When you book a dinner party of 12 ..yes you might expect a little wait time. 2 hours was just too much. Servers werent friendly and there was no checking in with drinks or water or offered anything. Had to ask if we could order drinks. Apps would have tasted great if they were warm. Food came out very slow some people were almost finished as others were being served. Some of us got cold food. Food was not special. Servers again left us alone with no check-in and we had to ask for water refills. No it wasnt busy it was Tuesday at 630 Dissapointing Not a pleasant experience for first time patrons. BTW i hate listening to a radio. in a restaurant... read more

Went there last night to see what the hype is about from tiktok. It's a brand new restaurant just opened 2 months ago. Food was ok. I've had way better. I ordered salmon coconut but it was way too mild for a real Indian like me. Drinks were horrible especially both rum punches I had. (Cove rum punch and coco rum punch) I had to give it back to the waitress telling her it tastes like robitussin The decor is beautiful 10/10! So if you're going just to take pictures, I guess it's a nice place. Music was mostly R&B. I would visit again and give another chance sometime in the future. read more

I chose Cove for my birthday celebration. I had a party of 6 originally but only 5 of us dined in for the celebration. Upon arrival I noticed that they were still setting up for the dinner rush, this was perfect as it was raining. The restaurant is gorgeous. Florals all over and very clean. The chair comfortable and plenty. For a smaller space it did not seem very crowded at all. The hostess was pleasant and sweet. As my guests arrived the server took our orders and was very attentive. For food I chose the coconut salmon. It was yummy but a little spicy, so if you are looking for the coconut milk to take some of the spice out it def doesn't lol. The calamari we had as an appetizer was so good we ordered two. The drink strong and delicious. The music was also playing so you could dance a little in your seat. Would def recommend but please get a reservation and make sure all your party is on time because they are very busy. read more

Gosh I have to update my review . Came back for my bday and sat outside . Waitress was overwhelmed . I ordered oxtail and grits and got 3 pieces of meat . I sent it back and it took over 30 mins to get a new plate. I called the manager over and she was not friendly or helpful . Additionally, the back could be fixed up a bit more to hide garbage cans etc . This was a downer for my birthday:( read more

It was good did brunch for my sister 40th birthday the food was good planning on doing this again before my birthday in December. I like cove to a degree. Food wise. You won't be disappointed and neither will you for drinks. I've recommended this place many times. Service isn't that great. Staff isn't that attentive. Maybe one or two nice ppl with the many times I've been there. They opened up the backyard garden which is a vibe as well. Will recommend but the service is the reason why I don't plan on going back. read more

The Resturant was packed. I believe they overly book the larger parties. It should be a time limit for each table after the groups was finished they was seated for an additional 20 minutes or so. One host told us they couldn't rush anyone but another host came to my group and said we need this table. Of course, I told her we waited 30-45 minutes for the table. So we didn't move. Food: it was party of 6 and we each got a different appetizer. They all were delicious jerk wings (just enough spice), crab cakes (slightly spicy), fritters, shrimp, calamari (it wasn't chewy) Entrees: Oxtail Rasta pasta, veggie rasta pasta, salmon, grilled chicken rasta pasta, shrimp rasta. Everything was delicious. Drinks: pomegranate martini, tropical martini, strawberry margarita, rum punch. All drinks was decent. 1st batch of rum punch was very strong (squeezed lemon and lime it was fine) 2nd batch was sweet. Overall nice place, large groups I wouldn't recommend for limited seated. read more

I have been to this restaurant several times and have always enjoyed my food and the atmosphere. However, I went for brunch on Sunday and was extremely disappointed and disgusted with my food and services. My meal was cold, the waffle was soggy not cooked and chicken was cold. The menu advertised a salad, appetizers and entree for $50 I never got a salad, when I asked the waiter he said it didn't come with my meal. Which is BS!!! the waiter never asked why I didn't eat my food, he never came back to refill our drinks (sodas) it was just horrible service. I understand that brunch can be a busy time but they still must make sure that customers are happy, and the food is HOT! read more

We had a great experience last night. Service was excellent from start finish, especially from Anna our server. She was on point. Knowledgeable of the menu ,polite and full of energy. The crowd is mixed, the music was good and lets not forget the food. Flavorful, tasty and large portions. We ordered rasta pasta with shrimp, curry goat and red snapper in coconut sauce. With fried banny in sauce All was very good. read more

