We stayed at the Courtyard Rye with the rest of the wedding party for my friend's wedding. In one sentence, I would describe this location as clean, modern rooms with the worst front desk staff I've seen in hotel history. When my boyfriend and I arrived, there was only one group being helped by the front desk staff. I went to the restroom and came back and they were still not done. And then we waited for a while longer. How hard is it to check one person in? Well, I found out firsthand. The system somehow didn't capture my Marriott Bonvoy account. Front desk staff struggled to tab through their archaic-looking system to enter basic information. Later on when my friend arrived, they dealt with similar delays and were stuck in the lobby for quite some time. Staff did NOT accommodate the request for our wedding party to all be on the same floor. Also the staff member she spoke with did not know if they could get her a high chair to do make up, and needed to ASK THEIR MANAGER, who wasn't on site. Jeez. How hard is it to get a chair? On a more positive note, the room itself was clean. The bed could have been more comfortable. I had difficulty sleeping. If you look at the picture, the tv was oddly placed next to the tv and not in front of the tv. Strange. They had a blow dryer, a fridge, and dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. In my friend's suite, they also had a microwave. Based on this experience, Marriott is ranking below Hilton and Hyatt for me. I know Courtyard is their no frills brand, but I've had better experiences at their competitor's no frills brands. read more

So check in with you I already checked in and I love it when I have the cart so you don't have to hump your luggage all the way to your room there's only three in the lobby, but there might be more people have them floor as a nice view of the courtyard, courtyard is nice and inviting as a fire pit. Everything is up-to-date and looking in the room. We also have a sliding door in balcony out there, but if we were on the first floor, it would be nice cause then you could just walk out to the patio. The lobby looks exactly like the one in Poughkeepsie has a bar a lot of comfortable seedings and private seating if you want. read more

Stayed at this Marriott courtyard for a wedding. We are rewards members. Checked in on New Year's day for a two night stay . Hotel staff average at best. Went down to lobby, no bar open ,no bistro open ,no anything open due to the holiday. Even though it's a Marriott, you should be able to get a cocktail if you choose to do so New Year's day or NOT I have never heard of the one thing the hotel at this location offers being closed! Location is average but must have a vehicle. Amtrak runs directly behind our room 329 and is noisy. my daughter went to the front desk to ask for a glass on New Year's Day night and she couldn't even get one from the front desk person. Was told they provide them in our room and she would have to come up to get it. Due to the fact that there was an infant in the room, she did not want to do that and possibly wake a sleeping baby. I would say pretty pathetic for a Marriott overall. rooms are small and dark. I recommend finding a different location read more

