I echo Kent's review and would give this location a 2.5 stars. Upon arriving, the 3 people working at the front desk were not welcoming. I asked if they offer a AAA discount and was told "yes", so I got my card out and we never got the discount. Also consistent with the other reviews, there is still construction going on in front of the building. I had braced myself for a very uncomfortable bed based on the reviews, but the mattress & pillows were fine. The couch was hard as a rock, so if you're looking to have a third person sleep on the couch, look elsewhere. None of the garbage cans in the room were lined and the lights were all very bright. There were adequate outlets for 2 people to charge our phones & watches overnight. The fridge did not fit a whole lot. We got a room at the end of the hallway, so we did not run into any noise issues, but I do have to say that the doors are not soundproof at all. I stood outside my room to wait for my bf for a few minutes and I heard the entire conversation others were having inside of their room. Breakfast - They had a selection of individually wrapped bagels, cereal, granola bars, and bananas. There's a "Bistro" area near the entrance that was closed when we were there. It is the first thing you see when visiting their website. Not many food options near the hotel unless you're willing to drive 10 minutes away. I will not be staying here again.

I stayed at this courtyard by Marriott about 7 years ago to attend a family event. Recently I had a family emergency and needed to find a hotel not to far from the hospital my my mother was at. I remembered stay here so I booked it and I have to say it was the best decision I made. The rooms have been modernized and as always the staff was friendly pleasant and informative. I highly recommend courtyard by Marriott at Rye NY to anyone.

I stayed here recently on a business trip for two nights. The hotel itself is comfortable enough, but is a bit on the wayworn side and needs to be updated. As I checked in the first evening, I was advised by the front desk person that starting the next day, hotel renovations were beginning and that we may see construction workers in the hotel and to be aware of this. When I entered my room, it was like entering a blast furnace (okay, I am exaggerating), but the room was way to hot and the wall unit was blasting more hot air into the room. I turned off the heat and set the AC to about 67 to cool it off. My room was clean and comfortable, but again somewhat worn out looking. Wireless internet was free and reasonably fast. The flat panel HD TV in my room had limited TV channel selection - and most of the channels were not available in HD. C'mon Marriott! Really!? My room came with a mini-fridge, always a good thing. I attempted to have a beer one evening in the lobby bar. I asked the bartender if they had any local beers/ales. He responded that they did not. Manager and staff of Courtyard Rye - if you read these reviews - add a few local beers to your bar menu. How hard could it be?! Add a local lager, an IPA, and a Stout, give us some interesting local choices! I had breakfast in the lobby restaurant the last morning. I'm not impressed with how Courtyard does breakfast. I'd prefer and omelette with a number of ingredient choices, but all you can get are scrambled eggs or eggs over easy. So I had a bland order of scrambled eggs with sides of bacon and sausage - which I then chopped up and threw into the eggs to give them some semblance of flavor - along with some black pepper and Tabasco sauce. Hotel employees were friendly and professional. Service was good.

First room had a huge puddle in the bathroom. Front desk immediately got us another room, nearby, and brought the key cards to us.

ORIGIN: The Hyatt Regency Greenwich was built in 1986. The…read morearchitectural influence appears to be 1980s post-modern/Robert A.M. Stern. In 2024 it underwent a 40 million dollar renovation. LOCATION: The Hyatt Regency Greenwich is conveniently just off I-95. It is located at the site of the former printing plant for Condé Nast Magazines (1921-1967). CONCEPT: Hyatt Regency Greenwich is a tremendous complex, providing event spaces, meeting rooms, many amenities, a bar/lounge, and 374 hotel rooms. (I've attached one floor's plan to give perspective.) Uncommon amenities include a movie theater showing one of the latest releases and a salt water pool. SERVICE: Service was mixed. My initial encounter was not welcoming, especially given this is a four star rated facility. I arrived in the early afternoon at the entrance. The valet explained that whether I self park or not, there is a fee (average around $30) and I must give valet my keys. The more unwelcoming and surprising thing was I asked if there was a luggage cart, as I recently had surgery. He pointed to where luggage carts are stored and told me to return the cart when finished. Despite seeing me slowly placing bags on the cart, and trouble pushing the cart, no help was offered by him, nor was solicited from a colleague inside the Hyatt Regency. The way he acted led me to assume conventional valet and bellman services were not available at this facility. The next day, at check out around 11 AM, was thankfully a different experience and I was grateful that the assigned valet took the luggage cart and placed the bags in my car without asking. Although I hope to not require assistance next time I visit, I understand from the hotel manager that valets are expected to transfer luggage between car and cart, and that bellman service is available. ROOM EXPERIENCE: GOOD The room was recently renovated and was cleverly and attractively designed, including prints related to Condé Nast magazines as reference to the site's history. Bed and pillows among most comfortable I've experienced anywhere. BAD I was able to hear children screaming from a distant guest room and someone urinating into a toilet above me, so there is a lack of sound proofing at the facility that is usually associated with a lower rated hotel/motel. Your neighboring guest can have an impact on your overall experience. AMENITIES I appreciated the recent addition of a movie theater showing a current release (during my visit The Devil Wears Prada 2 was being viewed.) I could see this destination as an attractive alternative to crowded multiplex theaters. Plus the Townsend Restaurant and Bar is steps away for during- or after-theater sips and nibbles. TIP: Since the building was constructed in the 1980s during a trend of rooms facing atrium, some room windows face the atrium, inviting a voyeur experience (watching activity in bar/restaurant below and likewise restaurant/bar guests watching activity in guest rooms). I've always found this a bit creepy, so if you want an outward facing room be sure to request it.