My fiancé and I were familiar to the restaurant/lounge that was formally known as "Island Taste". Reminiscing on our times there, we chose to give Cove a try to support and relive our days. Upon entering, I took a great liking to their remodeling, reupholster &, new decor. As we were seated, everyone was friendly & polite. The food and drinks came out at a decent time. My fiancé ordered their jerk pork & sides meal & found it tasty and nicely plated. I ordered my typical go to, Rasta Pasta w| Shrimp and was content w| my meal. The drinks definitely sold me on my return ticket. I ordered the green grotto. If your a fan of bitter cocktails definitely recommend this blend. My partner ordered the Cove rum punch & he was so happy because if you know Island Taste you know their rum punch had a good kick to it ! All in all, I appreciated the staff; managers and owners included answering our questions & explaining how their introducing fine dinning & sexy date nights. On July 21 we choose to celebrate my Goddaughter sweet 16 at the place. What a fucking disaster. The wait staff read untrained and less than professional. The reservation was booked a month in advance for 40 people WITH a prefixe menu. It took the resturant 3 hours to bring out the appetizers with ease all overly seasoned with Walkerswood seasoning. 4 hours later after we went into the kitchen the entrée started coming out of which the wait staff started yelling who had the oxtail who had the salmon...... do damn unprofessional. They even brought out food that we didn't order. Everyone even the kids had to pack there food in foil containers and was unable to dine at the table because the kids had a party bus that at this point was waiting outside for over 5 hours. My Goddaughter didn't get to blow out her candles and due to the time restraint was forced to leave the so call resturant in years. Cove you have absolutely ruined a monumental birthday due to the lack of your unprofessional business practices. read more

Yes ... it was worth it .. The ambiance is pleasant.. Waiters are very sociable.. I will definitely, have a return visit.

Service was TERRIBLE. They couldn't get the music to play, and when they did, the bass from the speakers was EXTREMELY loud. The workers was also in the back arguing instead of being attentive to their customers. Waiter Jay was not knowledgeable in the food at all. He forgot to put some of our orders in. I ordered a pina colada and it was watered down. For appetizers, we ordered a crab cake which was too soft and mushy on the inside. For entre, we ordered 1 oxtail rasta pasta, 1 shrimp rasta pasta and a jerk salmon with garlic mash potatoes. They brought out the Jerk sauce 7 mins after they brought out the salmon. I thought the jerk was supposed to already come on top of the salmon and not on the side. Also the garlic mash potatoes was missing the garlic smh. For the oxtail rasta pasta, the oxtails were not falling off of the bone. But taste wise, it was ok. The shrimp for the rasta pasta, was not cleaned and deveined. Overall, you can't pay me to go back. Their slow and unprofessional service is insane. Please find some where else to eat. I would never go back there even if it was a free trip read more

i had horrible service here. Came in at 4 something for brunch but then I didn't want anything on the that menI. So when I asked the server for the regular menu she mentioned it's not until 6pm. So I decided to have a drink and hookah to hold off. At this now it's minutes to 6pm and another sever came to take the payment for the hookah. We had to sit and wait the other regular, remind you another couple came in after me and go the 6pm menu already. Once we asked for the menu the server still didn't come and asked us what we wanted. I added up leaving there about 6:25pm and went to McDonalds. Thats how hungry I was smh read more

Food was good. Service was good was busy for Brunch but in all it was good. Ambiance was good they had music playing.

We went to the Cove with a very large group for Easter brunch. There were 21 of us, including 7 kids. There was a DJ, the service was top tier and the food was delicious. The porridge and fried chicken were the stars of the show. The kids chicken tenders meal was seasoned to perfection. I'd suggest getting the oxtail with rice instead of grits and skip the shrimp and grits altogether. If you crave seafood, go with the snapper. We'll definitely be back! read more