I echo Kent's review and would give this location a 2.5 stars. Upon arriving, the 3 people working at the front desk were not welcoming. I asked if they offer a AAA discount and was told "yes", so I got my card out and we never got the discount. Also consistent with the other reviews, there is still construction going on in front of the building. I had braced myself for a very uncomfortable bed based on the reviews, but the mattress & pillows were fine. The couch was hard as a rock, so if you're looking to have a third person sleep on the couch, look elsewhere. None of the garbage cans in the room were lined and the lights were all very bright. There were adequate outlets for 2 people to charge our phones & watches overnight. The fridge did not fit a whole lot. We got a room at the end of the hallway, so we did not run into any noise issues, but I do have to say that the doors are not soundproof at all. I stood outside my room to wait for my bf for a few minutes and I heard the entire conversation others were having inside of their room. Breakfast - They had a selection of individually wrapped bagels, cereal, granola bars, and bananas. There's a "Bistro" area near the entrance that was closed when we were there. This is a decent Courtyard. Conveniently located near highways and trains. The restaurant is very slow, so much so, we couldn't wait for coffee. It's unorganized, or something that fails to inspire confidence on how long the wait might be. This hotel has no lobby coffee other than for purchase, mixed in with the food buyers Bottles water $6. I visited on a business trip. Highly not recommended. I had to go to the airport in the morning for my next business trip, so I left early in the morning. There was an error in the invoice, so I told them that it would be processed only when the manager came, so I just told them and left, but when I checked after moving to another city, they overcharged me, so it took about a month to correct it and I had to pay the bill on my own. I couldn't find anything wrong with it, so I tried to explain it to them one by one, but they didn't understand or they didn't understand it. I will never go again, and I can't help but feel bad after using this hotel. Even though I deposited everything when I first used the card, when I changed it, and when I left, they made a new payment and charged me when I checked out, so even though my card limit was 3,000, I reached my card limit in 2 weeks. Normally, I get charged from the deposit I made in the first place, but I don't understand why it's only happening here. I really didn't feel comfortable for a single day. Even though time has passed, this is the first time l've encountered these things and unfriendliness, so l'm leaving a review again belatedly. I remembered stay here so I booked it and I have to say it was the best decision I made. The rooms have been modernized and as always the staff was friendly pleasant and informative. So thoroughly disappointed in the Courtyard by Marriott in Rye, NY! Stayed there 9/8/23 checking out on 9/11/23. The room would not cool down regardless of the thermostat setting. The amenities are non-existent (communal shampoo, conditioner and liquid body soap in the shower), coffee is mediocre (and only enough for 2 cups per room), but of course if you need anything....you can shag your happy self down to the "convenience kiosk" and pay out the nose for what that Marriott should have provided, especially at the per night room charge of over 400 I realize this is Rye, NY, but this place wasn't worth anywhere near that price. next time, I will go to Greenwich, White Plains or Harrison - I would have saved a bunch of $ had I done that in the 1st place and rented a car to drive back and forth. Typical newly-renovated Courtyard property, so, fine, you think you know what you're gonna get (if you've stayed at a Courtyard before). I'll lead with compliments to the staff: all pleasant and chill. A particular shout-out to the Assistant General Manager Lorbie Salvador -- fantastic. She really gets it, and is great (amidst a system that can seem inconsistent or inefficient at times). Now, some mixed-review details: Renovations are currently ONGOING (6/19/23). I received an email 2 days prior to check-in that the front entrance is off-limits due to driveway reconstruction. Gotta enter via side door. So if getting rained-upon as you schlep from car to building with your stuff doesn't bother you, then fine. I dig staying dry under a covered driveway, but maybe that's just me. Just would've liked to know ahead of time (like, when I booked?). Hope that's done when you book. Our suite was indeed spacious and clean. Drapes and blackout curtains very effective, if difficult to adjust. Don't be deceived by listings/reviews/pictures that indicate a pool. NOPE, NO POOL. I inquired directly and was told they haven't offered it for 6 years! And a tarp covered the firepit (I THINK that's what it was) smack in the center of the deserted courtyard. Not great optics. At least the exercise room was real. If it matters, this IS/IS a pet-friendly hotel. I'd seen conflicting info on that. Now...the pricing. Surprisingly high for the time of our stay, in ALL aspects, for a suburban hotel located hard by the intersection of two interstate highways. I booked well in advance for an event (like, 5 months prior) and periodically tracked the rates for typical fluctuations/specials/etc, and they only climbed. Biz must be good; they claimed a sellout and that's likely true. But, hoo boy, those firm rates did surprise me. As did the $6 bottle of water in the room. And the ONE tiny crappy coffee packet (for a suite with TWO occupants). Again, bad optics at best. Starbucks and food served in the lobby cafe are no bargain. Breakfast for 2 (eggs-n-such) with coffees were pretty good...for $40 + tip. Just stuff to bear in mind so you're not surprised. This is 1 of 2 hotels in the area my company reserves for traveling employees. We sent an employee from California and booked on a company card. Upon arrival, they were told the card on file can't be charged, apparently due to fraud precautions. I called the day after check-in, asking to charge the company card. The staff claimed only a manager can send an authorization, so they took my information. They didn't send it, and I remembered at 12:00AM PST before checkout at 7:30AM EST. I was on the phone with customer service for 30+ minutes trying to resolve the issue. They couldn't apply the charge over the phone, and the manager has up to 3 business days to contact me. Our employee was checking out in 4 hours... I finally received the CC auth at 4:50AM PST from a staff member. When I called the hotel the manager wasn't available and didn't return my call for the entire day. THEN I find out they charged our employee almost $3,000 for a $900 hotel stay (suspiciously, different $900+ amounts). When they asked the front desk, staff simply said they would receive a refund within 5 business days. Our employee also thought they got food poisoning from the hotel restaurant salad; the hotel didn't seem to care and didn't report it to management. I had to call at the end of the day and talk to a different manager who is trying to rectify the situation. As of the day after check-out, our employee has only received 1/3 ~$900 refunds. read more

