I was genuinely excited to move here because it's out of the way and closer to my family. Since I travel 50-75% of the month for work, I'm currently on assignment. Unfortunately, they wouldn't allow me to take a virtual tour, so I informed the agent that my sister would come view the property. She made a casual comment that it was fine, but she emphasized that they couldn't discuss my application with anyone except me. As if I had asked or wasn't aware of this. It was quite obvious, but I suppose. My sister visited the complex, and in my opinion, they weren't very friendly. I was on FaceTime with her when she arrived, exuding a cheerful disposition and explaining her purpose. The lady recognized her because I had recently emailed. My sister attempted to engage in pleasantries, but they fell flat. However, I understand that it might have been due to Mercury retrograde. They provided her with a map and instructed her on the location of the available unit. That was the extent of their interaction. They didn't mention any of the amenities or other details. My sister drove around the complex and showed me the unit. I liked it. My sister remarked, "I suppose that's it. They didn't really say anything." Despite feeling a bit uneasy, I decided to proceed with the application. I was approved, and I chose a move-in date of May 31st. I paid the reservation fee. Almost two weeks passed, and I hadn't received any updates, but I wanted to move in sooner, so I set a move-in date of May 3rd, as there was a first-floor unit available. I sent an email requesting a quote, but I didn't receive any response. I sent a follow up email a few days later, no response. I waited a few days before calling them, as it was clear that no one was following up with urgency. I spoke to someone who informed me that they could not accept my payment documents because the name on the documents did not match my name. I use an alias at work due to the remote/virtual nature of my job, and my initials actually match my name. The girl on the phone told me that they would need my bank statements or to verify my employment over the phone. I agreed to having them contact my job, as I had no issues with that. However, as the conversation progressed, she informed me that they needed both my bank statements and to contact my job. This was a clear case of mixed messages, and I couldn't help but wonder if they were just trying to make things difficult under the impression that I was providing fake documents. Despite this, I decided to let it slide and remain interested in the place and would send everything in. She kept repeating that she could not switch my unit until my information was fully verified. I understood her point, but I also felt that she needed to know my plan especially since you have to reserve the unit you wanted and I had already paid. I requested that they send me an email outlining what they needed, as no one had reached out to me. It took me contacting them for them to even acknowledge that there was a problem. After several hours, I finally received an email. Within the same hour, I sent back the requested information, along with additional details. This was two weeks ago, and I have yet to hear anything back. It is evident that these people do not want me to stay at their property, and it is even more evident that I do not desire to live in a place that lacks follow-up and treats people as if they are committing fraud. Of course, the reservation fee is non-refundable. Which is very convenient for them. If you choose to move here, good luck, but I will never apply here or recommend them to anyone. - And to be clear, income isn't close to an issue and my CAREER is with a well known company! However, I don't know if I'm approved or denied. Which is asinine for a place of business. But I'm happy to have experienced this prior to moving in.

I would give these apartments -5 stars if possible!!…read more WARNING: Avoid residing in unit 1302 as it is situated above one of the leasing agents, also known as Fatima. first and foremost I used to be a tenant at apt 1302 from nov 2023 - april 2024. the leasing agent ms fatima was the one who leased us our unit above her apt knowing we have a 2 year old and a 11 year old. the first day we moved ms fatima had the nerve to tell us to keep it down even though we are moving. as we get settled within the first two week we were getting disturbed by fatima and her boyfriend banging on their ceiling to alert us that we are being too loud. my spouse knocked on their door and attempted to let them know they can always text us or knock on our door to let us know we are being too loud rather than scaring my children with their constant banging on the ceiling. Even simply walking was a noise complaint for them. it got so bad that they started calling the courtesy officer to come to our home and flash their lights into our apt. the reviews from google shows that this has been an ongoing issue for sometime and unfortunately corporate fails to hold them accountable. not to mention Clark finds it acceptable as a manager of an establishment to think it's ok to yell at their tenants. SPECIALLY WOMEN. This Mr Clark man had the audacity to yell at me because he had a problem with my dad parking next to my gargage to pick up my son. the fact that he think it's ok to yell at me infront if my child and my father it upright unprofessional and dispicable. I am a manager at an establishment myself and I could not phathom yelling at any customer or tenant in this scenario. we have reached out to cooperate but yet has failed to hold their employees accountable. these apartments have been a living hell for me and my family. I hope no one ever has to deal with what we went through. especially for a family with little children. long story short we had to be let out of our lease due to harassment. mind you we were let out of our lease therefore we were not in the wrong. only saving grace is ms angela!! Let me start with the biggest problem I have... 8 WEEKS