Where to start? 2 stars is for the interior design because it's undeniably beautiful inside. I never felt more obligated to write a review. Ive been here several times and always endured the horrible customer service but last night was the last straw! They had comedy night and I wanted to do something local with a friend who I haven't seen in forever. Comedy started at 7pm and there was no comedy because thier was a private Xmas party going on. How are you going to have a comedy show with no comedy?? Well The private event decided to blend in with the general public around the bar and decided at the start of the comedy show they only wanted to hear music and dance and that's fine as they should but the management should have redirected them back to the private party side so they could celebrate the way they wanted to and let the general public whom most of us were there to celebrate birthdays and enjoy the comedy show. Instead management said they didn't want to hear it and stopped the show which left the returning customers watching the private event have fun. It was so disappointing and quickly felt tricked into coming. When they finally decided to let the comedy show start 2 hrs later the crowd that came for comedy left by then and the poor comedians tried to give a show over the private event while they were talking and laughing. It was super disrespectful to the comedians and if I was the comedians I would never perform at that establishment. I felt super bad for them to endure that!!! Throw away the entire wait staff! The customer service is always horrible everytime I've been. You always get that ghetto customer service like you're on their time and they have better places to be. The waiters don't care about their guests and their attitudes suck!!! The food was okay and comes out cold. Our drinks took super long to come and when you asked about it you were given attitude. One of the wait staff said we are closing give me your drinks. You know the ones that took so long to come in the first place. The only way I would go back is if they changed their entire staff and replace them with people with actual hospitality skills. This place sucks and if you complain they basically will show you how they don't care what you said. read more

I wish I can give no stars. Overall the service was horrible. I arrived at 8pm and was seated at 8:05pm. The waiter came and took our orders and returned around 5-10 with our drinks. For the next 45 mins we waited for our appetizers which was a house soup and mussels. That shouldn't take to long but it seemed busy so I didn't mind. However, for our entrees, mind you we sat down at 8:05pm and wasn't served until 9:25pm. We repeatedly ask how long and was told it's coming right up. I felt we had to chase the waiter and wait for him to pass to ask for something. He never came to check on us and we he finally did check on us it was around 9:45pm. I started to get upset and just went to the bar to close out the check. The nerve of this establishment to ask for a tip is disgusting. I would never come here again or recommend this place to anyone. To do better is to know better. Shriner service should be number one. read more

My friends and I were looking forward to try this restaurant since it changed from Island Taste. Let me just say not a great experience under the new name. Not only did my reservation not go through but the service was not existent. Only one waiter servicing 10 tables. I felt bad for him. Our drink order took an hour to come and by the time our food came it was cold. Not sure if I'll make another visit here unless they have better management and more staff. read more

Same owners from Island Taste, they must have gotten a PPP loan and reopened under another name. I came in on a Wednesday night. The waitress (heavy set woman with short hair) and owner are pretending that we are invisible and don't greet or seat us. A gentleman did. The waitress is serving every table but ours and makes the gentleman take our orders. He was thoroughly confused, but pleasant. Our food comes out on a cart. We were half way through the meal when our drinks came. My friend noticed immediately that her drink didn't have Casamigos as requested. She requested it be taken off the bill and requested Moscato. The waitress then began to argue him..insisting she made it right. Strange that she couldn't take orders but could help the bar that wasn't busy. Food was mediocre, drinks need work and customer service is horrible! Same nonsense as before. Don't waste your time! Try Dunn's River in Rockville Center. You are greeted with smiles and professionalism there. read more

Let's just say this is not a good place to have brunch.First and foremost I set reservations on there website and I did not receive a confirmation or anything. I called the day before and no answer, I had to keep calling back to back on Sunday on May1,2022 at 1pm because that's when they open. The young lady answered and told me my name was not on the list for reservations. So I had to redo reservations for 2:30pm. Once I arrived at 2:10pm. We were seated by a women that I thought was the host but she was the manager the entire time.(I learned that as I was walking out the door,by asking someone behind the bar ,the manager name because she never came to the table and acknowledged that I requested for her). The reason she was requested because me and my sister came there to celebrate my 27th birthday and I chose this place as something nice and elegant. Our experience was horrible and disrespectful, we waited 20min until a server came to our table, but if I didn't say anything he was going go to a party group that came 25 minutes after us.mind you it was only me and my sister (2 pp) compared to 10 people. We waited for our food for over two hours and 30 mins close to the time brunch was supposed to end. The couple that was sitting next to us they came after and they received there appetizer before ours came out. Requested for the manager and nobody came, asked for water and a different glass for my sangria, the sangria was hot (eww) had to go through two people asking for a new glass from my mimosas. No acknowledgment from the waiter. We left hungry and unsatisfied. Then one of our servers was the manager the entire time and she didn't even come to apologize or say anything to us. We should have been walked out after an hour has passed but we have them a chance but never again. read more