I stayed here recently on a business trip for two nights. The hotel itself is comfortable enough, but is a bit on the wayworn side and needs to be updated. As I checked in the first evening, I was advised by the front desk person that starting the next day, hotel renovations were beginning and that we may see construction workers in the hotel and to be aware of this. When I entered my room, it was like entering a blast furnace (okay, I am exaggerating), but the room was way to hot and the wall unit was blasting more hot air into the room. I turned off the heat and set the AC to about 67 to cool it off. My room was clean and comfortable, but again somewhat worn out looking. Wireless internet was free and reasonably fast. The flat panel HD TV in my room had limited TV channel selection - and most of the channels were not available in HD. C'mon Marriott! Really!? My room came with a mini-fridge, always a good thing. I attempted to have a beer one evening in the lobby bar. I asked the bartender if they had any local beers/ales. He responded that they did not. Manager and staff of Courtyard Rye - if you read these reviews - add a few local beers to your bar menu. How hard could it be?! Add a local lager, an IPA, and a Stout, give us some interesting local choices! I had breakfast in the lobby restaurant the last morning. I'm not impressed with how Courtyard does breakfast. I'd prefer and omelette with a number of ingredient choices, but all you can get are scrambled eggs or eggs over easy. So I had a bland order of scrambled eggs with sides of bacon and sausage - which I then chopped up and threw into the eggs to give them some semblance of flavor - along with some black pepper and Tabasco sauce. 2 and 1/2 stars - somewhere in between "meh, I've had better" and A-OK. The Hotel and room was very clean and comfortable. The bed and pillows were fine, comfy even. The room was noisy (all night). we could hear everything from the room above us and the adjacent room. The staff was not pleasant or helpful at all. The woman acted like she was bothered to do her job of check in and check out (had the same lady both times). She wasn't friendly, wasn't helpful, and failed to let me know there was a hidden charge for parking (I wasn't aware - since I didn't book reservation), and I wasn't told. I smiled and said Good Afternoon as I approached and nothing. Same the following morning. Said good morning. She didn't move or say anything. On arrival/during check in, I also asked about coffee and she said follow me - she brought me over to the Starbucks / bistro area and explained they were closed, but would check on coffee for me. She went to the back, and after a short wait came back out and said its not ready yet. Due to this, I went to my room, unpacked, unloaded and relaxed and came back about 20 or 30 mins later and re-asked. I got someone else and they said follow me. They asked what they could get me - I said 2 Large coffees. They grabbed 2 cups and 2 coffee grounds and disappeared to the back, then they returned and said $5.50, how would you like to pay? add it to your room? now, there is much that I don't understand about this - why if the lady checked before and it wasn't ready? (if it was instant) also the 1st lady led me to believe there was 2 types of coffee - the complimentary and the "Starbucks" for sale in the bistro area. it turns out, that isn't true here, so the charade of her saying follow her then saying it wasn't ready was just nonsense. Of course I didn't have my wallet on me, because I just left everything in the room. You are in a service industry and supposed to provide hospitality. It's fine. The rooms definitely need an overhaul as I've stayed in some other Courtyards that have completely re-vamped everything - from the lobby area to the rooms. The main entrance/Bistro area is updated - very clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I ate at the Bistro last night and the gentleman that runs it does a great job. The food was decent - considering it's not a full-service kitchen and mostly pre-prepared stuff to warm up. Even though the rooms are more "old-school Courtyard", they're definitely clean...cleaner than some others that I've stayed in. Very convenient location on this side of the Hudson. Free wifi that actually works. The layout is a bit of a labyrinth....my room feels like it's on the other side of the planet. I don't usually mind walking a bit to my room, but I'm on the road all week and I have my heavier bag with me. I assume there are some side entrances with parking around the back/sides of this facility, but I didn't venture out once I checked in last night. If I have a meeting in this area again, I'd stay here for the convenience. read more

