Called about homes in Wolf Ranch. When I told the sales person we are getting ready to retire her attitude changed dramatically. She was rude, insulting, and told me Georgetown wasn't for us. I also told her I am receiving cancer treatment and cannot work in the yard so we would like a patio or natural/hard shaped yard. instead of helpful suggestions she got even more unkind. What a cruel, disrespectful and discriminatory company! WE WILL NOT CONSIDER ANY HOME BUILT BY COVENTRY! If you or any family member has or had cancer please don't buy from them. read more

I signed a contract with Coventry for a house (not a custom build). I was traveling and outside the country. My realtor saw the house and assured me that it was an amazing house with small issues (smaller breakfast area). So I signed without touring the house in person. After I was back to country, I went to tour the house and saw that all the bedrooms rooms upstairs were really small, to the point that if you put queen bed you have around 1.5 feet space on one side to walk. This is the largest bedroom room upstairs, all other bedrooms are even smaller. I immediately informed the realtor and we started taking with our Sales person from Coventry at Sauls Ranch. I had paid 3% earnest money, which is 27,000$. First he told us our earnest money is transferable as long as we pick a inventory home. So we like one house, from inventory, and asked to move the money. Then he comes back and says now even with inventory homes you will loose 1% of your 3% earnest money (9000$) and cannot negotiate price of the house. The original house I paid for, had a 40 foot yard, backed into green belt, was on a Cul-De-Sac, was 3,212 sq ft. The new one I liked was 2877 sqft, no Cul-de-sac, backed into a road, smaller yard. So now I was expected to buy this new house which is much worse than what I paid for, for 921,000$. My original house was 900,000$. After I threatened to leave and buy with someone else, they finally came down to 885k$, which is still much higher than any house of this size on market. So essentially I am their hook, so they can ask for any amount of money or will just take my earnest money, 27k$ in cash, make no effort to make it work. This is my experience with them. Finally Coventry made no effort to make it work, finally I had the option to stay with them, buy an overpriced house (overpriced by 25k$ as per market rates) or walk away and loose 27k$ (and stay in a poorly designed home). They responded to my review by saying my concerns have been forwarded to management, but no effort to contact me. Beware! Their sales agent will mention a really low price during showing of the house, but as soon as you make an offer, the price will go up. If you put more earnest money, they have all leverage and will refuse to corporate with you. Never give them more than 1%. They will make up things like: "on new builds we ask for 4% since people will make offer on multiple homes". Reality is no buyer is going around putting 10k$ on multiple homes. Its a tool used by builder to assert leverage. read more

Highly disappointed in their warranty service. I bought my new built home in April 2019 and months later, I had a leak between two windows of my bedroom. I submitted a warranty request and they came out to "fix" it and years later, they still have not fixed the issue and every time I talk to someone they blow my husband and myself off. First it was COVID (emergency repairs only) then it was the company change and the system for warranty claims. When they finally came out to "repair it" then they said nothing was wrong and it was caulking on the other side. We sealed everything there after and STILL there's warping in between the windows and now there's visible mold. I had a contractor look and was advising to go through insurance because it may have leaked onto the flooring but guess what? My insurance company doesn't cover faulty install. I mean why should they right?! Wilshire/Coventry homes SHOULDVE fixed it within the year. Fixed it and made it right there after. It's now been 5 years and I'm contemplating on suing. I have every right and evidence of reaching out on and off throughout the years!!!! read more

I reporte a sinkhole 11 months after I built my house they only came and put some dirt on top and never bothered to see what was the cause of the sinkhole. two years later the same sinkhole is back. I called about 20 times until someone finally answered the phone and they saying that they don't covered that because it's a landscaping issue. I called a plumber and $507 later he's telling me the Sewage drain pipe is cracked and it's been there for a while he could see roots inside the pipe. The house is 3 years old and I reported the issue 11 months after I had closed on my house and they saying they not responsible. These people are very unprofessionals and they never answer the phones. read more

WATER DAMAGE IN A 20 day old NEW BUILD COVENTRY HOME: We recently (been 20 days) moved into a new home and our builder is Coventry Homes. When one of the upstairs shower was turned on, we had a major drain leak from one of our kitchen walls and thereby water damaging the entire living room floor. Plumbing company took a look and they had to cut open the sheet rock to figure what the problem was. To everyone's dismay the drain pipe was not even sealed thus causing this entire aftermath!! The restoration company came along and removed the baseboards and ripped the floor in the living room. They left a bunch of fans and de-humidifiers in the home and asked us to leave them running all day. These machines make crazy noise making it very difficult to live in the house along with added dry air due to these dehumidifiers. We are under warranty. The builder is acting very irresponsible inspite of our pleas and requests. They haven't even provided us with a timeline on when they expect to replace the floor. Currently we are left with a bunch of thundering fans with our floor open to the concrete ground. Coventry homes is a builder that you cannot trust. Very disappointed with the way they treat costumers. read more

Beautiful home, FALLING APART. When we first purchased the home, 2 years ago, showed them beginnings of cracks in patio, and a sink hole and drainage issues in the back yard. Dismissed it as "landscaping issue, and cosmetic, not covered by warranty."Since then, MULTIPLE cracks throughout the house, garage, & patio, through tiles, (24-74" long) in seams and joints of weight bearing walls, and front window has cracked. Doors are developing gaps at top of doorways. Closed our claim twice without action. Have hired a contractor to assess, says our house is sinking to the southwest. Still no response from builder. Have 2 more appointments within the next month with contractors. Cracks are growing daily. Next? An attorney. If you've had issues, you may want to join us in a class action lawsuit. read more