I came here for my mother's first Heavenly Birthday celebration. It was a party of 11. So it was a decent amount of us. It was about 75 degrees outside, but they had the AC on blast like it was 90+ degrees. Everyone was freezing and asking for the ac to be adjusted. We were seated at our scheduled time, however, nobody came to us for like 30-40mins. Some of us finally got some water, but nothing else. After I flagged down a server, we finally got to place a drink order. They gave us a round of complimentary drinks. Cool! Thanks! But the server/runner was extremely rude and got the orders wrong. So now my sister and I went with out our 1st drink for another 30-40mins. No food order has been taken either. Nobody came to check if we wanted a 2nd round of drinks or water, NOTHING! Our server comes and takes our food orders. Again, waited for like 30mins for appetizers to come out. AND all the appetizers didn't make it to the table. Mind you they don't sell anything that is NOT on the brunch menu, including rounds of shots. So my brother and sister had to go to the bar to order a round of shots for us and bring it to the table. I get into it with the runner, because he was rude. The manager, offers me two free drinks, cool. But the food comes out and my brother never received his app. My uncle had to leave and NEVER got his food. My two sisters and oldest brother had to wait an additional 15-20min for their fish! So everyone else is practically done by time they got their food. It was just a disaster! The ambiance was nice and the music was great. But that is where it stops unfortunately. I had plans to come back and support this establishment, but after this experience, I will not frequent this establishment again. The food was mediocre. But that would not have kept me away. Now on the flipside, our server Stephan did sit with my sis and I and hear out our grievances. I appreciate him taking the time to see why his customers were unhappy. He gave us a free round of shots at the end. Lol he was adorable. Maybe we caught them on an off day. The Manger was understanding and did try to remedy things, but it change much. Our brunch should not have been over three hours. read more

I came back a week later after coming to the restaurant I gave 5 stars the week before but this time the service alone was horrible. Our waiter was terrible and slow! A little over 25 minutes later he came to our table and I had to tell him 10 minutes after that to give us water. I ordered the jerk salmon but instead received jerk snapper and the kitchen staff told me if I were to wait for my original order it would take an additional 30 minutes. I took it because it was 1.5 hours after sitting down. We didn't get served plantains that come with the meal. I really wanted this place to be our spot but the service was catastrophic for me to ignore. I love supporting black owner businesses but I asked to speak to the owner who was there 3 times but never showed up and complained to the hostess who was a 50 something year old woman she didn't seem to care at all. If the owner had showed up I would have at least respected that and avoided this review but I felt unheard. Try hard Cove Restaurant. You can do it! read more

I will start this review off with praise. The food was amazing which is why I'm sure they are still in business. Everything else was a NO!!!! The slow service definitely is what caused me to write this review. We had a nice option of fish off of the prefixed menu that says 3 courses but there was only appetizers and entree and a side was considered the 3rd course. After waiting over two hours from ordering both appetizers and an entree at the same time, the appetizer is what arrived. When our food finally arrived an additional 45 min later our waiters didn't know who got what. Then as they placed the food down with items missing they only then let us know they ran out of certain food. Not prior to giving us an opportunity to change side options of our own preference to choose. The manager knew all this was happening bc we complained. This spot is best as a to go option simply because the chef put their foot into each meal but the wait wasn't worth going through again. read more

Went to a party on 11/5/22, food and service were good, and the food was hot and fresh. . The restaurant is laid very awkwardly but that is not really important. The flooring is very slippery, and you can bust your head open. You must walk very carefully if you have on heels. The bathroom is slippery as well. The biggest turn-off is I loved the Codfish fritters and went home thinking that I would order some for the next day. You could not get through to the restaurant. It took over 30 minutes to reach someone on the phone once I did. They said there is no takeout during brunch...really? What kind of place is this? I called back, wanting to place an order for later this evening. No one ever picked up the phone. I think they need to hire someone to manage their phones. I won't be ordering from here ever. I am good; that is a big turn-off for me. read more

I went to this restaurant lastnight to celebrate a friends bday dinner. The decor was amazing and the bathroom very spacious. Now let's get to the good stuff, the food.