this must be our fourth stay at this hotel. Again we are so pleased to be staying here! The hotel is in a convenient location for us. The room is large and clean. The blackout curtains work great. Everything in our room worked perfectly. But the reason for 5 stars is the staff that works here. Every single person we've encountered during our stay has been polite, upbeat and extremely helpful. True the room coffee is not good and the lights are very bright. But the employees make this a welcoming place to stay. We will keep coming back for sure! read more

Opting for an overnight stay following a Trey Anastasio show at the Capitol Theater in neighboring Port Chester, my triad found the Courtyard Marriott in Rye. A quick cab ride from the venue, this hotel is an incredibly easy to find residence, literally right off the highway. The interior, especially evident in the lobby, is quite modern and up-to-date. The clean and chic decor is impressive and welcoming. The open floor concept of the lobby boasts bistro seating, a small business section complete with computers and stations to print boarding passes, free coffee in the am, flat screen tv detailing the weather and other such pertinent information, as well as a 24/7 market that sells beer, bottled beverages, microwavable meals, and the like. Our room was equally pleasing. Splurging for a suite (only $30 more than a regular room) I was excited by the large amount of space available for the 3 of us to share. A separate bedroom housed two double beds a dresser and a flat screen tv, the living room had a pull out couch, coffee and side tables, a large desk area to enjoy the free wifi, additional drawers, another flat screen tv, and prep area complete with microwave and mini fridge. The balcony overlooking the courtyard (Yes! A Courtyard Marriott with an actual courtyard! A surprisingly rare commodity in my experience) was a pleasant surprise, though mostly forgotten on this trip due to the 6 degree weather outside. A nice way to escape the frigid temps though was with a dip in the jacuzzi. Skipping the indoor pool altogether, I was more than grateful to relax and warm my bones amongst the bubbling waters. The pool area supplies towels, plenty of seating, and a draped changing house. The courtyard just outside the pool house, boasted a great deal of open space with couches and chairs covered up for the season. I imagine it is quite a relaxing space in the warmer months. The staff are very friendly and accommodating here. Everyone I passed offered a smile or a sociable remark. They called a cab for us to head to the show and were quick to fulfill requests, down to leaving their post at the front desk to pour a cup of regular coffee from the bistro left unattended. If there was ever a reason to stay in the area again, I would absolutely return to this hotel for another visit. read more

They went above in beyond during a black-out crisis that derailed our daughter & son-in-law's wedding reception, which ended up being suddenly moved to the hotel. The staff was quick to accommodate us and our guests. And in the morning had the business room all set and ready for our catered breakfast. Even allowed us to store the wedding cake in the freezer for the cutting during the breakfast event. AVOID this HOTEL. I was told I would receive a NIGHT's credit for the NOISE occurring between 12am-5am from 2nd floor guests. I phoned Front Desk but NO answer after 10 rings JUST a HANG-UP. I was their because I had NO heat for 6 days which continued another 4 days. I had moved to a RYE Coop Building six months earlier. This HOTEL lies on Rye/Port Chester border. I went to desk for an ADDITIONAL night since NO HEAT continued in MyBUILDING. But Marco the DAY Desk Manager advised I was ONLY receiving a 20% discount NOT a FULL CREDIT. MARRIOTT's POLICY states if there are ANY disturbances after 10pm before 8am to NOTIFY Front Desk. After warning guest and it continues guest asked to leave otherwise police called. Marco @ Marriott did NOT HONOR the NIGHT's CREDIT as we spoke of. Upon being NOTIFIED, I IMMEDIATELY paid bill, packed and left. I will NEVER return. I will make ANY future reservations at Hyatt Greenwich or Hilton Stamford Hotel and Executive Meeting Ctr. for BETTER/COMPARABLE pricing and EXQUISITE environment. read more