FREE IS A LIE 1. There was a notice put on my door saying I have 3 days to move out because I failed to pay rent (1772 added late fees). But PER MY LEASE AGREEMENT I am entitled to a ONE TIME CONCESSION of 1525 to be applied to September and October. This reducing my rent obligations to 762.50 per month (even though I stated I wanted my full month cover). They charged me FULL rent and late fees on top of that. They did not honor what was CLEARLY stated in my lease. Maintenance unreliable 2. In my 3 third week, my stove went out and the next week my dryer went out. Besides that maintenance was not supposed to enter my home without me being there. But, yet they did. Not only that but it takes DAYS to get maintenance to fix urgent matters. Not so friendly leasing staff 3. The leasing staff specifically attitudes are not the welcoming and inviting. The lack of communication is beyond unacceptable. Anna is the sweetest one there. She should be the one running the place then maybe we will get some order. But, as for the rest of the staff rude and dismissive. This is not the place I thought I could call home. It is beyond disappointed and frustrating to deal with this all in less than ONE month of living. I will be breaking my lease and getting out of this place. PLEASE LOOK AT OTHER APARTMENTS!! I am a former resident of Marquis Seven Meadows at 6800 Gaston Road, where I lived for eight years…read more I am sharing my experience because, despite numerous attempts to resolve my concerns directly with the leasing office, I have been unable to receive consistent communication or a resolution regarding my move-out charges. I had a very positive experience when the community was managed by Cortland. The staff was professional, responsive, and attentive. Unfortunately, my experience changed significantly after the transition to Marquis management. During my time under Marquis, I experienced recurring pest concerns and repeated complaints about excessive noise from my upstairs neighbor that I did not feel were adequately addressed. However, my greatest concern has been the handling of my move-out. Following my father's passing, I made the difficult decision to relocate closer to my mother after eight years at the community. Because I work Monday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., visiting the office in person was difficult. On May 10, I attempted to submit my notice by email, but it was returned as undeliverable. Toward the end of May, I finally spoke with a leasing associate by phone. I explained my circumstances and the undeliverable email. The associate provided the correct email address and instructed me to submit my notice there, which I did during the first week of June. I was not informed that my notice was considered late or that additional charges would apply. After submitting my notice, I was informed that I would be charged additional fees for not providing the required 60-day notice. I immediately explained my previous attempts to provide notice, but received no response. Over the following weeks, I made numerous calls, left voicemails, and sent emails trying to resolve the issue. Many calls went unanswered. When I eventually spoke with Ms. Paola, I explained the situation and asked whether consideration could be given based on my eight-year residency and documented attempts to provide notice. I was told that if I could provide the original email, the fees could be waived. Since my sent emails are automatically deleted after 30 days, I explained that I could provide the undeliverable notification instead. I sent it as requested, but again received no follow-up. After weeks without resolution, I posted a Google review describing my experience. The following day, Ms. Paola contacted me and stated that she was willing to work with me and waive the additional charges if I removed the review, provided I had paid rent through my final day of occupancy--which I had already done. I explained that I would gladly remove the review once the matter was actually resolved. I was told the waiver would be processed and that I would receive an update within a few days. A week passed without communication. After additional calls, I was told the documentation was insufficient and that the request still required approval, which had not been explained during our earlier conversation. With help from a coworker, I recovered the original email from my deleted folder and forwarded it immediately. When I called the next day to confirm receipt, I was placed on hold for approximately 29 minutes. The emails were eventually found in the spam folder. After reviewing the email, I was told it appeared to be "fake," despite it coming directly from my account and containing the original correspondence. I was again told the matter would be submitted for approval and that I would receive follow-up. Since then, despite additional calls, voicemails, and emails, I have received no meaningful update or resolution. My concern is not simply about the charges. It is the repeated lack of communication, inconsistent information, delays, and difficulty I experienced while trying to resolve this matter in good faith. I made multiple documented attempts to provide notice and repeatedly tried to communicate with the leasing office. After eight years as a resident, I had hoped my move-out experience would be handled with the same professionalism I experienced under the previous management. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I respectfully ask corporate management to review my emails, documentation, call records, and the timeline of events and reconsider the additional charges. I believe my documented attempts to provide notice, my eight-year residency, and the representations made to me deserve consideration. I am simply asking for this matter to be fairly reviewed and resolved. I have sent emails without receiving responses and made calls that have gone unanswered, and I hope someone from corporate management will finally review the situation.
