TL;DR/The Short Version: Cute little cafe. Ambiance is nice but I wasn't wowed by my cinnamon bun or tea. The Long Version: My husband and I met my husband's sister and her husband here to hang out before we went to see a show at the Studio Theatre. I got a cinnamon bun ($3.50) and a herbal tea ($3.50), and my husband got a black coffee ($2.75). The cinnamon bun was unremarkable in my opinion. It was just ok, maybe even a bit dry, and also on the thin side. Not thick and fluffy. My tea was just a tea bag from Four O'clock Teas (I got Turmeric Cinnamon, which at least is a more unusual flavour that I haven't seen in stores). The temperature was nice and hot, but it was just bagged tea from a brand sold in health food stores. The inside of the cafe is nice. We sat in the front room near the service counter, but there are back rooms that are a bit more quiet. I would say the ambiance is the nicest thing. Service was pleasant. Maybe some of their other baked goods have more oomph and maybe their crafted drinks are special. My experience was just ok, but it might have been what I ordered. I love this coffee shop! The coffee is so good and the staff are great at helping you pick a beverage when you're not really sure what you want. The pastries are so fresh and so tasty. It's really hard to choose one, so sometimes you just have to get more than one. There's indoor seating, patio seating and seating by the water! I will definitely return to this café when I'm in town! read more

Came to Perth, Ontario (not Australia) for a short trip. With covid still around, travelling by plane is not much of an option right now. What a beautiful town! We discovered this cute coffee shop on the main shopping street that had lots of gift shops and restaurants. We got the latte, caramella and apple cider which were all really good. If you have a sweet tooth, you should try the caramella. The sitting area is quite spacious so you don't have to worry about social distancing. Highly recommended! read more

Came second time after a few years, I remember this place as one of my top coffee roasters. However, very disappointed this time. The espresso was off the balance, overly bitter and flavourless, or I should say it tasted like charcoal. It is ok (average) for cappuccino. We also ordered a scone that was actually pretty good. But for a coffee roaster can't make espresso right, I have to say it is no longer a good place to get coffee. read more

Coutts & Co. moved to another old stone building right on the main drag of Perth, overlooking the water. What a beautiful spot! They used to be located in the mall down the street from the wool shop called Unraveled, and that is where I first saw them. However, this seams to be a smaller spot. It's got a funky vibe to it, the store is not square and boxy but an unusual shape. There are washrooms within easy access Watch for daily specials - and keep an eye on the time of day... we were disappointed that we didn't get a specific special because it was only offered in the morning. But we got sandwiches and coffee, and it was good. read more

Very nice quaint coffee shop located in an old stone building on Wilson Street E in Perth. The ambience is perfect for a road trip coffee break when you drive from Ottawa. What makes the place even better us it's location right beside the river. With the afternoon sun streaming in the windows, I can see this place being a fave hangout during the spring. You can take your coffee and yummy treat out to dit on the benchmark s beside the river. This place even gas an atrium in the back that looks like a garden. It's within walking distance of one if my fave wool stores, Unraveled, which Judy moved from Merrickville. I will come back again during the summer. Just be aware that the tiger brownie has coconut in it. Wish I knew that before I ordered and bit into it. read more

Nice looking cafe in an old stone building so I found a table, plugged in my laptop and went to the front counter to order a drink and maybe a bite to eat. I was there to work for an hour so I asked if there was a Wi-Fi pass code and was told rather rudely that the Wi-Fi was for paying customers only, did I want to buy something? Hmmm, I did but now I'm not so sure... I went ahead and purchased a coffee but the experience left a really bad taste. The coffee was okay but I found the attitude really offensive & unnecessary, especially in this nearly empty cafe. I get that most places don't want folks sitting around all day with a glass of water and I don't blame them, but there are far better ways to handle that exchange than losing a customer before you've even had the chance to serve them. read more

What a lovely cafe! We stopped here on our way home from Quebec, and it was perfect for a light lunch. I had an excellent Thai chicken soup (with coconut, rice, veggies, and just the right amount of heat) with the fluffiest, tastiest whole grain croissant I've ever had. The coffee was also very good (had the medium roast). The service was very friendly and kind. The decor is a nice mix between homey and funky, and the cafe has a number of connected but discrete rooms (at least one has armchairs), so I imagine it doesn't get too loud even when busy. If I lived in this town I would totally come here regularly to eat, have coffee, and read/write. read more

Great staff, great coffee roasted in-house. The hours are terrible but typical for Perth. Nothing stays open late. This coffee shop's greatest asset is its location: right next to the park with a beautiful indoor courtyard, makes it a great spot to stop for coffee year round. Just a note that they no longer own a sister store across town (formerly the Factory Grind). It is a separate cafe now. read more
