I really liked the atmosphere , the country barn, home feel for everything, and a nice shop to boost the bussiness. I went to buy jelly and its from out of state.... Hmm, ? The Restaurant was ok, lots of seating, very roomy. The service was ok, nothing to write home about or anyone The food was not what I was excepting.. a little bland, food temp was a little cold as well, it just things were not aligned to have a good meal here today sadly.... Waiter gave us a slight adjestment due to something was not right or something, and I know he changed that with out us asking so that was nice, I think they could tell we just were not too happy. The things to do around the property is very cool tho, and even greater for family with kids, they have a rideable train, and alot more. I wanted to try there pie, maybe next time , try them again, IDK... It wasnt terrible, ok, the food was very bland, and could have been well much better! read more

Best homestyle cooking around. Great daily specials and extremely friendly staff. Logan is the best server, ever! Prices are in line with all the other restaurants but quality is superb. Im diabetic so i cant rate desserts. Ambiance is good but not great. read more

Our visit to Cover's Apple Ranch started as a "quick breakfast stop" and somehow turned into a full-blown farm hangout like we'd been adopted by the property. Breakfast came first. Simple, hearty, and exactly what you want before pretending you're outdoorsy. The baked goods? Dangerous. I'm pretty sure the apple pastries are laced with something addictive because suddenly I was considering buying six pies "for later" like I live in a cabin and churn butter. But the real plot twist? The animals. We came for eggs and toast, and stayed because a goat made prolonged eye contact with me like it knew my secrets. There were chickens strutting around like they run the place (honestly, they probably do), and every animal had that "you're in our house now" energy. At one point, I realized we'd been there way longer than planned, just casually hanging out with farm animals like this was part of our daily routine. City life who? Come for the breakfast, stay because a goat emotionally manipulates you into never leaving. read more

Memories... have not been here since when it was Zonkas. Good times though we did not get the Mike high apple pie we enjoyed the apple crisp and had lunch there. We sat outside enjoyed the beautiful weather watching the kids ride the train as we enjoyed our burger and fries. Food and deserts are good and worth a try if you are in the area. read more

Thank you to my sister for introducing my family and I to Cover's Apple Ranch. Located in Tuolumne, not only is this place a sit-down eatery but it also provides entertainment. This establishment offers fresh foods, baked goods, mini train rides, and a petting zoo. First and foremost, understand that the entire place is smaller than I initially imagined. With all of the fun readily available, I wished it was more spacious. The petting zoo contains a coop full of black speckled chickens, 1 extremely large pig, 1 cow, 1 donkey, some goats, and a duck pond. The feed [corn kernels] is obtained through a gum ball machine that will cost you 25 cents for a small handful. The bakery counter has a large number of baked good to choose from and the fresh apple cider is amazing. The restaurant serves breakfast until 11am and offers salads, sandwiches, and espresso coffees. 4 stars, my toddler and her cousins that the most entertaining time here at Clover's. While I didn't get the chance to actually dine in the restaurant, I eagerly look forward to trying their apple walnut salad and the pot pie. read more

Great place to stop by if you're visiting. Especially if you have kids or looking for a little family breakfast trip. The French toast breakfast was amazing. I love the syrup and they do make their own bread there. Not sure how busy it gets but when we got there it was just us and 2 other people but once we were done exploring it started getting busy. Our server was sweet Thankyou so much and this place feels like a cozy home farm style house/restaurant. Once you're done I recommend to look at the animals and they have a train that takes you around as well. read more

I've been coming here forever and during summer they do something huge with the farm where you get to ride the train to the petting zoo! The animals are adorable, and the stars of the show. I tried looking for food to feed the goats because I am a total sucker for their cuteness! Especially the baby animals! The vibes are calming if you're able to get a through the craziness and get a good view of everything even though it can get VERY busy especially on weekends! We and everyone always love to see animals being happy and in good care. Today they had a bunch of trucks out some with dirt slides and kids sliding down the dirt Superman style like a water slide lol couldn't be me personally I'm a germaphobe, and an adult lol! but must be fun stuff for them!! We did go in and get some sweet treats, this establishment has a wide variety of their brand apple juice, cider, jam, apple pies, chicken pot pies, turkey pot pies, veggie pot pies, and much much more on the inside part as well as a mini restaurant. The outside we hit a food truck that had you're typical hot dogs, pretzels, corn dogs (we had to get a couple) I did hold off on the shaved ice this time maybe next time! Everyone here is extremely friendly and it's an overall wonderful enjoying time!!! Highly recommend for a summer day if you love apples and treats visit their gift shop, restaurant, want to pet some cute animals in and out of the barns sight see, and ride a train! Just about everything!!! Covers Apple Ranch is the best! And not only during summer, but seasonally! read more

