I completed the order form asking for Delivery Dec 18. When I confirmed with my family they didn't receive it I called. I had all my info from the original order, I was abruptly told they don't deliver outside of Ottawa to a bedroom community. I said that would have been helpful information the month prior when they took my money. The person was rude and saying there aren't delivering at all in Dec. again then don't take orders. They did process the refund upon request but I doubt I would have unless I followed up. I would never use again! On the bright side the AnnaStubbe location had exceptional customer service and more then willing to help!

The server greeted me right away and asked if I wanted regular hot chocolate or spicy. I chose spicy (I love spicy anything)! It took maybe 10 minutes to make, which is a while, but you can browse the store in the meantime; the variety of chocolates was stunning! They also have 3 types of chocolate cakes you can purchase as slices. I chose to take it to go, but if you have the hot chocolate there, they are served in tall pretty glasses. The hot chocolate was piping hot, and quite rich; the spices really crept up on you, and made drinking it an interesting experience!

My first time to Almonte. Spur of the moment road trip with the dog after our short west end hike…read more No plan, no agenda. This was the first place of interest I saw from the road and I about 2 wheeled it in the lot like the Dukes of Hazzard. Going inside made me rethink my life priorities of keeping sugar in my life to a minimum and skipping all desserts. It was an adorable place with lots of offerings, tables to sit at... you can see through the clear windows all the hard work they do in creating. Also, there were cute things/props everywhere. Sooo many chocolate bars. 3 sample types of their yummy bark. It was busy enough and staff were great. Very clean. First thing I grabbed were the dark chocolate covered cherries. The smell of the chocolate in the air was killing me so I caved on those. I also grabbed a 500ml jar of wildflower honey. I love honey. Never can have enough. At the counter, one of the nicest looking lemon squares was looking right me. I had to have it. Ate it next day, it was one of the best I've ever tasted. I can count tart lemon as a savory, no??? ;) I managed to skip the truffles - they too were staring at me through the clear case. Not ordering a Mexican hot chocolate was rough but it wasn't going to go well with the beer flight I was going to have across the street. Glad I found this place and it will always be a place to return to. Did I mention the Gelato??????????

For this particular visit, I discovered that Purdy's also makes white chocolate salted caramel, and in particular, a variety of broken pieces priced to sell, so I tried this. An excellent excuse to shop Canadian! Oh my! Salted caramel in white chocolate is also sinfully good! I will definitely be back! Hopefully not every week, though... my teeth would not forgive me for caving in so often!!

Although they've expanded across Canada, they still make all their chocolates in Vancouver. They use 100% sustainable cocoa. This location is in Carlingwood Mall and is similar to other locations inside malls in layout and size. They have a chocolate fountain and the sell ice cream as well. Before the Covid-19 Pandemic (which we are still in at the time of the writing of the review) this location would hold chocolate making classes. I never took them, but they sound like fun. Purdys is famous for their hazelnut cream chocolates that are shaped like hedgehogs. The chocolates are a bit pricey (a box of 18 goes for $22, and a box of 25 goes for $32) but they taste delicious. They have some cool flavours like "Goat Cheese & Chardonnay," Chai Tea Caramel, and Chili Pepper. They also have more traditional flavours like strawberry cream and mint. I'm a fan :)

TLDR: Fieldhouse Bakery came highly recommended as the place in Perth for lunch. It did not…read moredisappoint. Sandwiches were tasty, albeit a bit pricey. The cruffin was decadently delicious. One of my colleagues is from Perth and when I told her my husband and I were doing a day trip to Perth as part of our staycation, she recommended we have lunch at Fieldhouse. I love bakeries, so we followed her recommendation. The place is a lot smaller than I expected. It only has seating for 8 inside (4 tables of 2) and 4 picnic tables outside (so seating for about 16 outside). I got the Chicken and Brie sandwich ($14.75) and added a side salad for my husband and I to share ($5). My husband got the Ham and Swiss sandwich ($14.25) and we also got a cruffin ($5.25) for dessert, but ended up taking it home. Before we left my husband got an Americano to go ($3). I enjoyed my sandwich. The bread was crusty and held the ingredients of the sandwich well. The peppery arugula in the sandwich went well with the chicken and Brie. I was thrilled that the chicken was real roasted chicken breast meat (and not deli meat, lol). The aioli was flavourful but a bit excessive in quantity for my tastes. It dripped onto the plate with every bite, lol. The salad was leaf lettuce, shredded cabbage and carrots. Vegetables were fresh. I asked for the dressing on the side and it came as requested. The dressing was a creamy dressing and on the runny side. I'm glad I asked for it on the side, as I used only about a third of it. I had a bite of my husband's sandwich and it was ok, but I much preferred mine. He liked his better, so it all worked out. His was on a fluffier and softer bread. The ham was deli ham, but it tasted ok. The Swiss cheese was nippy. Service was pleasant. My husband enjoyed his Americano. We had the Brownie Cruffin at home. The pastry was flakey and delicious. The chocolate filling was like a rich chocolate pudding. It was very decadent. Overall we enjoyed our meal, but I found it a bit pricey, but I guess in today's economy, this is what you pay for sandwiches. Street parking only. (125)