My husband and I are Marriott members so we always enjoy our Marriott stays. I'm sorry to write that the Courtyard Marriott Rye was not what you usually experience at a Marriott hotel. No complimentary water upon arrival or in your room...unless you paid $6 per bottle. No free coffee or cookies in the lobby. I am a 77 yo woman traveling to see relatives in Rye ( from MA) having a 2-night reservation (Friday to Sunday). Xmas 2022 with 11 degree weather I received a call from neighbors at home that we lost power, so I had to leave 1 night earlier than planned. Hotel says they cannot refund because I made reservation with Expedia(hotels.com) and they will have to arrange it. I phoned 806-607-8356 ( Hotels.com) and was told they would contact the hotel to verify. They then told me the hotel said I never checked out!! I told them I spoke to desk Eli and I drove home and slept in my own bed for the second night! ( I got the generator running when I returned home). They repeated to me that the hotel will not authorize the return of $322 for my second night stay. Please know they website does not mention "under contruction", no clear Entrance available, No restaurant, No bar, Breakfast consists of banana, Bagels and a toaster. We stayed over as part of a group attending a nearby wedding reception - Lorbie handled many changes people made to add or subtract days to their reservations smoothly and politely. We would definitely recommend this hotel. The only draw back was no breakfast. And the lobby Starbucks closes at 10:30 AM on Sunday. First time in Rye! It's a cute town. Nice and cozy. A family place. This Courtyard is like the others. Clean rooms. Nice fitness center. Laundry machines. Business center. Outdoor pool for better weather. A Silver Elite Marriott Rewards member hosted me here. Those perks are great. Late check out. Balcony room. And even a complimentary breakfast entree. The staff here is really nice. They told us about the train station (~2 blocks away) where we could hop a local into NYC if we didn't want to brave driving/parking. We complained to the hotel management and were: a. assured the problem would be fixed b. offered, at first, a 25% refund of our more than $300 first night's stay. The rude front desk staffer reluctantly 'upped' the offer to 50%. And, if that wasn't satisfactory, I'd have to speak with the front desk manager wouldn't gee on site until the following day. SO... On night 2, the ac unit again made the terrible noise. I complained to the hotel management the second day, and was offered an apology and 50% discount for both nights. When questioning how they'd decided on 50% as the appropriate refund, the manager assured me that he would 'look into' the problem and then refund the balance. After one week, I received no response. I then filled in the hotel evaluation form Marriott sends to guests to 'improve guest relations'. I may yet hear from the folks at Marriott, but I did hear from the hotel manager who thanked me for my response and assured me that the problem would be fixed in the future. AND, hoped to see me again as a guest at the hotel. REALLY? The greatest irony in this situation is that my wife and I stayed at the hotel 6 months earlier to see if we would recommend the hotel to our son and daughter-in-law to use as a base for the celebration. We did stay, and we did recommend it, and our family reserved 10+ rooms for the weekend. OUR BAD!!!! We wonder if we will hear from Marriott. read more

This place is pretty cool. They had recently had remodeled it. It served its has a place for us to easily get to the MTA station within a 5 minute walk. This place will be out go to place for day trips for NYC. read more

Spent a night here. The staff were excellent, very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The food at the bistro was pretty tasty. The downsides were towels that felt like stucco and the cost of drinks at the onsite bistro. $22.00 for a glass of wine and a beer. read more