Since my initial review of 6/1/2022, I assumed the concerns I raised regarding contractors driving at high-speed through our neighborhood, very loud music coming from the work sites beginning early in the morning and lasting until after 7 PM at night and a general disregard for the existing residents of the neighborhood, that company management had taken steps to improve the behavior of their subcontractors. I was wrong. The lull in the high-speed driving, loud music, etc., was only the result of a suspension of work on the remaining few houses on our street. There were no workers at the site for several weeks. Well, they're back. Who doesn't enjoy coming home after work or school, sitting down to the dinner table with your family, hoping for a relaxing conversation, only to be drowned out by very loud mariachi music coming from the construction site across the street. After reading the reviews posted by others, I now realize that Coventry Homes likely has no supervisory or management staff on-site at their construction locations. The subcontractors are out there on their own. And as far as they're concerned, its just another empty construction site. Nobody lives in this neighborhood, right? If Coventry Homes did have adult supervision in our neighborhood, this problem could be solved quickly. One can only hope they finish up their work rapidly, leave our neighborhood...and never come back. read more

TLDR: Expensive, over-priced, rush jobs that are supposedly 'model-quality' homes that have a 1year warranty(which is like pulling teeth to get honored). My wife and I were initially excited to purchase our first home in this neighborhood. We were convinced by the salesperson of the quality, and that it would be a 'model quality' home, whatever that means... because apparently, its just a nice sales line. There were several red flags prior to closing that should have tipped us off: It took them a long time to build our house from signing, 15 months, our plumbing failed inspection at least 3 times, they cracked our upgraded counters in the building process, every time we checked on the house, there were piles of beer bottles in the Island and in the framing(which were drywalled in) and our doors were on the floor stepped on. Our neighbors that signed after us actually closed before us. When it was time to close, we notified them that we wanted to schedule an inspection, but they kept changing the date and then finally scheduled a closing and only left us 2 days to find an inspector. We were not able to find one on such short notice and were concerned about missing our closing, due to rising rates, and the assurance from Coventry and their project managers that it passed inspections and everything was okay, we closed that week figuring we could catch any issues with the warranty. Big mistake! Within the first 2 months, we had a clogged toilet backed up into the shower, the vendor, Mustang Plumbing came out and ran a roto tool to clear the line and figured it was construction debris. They billed Coventry, who refused to pay and to this day, will not come out and fix any other issues. I could list out issues all day long but ill keep it to some of the scarier issues we discovered from an inspection after closing: Base plate(Frame supporting side of house) is overhanging foundation by more than an inch and a half. Not even sure how the city passed this, to be honest. None of the siding was installed per manufacturers guidelines, voiding manufacturer warranty. HVAC unit in attic had a gash in it. Sprinklers were spraying against the foundation, but you apparently sign some legalese during closing giving up the ability to get them to even touch your yard or sprinkler system after closing. Several windows weren't properly sealed. Masonry was installed incorrectly and water doesent properly drain off exterior. The chimney is shorter than it should be by code. So you get backdraft. I thought there was an issue with the way it was installed because after the first time I used the fireplace, our house filled up with smoke. I even paid to have a chimney sweep come out and he could only suggest pushing the logs all the way back, which minorly helped. House was still filling up with smoke, so I stopped using the chimney. Well, apparently its supposed to be higher than any sloping within 10 feet radius, which it is not. There were a ton of other issues that I had, but those were the major ones that they basically refused to fix for one reason or another. The rail in the back is rusted and its only been a year. I paid for that upgrade. The mantle they made(which I paid $500 more for as an upgrade) for the fireplace was actually a box, which looks like they made out of fence posts. We kept asking them to sand it and got a lot of resistance and couldnt figure out why, until we finally just decided to replace it after we closed with our own contractor. When they pulled the 'mantle' off, they started laughing because it was hollow. It was some cheap box they stapled together and put up. For a little bit more, I was able to get a solid wood, walnut mantle, which is sanded and finished. Anyways, the point of all of this is to warn potential buyers to beware. Personally, I would look for ANOTHER builder. If you absolutely must go through Coventry/Dreamfinder homes, I would get every single thing in writing or you will have all these issues you cannot get fixed. DO NOT CLOSE without a full inspection. WORST experience ever. read more

Coventry Homes are beautiful, but that only is the exterior and is not worth the hassle. The construction manager is terrible it took two years of complaints to have him fired. He is deceptive and so are their practices. I'd never recommend them, I wish we knew before we traveled 2000 miles to relocate here. They have been nothing but a huge headache and they are absolutely dismissive and they do not follow through with warranty requests appropriately. There are many angry homeowners at Double Eagle Ranch. I'd suggest driving around and asking about issues if you see any owners outside. During final walk throughs, they have failed to turn on septic systems causing back ups in brand new homes and have caused tens of thousands in damage! In our home, the construction manager kept closing warranty requests for engineering issues and caused me to have severe anxiety when I knew it was a builder problem. He continued to dismiss my complaints. Months later his manager finally realized that there was in fact a drainage issue after they saw flooding, but there was already a swale and damage that they wouldn't agree to in my backyard from an adjacent home that they built and a roofline. This has caused water to come into our backyard/pool and erosion that they refuse to remedy. As I mentioned, we are not the only owners having issues. Don't buy with Coventry. Keep on driving, there are plenty of other builders out there with far fewer issues. read more

Poor quality construction, virtually no on-site management of sub contractors and the worst builder of any I've had the experience to work with in the past 20 years. Avoid this builder unless you enjoy "headaches" during the construction process and continuing after you move in. read more

Sent Angela an email almost two weeks ago still no response. We were interested in a model and were told by Jeff we were first on the list to contact when it became available. We checked in numerous times. I sent several emails. Drove by and saw it had been sold. I wouldn't use a company that doesn't follow up or doesn't stand by their word!!! read more
