the man was clearly in his 40s) she said she didn't care she had already declined the sale, further embarrassing the customer.

They also have a large amount of gas pumps available I suspect due to being on a popular route towards Bar Harbor. Secondly while I did not use it, my wife claimed their bathroom was very clean for a gas station so another huge plus there. Inside in general was clean as well. They offered all of the things you'd expect from a Circle K/gas station for snacks and food. A spot I think is worthy of stopping at if you are going by and need gas or snacks or a bathroom break.