WOW!!.. it's been 20-25 yrs since I've been to Covers.. amazing friendly service , along with tasty fresh foods.. I had the Meatloaf Sandi & the wife had one of the daily specials, tuna boat wrapped in crisp fresh lettuce. Chocolate milkshake was split for enjoyment as well.. We only were only able to finish 1/2, dinner would be the finisher for each. Oh my, the Dutch Apple pie is to die for.. going back soon for the homemade chicken pot pie.. I dont usually write 1 star reviews. I'll start with what was good. Our server (Logan) was really friendly. They were short staffed so it was taking a bit longer for the order. We were fine with it. Our server helped with a few suggestions as well. Also he helped us get train tickets which they usually sell inside the bakery, saving us time. The food was also good. We got the chicken sandwich, kids chicken tenders meal and the veggie sandwich. Everything was flavorful. Now for the part that surprised me and took me off guard. We got the train tickets from our server and headed out to board the train. We sat ourselves down in one of the spaces. The conductor seemed very friendly, talking to two families while checking their tickets. Having a fun conversation with each of the kids. Asking their names, making jokes. Then he came to us. My daughter extended her hand to give him the tickets. He didnt even acknowledge her. Just proceeded to lock our section for safety and without saying a word moved on to the next carriage where he immediately greeted them with a joyful smile. Similar thing happened while getting off. He was really sweet with all the other kids and just ignored my kids completely while my daughter was thanking him. I usually do not write about incidents like this when it happens to me. I brush it off and move on with my day. But this time it was with my daughter. I'm surprised how someone can do something like this to a child. I will not be coming back here. read more

Went to Covers for lunch. Their food is always delicious. Went in around 2:45 on a Saturday; so they were near the end of their day. They stop seating in the restaurant at 3pm. We were seated quickly and asked for drink orders. The restaurant was pretty full so it took a minute to place our food order, which worked perfectly for us because the others hadnt ever been here before. While they glanced over the menu I got a few things from their bakery counter before they sold out for the day. We got a peach & apple hand pies. Both were so good. For lunch I ordered the club sandwich with Avocado & fries, my grandma got a club sandwich no lettuce with thr house made chips, mom got a veggie sandwich and fries and my brother got the quiche with their chili. All the food was really good, the house made chips stole the show, if you are thinking about them as a side, dont think, just do. Seasoned and cooked to perfection. Half is their bakery and store the other half is seating for the resturant. Their decor is so cute and their apple soda & cider are delicious. They sell snacks, candy, and other goods. We got a gallon of cider to go, some candy and a few plant starts. I was able to take home a beautiful Persian Shield for a great price. Everyone enjoyed the food. read more

Oh my goodness I want to Thank my fellow Yelpers for your great reviews. My friends and I enjoyed everything from the Ambiance to th food & especially the people. The onion rings are and so was my turkey club. I cannot wait to go back again. We loved the train ride and the wide selection of various beautiful things to purchase. My absolute favorite was the warm Strawberry pie. It's the best I've ever had from the flaky buttery and oh so tender crust to the plump & tasty strawberries. I cannot wait to visit again and try the apple soda and buy some things that caught my eye. read more

We have always heard that this place is worth the stop if going to Black Oak Casino. Wife and I stopped today and we were glad we did. Very authentic food, everything is made from scratch! Wife had the Fabulous French Toast and I got the Cover's Skillet with sausage. The molasses syrup and berry jam that came with our meals were unbelievable. We are going to make this a regular breakfast stop if in the area. I also want to try their lunch menu as it has some great sounding sandwich options. Great service! They also have a bakery and gift shop that sells lots of cool items (including gallon jugs of unfiltered apple cider). You can pick up food/coffee through their drive through and they have a train ride for the kids. Stop here, you won't regret it! read more

