As a man who will travel unlimited miles for food, you should be surprised that I have never had a…read morepasty before. Especially since I live in Michigan and travel north frequently. For the longest time, I thought they were only things of fairytales, like unicorns or pockets. But you can't travel 8 feet in the UP without being beckoned by a pasty shop. And because I'm me, I completely missed my opportunity until I was at the Michigan/Wisconsin border. But fear not! I wouldn't be writing this review if I HADN'T had one! So this pasty establishment was quaint. It had a drive through, a table in the inside and a table on the outside. I mess with that. Sometimes you don't need the extras. Now, as I learned about the pasty, it seemed like the most basic one was beef and rutabaga. Now, everybody knows that nobody knows what a rutabaga is. It's just one of those things that show up in recipes. And because I'm trying this for the first time, I want the full effect. So bring on the baga! Ok, so, since it was nice outside, I decided to sit on the picnic table. They gave me my pasty on a plate with utensils and I ordered 4oz of brown gravy to go with it. I split that bad boy down the middle like the Red Sea and waterboarded it with my gravy. Took a deep breath and dove right in. Listen. I still might not know what a rutabaga is, but I didn't let a single little square of them escape. Everything was hot, the crust was flaky, the gravy thiccc. Why did I never know these things were basically pot pies? I LOVE pot pies. It was gone in minutes. Just wiped out. Like Thanos snapping his fingers. There was nothing I didn't like about it. It was everything a first timer should have experienced. Pot Pie's Cute Older Sister, Pasty 10/10. A couple side notes: If you see my photos, you see I chose milk as my drink of choice. That's because I haven't had milk in three days and I was getting cranky. The only ONLY thing I would suggest, is they invest in either heavier duty plastic utensils or metal ones. Made it a little hard to cut into the bottom where the crust is rolled together. Certainly not something important enough to lose a star over, because honestly, you could punt this thing into a brick wall and I would happily eat it off there.

Small very well run Pasty shop, seats 6 inside, terrific fun staff, meals delivered in a jiffy with…read morea smile. The Empanada is exceptionally delicious, the Beef + Rutabaga is 5 out of 5, wouldn't change a thing -- crusts are thin, delectable on their own, well-filled, cooked to perfection! A must stop for "pass-tees"

I tried pulled pork mac and cheese. My daughter tried the chili mac. My grandma had a soup and sandwich. My dad tried a burger. All had great flavor and the service was quick. The staff were friendly. Service was great. They had a place set up in the main dining room for kids to color and draw. My grandma loves the place, so we will keep coming back.

But they said they were out. This was at around 5:30. The meatballs were ok. But more fillers than meat There was not a lot of sauce and was chunky and bland This came with soup and salad bar. Romaine lettuce was the choice meh. But no French dressing. Not everyone likes ranch. Lots of soup choices only one I like was the French onion, that's on me. But it was ok My husband had was was supposed to be award winning chili. He said he has had much better at many other places in the area. He had the tenderloin which he said was good and he did get a good portion of French fries Service was so so. It wasn't busy just a few tables and it took awhile to get everything. Sorry we won't be back. There are so many other supper food places in the area and cheaper for what we had
