Avoid this builder, worst build quality I've experienced. The lot was not leveled or graded…read moreproperly and I've spent $10k just on supplies to fix it since they refuse to fix virtually anything outside the house itself. Likewise, warranty repairs have taken up to 8 appointments to fix basic problems. They sell "3 car garages" and then have you sign a disclaimer acknowledging that your 3rd car had better be a bicycle. What they don't tell you is that you can't even get 1 car into the single-car garage doors and still open the car doors unless you park sideways in the garage. If you own a truck, that's not even an option. Hvac is underpowered. Have had upwards of 20 problems with the house in 2 years, gave up on half of them as Perry mgmt's response is typically of the "oh yeah that never works" flavor. So, your circuit breaker, hvac, roof, ovens, stoves, landscaping don't work -- that's the answer after spending over half a million on a house? Much of the "warranty" work I had done was because the house didn't pass code and should never have been sold in the first place. Currently working on fixing yet another roof leak.

The initial investment was great, but sadly they're not maintaining the investment they've made in the amenities. Examples are the poor maintenance of the gym equipment (bikes, A/V equipment in the gym, weights, pools, etc). I'm so glad to have sold the house in cane island. I loved the house, but not cane island.

Amazing new master planned community in the heart of Katy,TX…read more We are very happy with the location and the whole vibe of the community (very friendly and beautiful). It will be awesome once completed. We were lucky enough to get in early. I believe the amenity center (which looks amazing) will be done in november. If you access the cane island website through a mobile device, you can see which homes are sold and which are available. There are lots of other cane island homeowners like us who drive through the community whenever we get a chance because it is amazing to see all the progress. We see lots of Katy Police officers driving through as well, which adds some comfort. The living arches at the entrance way light up at night and change colors (so cool). They have also had a taco truck come out and a lobster truck come out recently. The tax rate is high but worth it, in my opinion! Other news: One of the playgrounds is going up, the splashpad and amenity center are going up, the sidewalks around the lakes are finished (mostly), light posts are going up.

Sadly, 2 weeks after my new home warranty expired there was a loud buzzing coming from my breaker…read morebox. As I was not in warranty I called an electrician to investigate. Long story short, 3 AFCI breakers were not working and the grounding rod connector was a plumbing clamp not a ground rod clamp! 2 weeks later I finally connected with the electrician contracted by Perry homes. Of course, since I had not had them inspect my breaker box first and had another electrician fix it (hello...fire hazard!!!) then they were not liable for the bill for the AFCI boxes. As a widow I expect the companies I contract to build something for me to do a quality job. Guess Perry Homes is not worried about their customers once they have their money. (yes, I paid cash for my homes) If you have Perry build your home be sure you know all aspects of home building so you can be the one to inspect their work! I am pleased to let you all know that Jason with Perry Homes came to me (he had not yet read this review) to tell me that they would be paying for the replacement of my AFCI breakers! He said Perry Homes wanted to make this right and would also be checking on the clamps for all of the other homes in the neighborhood! I feel like Perry Homes (and especially Jason and another supervisor Kevin) really do care and will make things right when I have a concern.