The train and playground here is very cute! Recommended for little kids! The service on the food is a little slow, and I'm sure it doesn't help that the kitchen seems to be on the other side of the building. Staff was generally nice and accommodating. We ordered an assortment of brunch foods (nothing spectacular but good). We also got apple cider, an apple turnover, and a snickerdoodle for the road. The kids loved the cider which doesn't seem to be sweetened so we were quite happy with that. The apple turnover was also delicious. It had a very light flaky crust (not super butter in flavor) which complimented the filling which was full of apple chunks and not too sweet! I would come again for the baked goods, knowing they don't over-sweeten. read more

I wanted a nice hearty breakfast and this place was less than a mile away from Black Oak Casino. Super cozy bakery/diner/General and vintage store all in one. Perfect place for little kiddies too with a play ground area, train and farm animals to see outside. Walked away full with store bought syrup and baked goods. When ever I'm up at the cabin in Twain Harte I Have to make a trip to Covers. Since my child was younger we'd stop in for the animals & train ride and lunch or other times for a cider run. I'm addicted to their apple cookies and turn overs. Depending on the fruit that's in season (apricot is my fave) the pies and turnovers are just amazing. The crust is so flaky and flavorful. I also love their apple butter and their apple cider. I usually also come mid spring to pick up one of their tomato plants. The Covers Tomatoes are amazing!! So flavorful. Twain Harte market usually carries Covers Tomatoes when in season too. 2 weeks ago when I was up there I called close to closing time (was craving a turnover) to see what they had left and they still had some of their apple cider cookies and two different flavors of turnovers so they were kind enough to box up a few cookies and one apple and one cherry turnover for me so I can get down there and pick it up before they closed. The Customer Service. There is wonderful. I can't say enough good things about this place. read more

This is a really cool place. They have farm animals you can look at, a train that youngsters can ride and a restaurant/bakery. Their apple cider is fantastic. Both of my grandchildren that were with us thoroughly enjoyed the cider and bakery items. We had lunch and enjoyed it. I had the BLTA and it was on a very good grainy bread. My wife had the Apple Walnut Salad. It had a cider vinaigrette which is tasty. The place is spotless and the service spot on. It's a very beautiful setting that the whole family can enjoy. read more

I love the animals, Apple pie and lots of goodies there. The staff is very friendly. I highly recommend covers . They are so yummy!

Ordered pies over the phone for Thanksgiving. They offer gluten free or sugar free options. Employee on the phone was great.

This place is pretty fun. We came here early October so they had a small pumpkin patch. It wasn't overly crowded and had a lot of fun activities for the kids. They had a free mini hay maze and some free animals to check out. They did have a cool train ride which was extra. I don't remember the cost, but I recall it being pretty inexpensive. We did buy one of their apple pies which was good and the same with their Cider. Now, I'm not a pie nor a Cider connoisseur, but I like them both. Now, they didn't knock my socks off but to me most cider and apple pies tend to taste the same. I will say there was a freshness to it which was nice. Overall, great place to visit. They also had a little cafe on the property. We didn't try it, but it was pretty busy while we were there. read more

Phenomenal food and service. Love the quaint cute atmosphere. Highly recommend, great family place. Would definitely go again. 10/10

There pastry are delicious I give them a 10 come up and see for your self.when I walk into the building it smells so good. I'm not kidding.

My family has been coming here for decades: since it was Sonka's, and have never had a bad experience. Everyone is always so friendly and the food is enjoyable. The train has been a favorite for generations now, my babies always have a great time on it and the conductor is so friendly and sweet. All the staff have been super accommodating to my very elderly grandparents including my grandma who had Alzheimer's. The petting zoo is always a favorite. I received a celiac diagnosis a few years ago so haven't been able to eat the food in a while but vividly remember how good the mile high apple pie was, as well as Dutch apple. During my last visit I learned they have gluten free options now but only sell it by the pie not the slice, so I didn't get a chance to try it this time but will update my review if I have chance next time. I love what a charming time capsule this place is, how warm and inviting it is, and just everything about it. read more
