The AC in my house, over the last few weeks, had been slowly deteriorating- keeping the house eventually at around 86 on a 108 day. I emailed Coventry and Gattis on a Sunday (7/20/23) and they called me back the next morning to schedule an appointment. Cedric came out that day and worked on my system for about two hours on a very hot afternoon. He was cheerful and professional despite climbing around my infernal attic and the hot side yard. After a decades old unit sprung multiple leaks I received quotes for thousands of dollars of repairs from every company that came out. When I requested replacement quotes in response to that - C&G came in about the middle of the pack. The sales rep was responsive and adjusted to my needs. Unfortunately the overall experience was very mixed, but in the end I got what I needed. I was out of town traveling, waiting to schedule the replacement day until I returned in a couple days. The salesman called and made a great sounding offer - someone had cancelled that day and they had the ability to upgrade me to a normally more expensive unit for the same price. Great! When I got home everything seemed to be working well. But I went into the attic to see what the new unit looked like installed, get the filter size to start ordering a subscription of replacements, etc. When I got into the attic - old components were strewn about, including the body of the old indoor unit. It was a mess. The attic space was admittedly messy and I was in the process of cleaning it up after recently buying the home. But they had left a real mess. Perhaps more concerning, I observed that on the indoor air handler the door, which is part of the pressure/supply side ducting, had a large hole in it. It looked like the installers had cut the door for the required breaker, in the wrong place. Then they cut it where it needed to be, and just left it. Air was rushing out the hole they left. Now I was on high alert, so to speak. I checked the outdoor unit, and they had installed it on a pad, on top of the existing pad. The two pads were not secured to each other and everything could be slid around with my bare hands. The conduit for the control wire? White PVC drain pipe. The unit was also not secured to the pad, which I later learned is more of a regional preference, but I had not been asked and the straps for external attachment had been cut. Here is where C&G pulled through in the end (mostly). I contacted the salesman, who looped in their service manager. Between the two of them they did everything they could. They were sincere and apologetic for the experience. The old equipment was fully removed and disposed of. The control wire outside was protected with metal conduit that was now strapped to the wall. The second pad was removed, and the outdoor unit was attached to the original pad. A new air handler door was ordered and after it arrived, installed. That's the only part that remains a real compromise from what should be. I have to keep the old air handler door to have the sticker available for model number, serial number, etc. So I've got this extra hunk of metal to store up there, which isn't a huge deal. But when you pay that much money for brand new equipment, it's disappointing to see substandard installation & clean up considered acceptable by the people doing the work. In conclusion, I can't recommend them, but I wouldn't say there's anything they can't or haven't been able to learn from this. They did a good job trying to take care of me, and that counts for something. read more

Purchased a $40K system in 2019. Very poor thermostats have required replacement and reprogramming several times since then. At $100 per service call, I'm thoroughly irritated at C&G and Trane. How can a system this expensive have such cheap, unreliable thermostats? Nothing can stop a Trane...........except a thermostat. I do not recommend Trane HVAC systems. read more

I found Coventry & Gattis professional, honest, and reliable. They gave me fair pricing on a replacement of my existing HVAC system and let me know what to expect at each step of the process. The guys supervising the install (Tarek & David) did a great job of keeping everything on track and making sure it was installed correctly. During installation they discovered the old flue pipe flange in the roof wouldn't fit the new heater. They hired a roofer at their expense to come out and install a new roof flange to make sure the job was done right. I would definitely recommend Coventry & Gattis to anyone needing service, repairs, or replacement of their heating or air conditioning equipment. Over the last 6 months, I've used Coventry and Gattis to install a tankless water heater, 2 old thermostats and today a furnace and A/C unit. I can't say enough about how great this company is...beginning to end. Lisa is incredible when you call to schedule an appt., Michael installed my water heater, Cedrick installed my thermostats, and Lorenzo and his group installed the furnace and a/c. A new AC was recommended, so we got a few estimates from companies with good reputations. Besides having the best reviews, C&G had the best price due to a manufacturer's discount. They also installed an adfitional return. The temps were in the 100s, and they had to spend 2 days in the attic installing the upstairs unit. Great experience with this company. My wife and I recently bought a house and had to replace four of our HVAC systems. After getting at least five quotes, we made the easy choice to go with Coventry & Gattis. Cedric took us through the process of deciding which units were best for our home and worked with us on pricing, including a discount for multiple units. Since installation the company has come back a handful of times to make minor adjustments and to help us with some thermostat issues (Nest issues, not issues with the work Coventry did). Chris is one of their techs and does an amazing job. Very knowledgeable, helpful, and just an overall nice guy. We have two more HVACs that will need to be replaced at some point, and there's no question we will be going with C&G when the time comes. read more

I am shocked that Coventry & Gattis does not have tons of great reviews. We needed 2 new air conditioners in the middle of summer. They came highly recommended from several friends. When they quoted us we really liked the fact that price was the price. They would not come back later asking for more money. We have an older house so this is very important to us for budgeting. They got us scheduled quickly and was on time. Our upstairs is an addition so it caused them some problems but they worked right thought them. Here is why they deserve 10 stars. Months later we got a puppy and he chewed the wiring for the outside units. We did not know until it rained and it took down our both units. They came out same day and fixed them for no additional cost. Three days after that the same puppy torn down the temporary fence and ate the wires again. I KNOW!!! I called them and they came right out again at no charge. That right there is customer service. We will use them for all of our air conditioning needs. And yes we fence in the air conditioners like Fort Knox to stop the now dog from his wire obsession. read more

I have hired them twice before for plumbing work. They do a decent job, but it's definitely not worth the outrageous pricing they charge these days. I paid $208 to remove two tiny balls of hair. Unless they are your last resort, find another contractor. read more

I am not impressed with the service. I was able to get the last appointment on a Friday night for my AC that was not blowing cold. I knew it needed Freon and the man who came out put Freon in it but said he had no time to do a leak test. He never even went in the attic to check the inside unit. Talking to other AC places, they told me a leak test is automatic and should've been done at the same time, and he definitely should have checked the inside. So $240 later and four weeks later now, I'm back in the same spot I was. read more

Our sales and technician rep (Jerry) came right on time, assessed the issue addressed our needs and did the job very quickly and charged me a very fair price. Infact, the actual price he quoted even though the install took extra time and parts the price didn't change and Jerry and his team did what was needed to be done to do the job right.