The hotel was clean, and the room was comfortable, but what made my stay 5* was the front desk staff member, D'Asia. I have a background in hospitality, and some folks are just made for the work. When I saw D'Asia the next morning, she was still smiling and friendly. We didn't try the breakfast since it runs early (6:30-9am) and we were still jet-lagged, but I appreciated having the option. The room itself was the biggest downside. It felt old and overdue for an update. The bed was flimsy, the comforter had very little filling left (and what was there looked hardened), and I ended up sleeping without it and feeling cold most nights. The pillows were also surprisingly small. Having a kitchen and sitting area was helpful, but the lack of overhead lighting made the space harder to use. We were told housekeeping services happen every two days, but our room wasn't cleaned at all during the four nights we stayed. On top of that, the toilet handle broke on day two -- maintenance did come quickly to fix it, which I appreciated. We also ran out of toilet paper right before checkout, and there wasn't any extra in the room. The front desk staff were consistently kind and helpful, though they often seemed overwhelmed by other guests monopolizing their time. They handled it well, but I was secondhand stressed watching lines form. Noon checkout was a real plus. Overall, this stay was a mixed bag - convenient location and friendly staff, but the rooms and housekeeping fell significantly short.

We all enjoyed our stay here last time, therefore I reserved another four rooms for my family again since we had to attend another family affair in the area later this year. I used my Marriott Bonvoy hotel points to book all four king bedrooms for Saturday through Monday for a two night weekend. Each of the four hotel rooms cost me 49k points each or 196k points for four rooms for two weekend nights. Our Saturday check-ins and Monday morning check-outs went smoothly.I had not problem using my points. The parking lot was busy when we arrived on Saturday, but had less vehicles on Sunday evening. I had a standard king bedroom #233 located on the second floor rear of the hotel overlooking the construction of new buildings. See my pics. My room had a small refrigerator. The bathroom shower had liquid dispensers mounted on the shower wall to dispense liquid shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. I was disappointed that I was not upgraded to a suite as I was upgraded earlier this year, since I also reserved four hotel rooms earlier this year. My room had a 43-inch LG flat screen HDTV. We also again enjoyed the adjacent and connected Bonefish Grill restaurant. We will likely return here again if we have to attend another family affair in the area. I like the location of this restaurant to my other family and friends in Bergen County.

Let me tell you something, This Hotel has gone from a three-star hotel to a 4-star hotel, but I give them a five and nothing less. I am a proud travel pass member since 2015. They have done a fantastic job of remodeling. The rooms are FABULOUS, absolutely fabulous and comfortable. It is a luxury room with satisfying upgraded furniture. The bed, couch, chairs, picture, television, and bathroom exemplifying sophistication. Offering bedside reading and access to downloadable books to read. Charging outlets and the lighting sets a romantic tone. All you need to do is have them give you the romantic package and add wine to the list, they aim to please! They offer event space, a swimming pool, fitness center, self-parking as well as Valet parking, a market center with Starbucks, airport shuttle, laundry service, housekeeping, and in room dining. The remodeling has enhanced the bar experience and the dining experience. The restaurant, which is named Whisk, serves this spacious and huge Dine-In area, serving breakfast and dinner only. It is a totally different set-up from the past, and the food seems like it has improved but the service from the dining staff remains the same, friendly, personalized, professional, and pleasant. I had the buffet for about $27 plus. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious. I should not have gotten the buffet because of my diet, but I did well by eating one plate. Next time I will try A La Carte. I have visited the bar in the past and you can dine at the bar, the people at the bar at the best around. The go out of the way to talk to you and as many times as I have been there, they know me. The valet parking is serviced Metropolis; I paid $34 for about 18 hours and the staff are enthusiastic about parking your car. Pro tip- Have the buffet ordered as part of your stay. The motel is like stumbling into the 1960s and I mean that in the best way possible. Instantly charmed my the roundabout in the courtyard (parking lot) and office. Check-in was a breeze. Parking also. The only noticeable modern feature is the state-of-the-art surveillance system monitoring the outer area so any funny business around the cars or entrances is displayed in real time on a series of screens in the lobby. The room smells fresh, not like detergent or masked by harsh cleaning supplies, but like natural crisp clean air. I'm actually relieved and impressed by how pure the air in the room is, as well as the bed linens, etc. because the room is visibly quite old and very few updates seem to have occurred in the decades since its construction. No residue of past cooking hanging in the air, and nary a whiff of smoke. I breathed easy. The room is exactly as advertised. It offers all the basic features, including a cooktop range, kitchen sink, cabinets, microwave, mini fridge. Everything in proper working order. And a dining table that comfortably seats four.
