During my conversation explaining details about the move and sharing my positive experience with a past interior designer with her She basically ended the conversation informing me " she doesn't do anything that is far out in date, Too Occupied with jobs that she is doing and since I only had a video of my new apartment she basically said she couldn't help and wished me luck. She has been my go-to person for just about any design decision made in my home from selecting paint colors, tile, hardware, carpet, moulding, art placement...and she knows all the reliable vendors to get the work done. She's got impeccable taste and constantly saves me from my own impulse decor decisions. Moving into a new house, my wife and I were looking for a color coordinator to help us pick out colors for our walls. Valory came highly recommended to us by a friend and we were very impressed by her. She has a great personality, is easy to work with, came very prepared to our meeting, and e-mailed our final color choices so that it was easy to communicate it to our painter. Valory is amazing. I worked with her a few months ago to select colors for my house. She really took the time to get to know who I was before she started selecting colors. She picked great colors and let me know where I could be bold and where I shouldn't. She seemed to know my tastes even better than I did. What I really like about her was that she really wanted to make sure that I liked the colors. She didn't try to push me into a style that I didn't like. The best part was that I bought samples of the paint and tried them out in my house. A few of them didn't work for me- I emailed her and she told me that she'd come back for free and work with- She worked with me for about an hour! I started to change my mind about colors later and she came back again for an hour (for free) to help me work through the colors. Working with Valory was fantastic...she is very personable, professional and fun to work with! In our North Scottsdale home, we completely remodeled floors, countertops, paint colors, a fireplace façade, and window treatments and some bedding. We kept existing cabinetry, which might have created a challenge with the existing wood color, but working within our goals and budget parameters, Valory really pulled together the 'whole' look for us. She has a spectacular eye for color and made very helpful suggestions in the process of blending our style preference with influential trends. Valory worked with my girlfriend and I with our complete interior painting (6-8 colors) of a 2400 sqft house we purchased last month. She was prompt, professional, and knowledgeable. She listened to our existing preferences and gave us ideas on how to incorporate those themes. After our first meeting with Valory, we had a diverse palette that both of us liked. Valory made a point of saying that, if the colors didn't turn out the way we hoped, she would return and help us again--free of charge. Well, as luck would have it, 2 of the colors we picked simply looked a lot different on the walls than it did in our heads. I reached back out to Valory and she was immediately available to pick colors again. Her second, COMPLIMENTARY consult was just as thorough and helpful as the first. She helped my girlfriend and I walk away with a completely revised palette that we were confident would turn out well--which it did. I've worked with Valory since 2004 and wouldn't even dream of making a color- or design-related decision without consulting her. My first project with her was getting rid of the all-off-white walls of my townhouse. I wanted a lot of bright color but was unsure of how to pick the right colors and arrange them in a way that was complementary. Val knew how to do both, and I ended up with a solution that never would have occurred to me and that I loved. Then, not long after and unexpectedly, I decided to move to a single-level house. I wasn't done with my colors, so Val helped me to get a similar look and feel with slightly modified colors, necessitated by the lower ceilings. She also helped me pick window coverings, place existing artwork (some of it long unused), and arrange the furniture. Again, fabulous solutions that I never would have thought of. The biggest miracle was her suggestions about how to remodel the master bathroom and transform it from an old, ordinary, ugly, and uninteresting space to a warm, inviting, and user-friendly one. Since then, she has helped me pick exterior colors, frames for a pair of paintings, tile for the entryway and kitchen, and new colors for the master bedroom and bath. I read multiple reviews on Yelp looking for someone to help me add color and and a "wow" factor to our formal dinning/living room, do a little updating in our family room and redo our powder room.
