I booked two nights at this hotel for a work trip. I'm not super picky about hotels - as long as there are no visible stains or bed bugs and the door closes and locks securely that's pretty much all I need. The hotel is a bit older but for the most part everything was good. Jessica was super nice at check in, and gave me some recommendations for food nearby (there are several chains within walking distance). There is a restaurant/bar in the lobby as well as a convenience area with snacks for sale. I got a king bed room which was very roomy and comfortable. The mini fridge and microwave are hidden in a big cabinet near the window. The room smelled a lot like some kind of fragrance the first day - it didn't really bother me but could be problematic if you're sensitive to scents. The bed was very comfy, the outlets and USB ports by the bed all worked, and the room seemed clean. The shower handle was installed backwards, and it was broken so it would just spin around after you rotated it to a certain spot - kind of weird. I did mention it to the front desk and they said they would fix it while I was out - I could tell they had run the shower but it wasn't fixed. Luckily I was able to figure out how to get the water hot even though it was finicky. The parking lot was always full so finding a spot was difficult especially in the evenings. There was a row of parking that was reserved for one of the surrounding buildings and it looked like a tow zone, so be aware of that. read more

I am extremely disappointed with this hotel and its complete lack of compassion. I had to cancel my reservation due to a death in my family--something no one plans for or wants to experience. Despite explaining the situation and providing the reason for the cancellation, the hotel refused to issue any refund or offer even a partial credit. I understand that hotels have cancellation policies, but exceptional circumstances deserve empathy and reasonable customer service. Instead, I was met with a rigid "too bad" response that made an already difficult time even more stressful. Policies are important, but how a business treats people during life's hardest moments says a lot about its values. Based on this experience, I will never book here again, and I would encourage others to consider whether they want to support a business that chooses policy over basic human compassion. I reserved an Aug 2 overnight stay at Marriott Yonkers Westchester, NY. This is the very last time I will ever stay at a Marriott hotel. I left my husband at the Marriott to head to New Rochelle for my daughter's wedding. I had a hair and make up appointment at the Greentree Country Club at 10:00 AM before the Marriott check in time. When my husband attempted to check in at the Marriott Bonvoy at the appointed time, he was not permitted to use the reservation at the hotel. He could not place our things in our reserved hotel room. He could not shower and dress for my daughter's wedding in our hotel room! He was told that I would have to rebook on the third party site. I could not locate reservation confirmation although I sent my husband a screen shot I had of the reservation. It was my daughter's wedding day! Manit, the front desk employee, wouldn't permit my husband to enter our room since he said I had not booked it through Marriott. Even after I had spoken to the employee myself over the phone. At the location on 3 separate occasions, we were told that there were no luggage carts nor were we ever even offered assistance in schlepping our luggage to the room! I stayed here on a recent trip to New York. Myself and a bunch of family from all over were in town for a wedding and this was the hotel my uncle booked, which was in close proximity to his house. Usually the the ratings would have been a turn off for me, but since it wasn't me booking, I had to go with it. This was one of those instances where the rating did not match the experience. We were late checking in, but made sure and called to let them know we were still coming in. They assured us all is good and just drive safely. Parking is free here which is a plus and we never had to park too far even though the lot filled up in the evenings. Check in was pleasant. Customer service was great throughout. They even had a sign in the lobby welcoming our family in for the weekend. They did their best to get most of us on one floor as well. The room itself was great. I had a king room which was very spacious and clean. I loved how they have the personalized screen on the TV upon check in. It's the little things like seeing my name on TV that make me happy. There was a nice little desk if needed with outlets all over the place for all your electronic devices. Everything in the room worked. There is a hidden fridge and microwave in the room which I only discovered because my niece pointed it out for me a few days into the trip. Wish I didn't get rid of all my leftovers! The bathroom was very spacious and had excellent lighting. One thing I judge hard in hotels is water pressure and drainage. They passed on both fronts. I don't typically sleep too well when traveling because I have an amazing bed at home, but I slept like a baby here. The room was also very comfortable temperature wise. Most places I get one extreme or another, but not here. As far as amenities goes, there isn't much here other than the fitness center. I wasn't trying to get my swole on so I did not visit. No pool here so don't pack your Speedos. They do have a nice outdoor space in the back with a firepit. Inside they have a bistro for breakfast and lunch with grab and go options and coffee. There is plenty of seating and lounging areas in the lobby as well. We hung out there at night and the staff was so helpful in cleaning up even though we insisted on doing so. There is also a pantry of sorts where they have drinks and snacks that you can grab and they just charge it to the room. There are alot of restaurants and entertainment within close proximity to the hotel as well. I don't stay in the Yonkers area often, but I can see myself coming back here if in the area. read more

I stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott in Yonkers early in December 2025. However, this is what I learned. This hotel is not owned by the Marriot. A group bought by the name form Marriott and are not held up to the standards of the brand. You think you are staying at a Marriott, but your not. This particular group owns approximately 25 locations of different hotel names but is NOT A MARRIOTT. LOST JACKET: I left the hotel and realized I left my jacket in the room, so I called and spoke to Jackie who is also the front desk manager. She said they have the jacket and to just come pick it up. Since I was already 1hr into my drive across the country, she said they can mail it to me if I pay the postage. Long story short, I paid for the non-refundable UPS postage ($33) and was expecting the jacket to be shipped. After no return phone call after at least 30 tries', I decided to call the General Manger of the property. I left two messages with him explaining the whole situation, and he did not return my calls. I believe Jackie kept the jacket and I'm out of my $33 UPS postage and still have not received a call back from Jackie or the General Manager. I did not stay here but want to post my horrific experience. I booked a two day stay for my 50th High School Reunion. I did this six weeks in advance. Did not realize that the booking agent had said there is a NO Cancellation Policy!!! ( I have never heard of such a thing as every hotel/motel I had ever stayed in had a 24 hour cancellation policy!) When I found out my friends were staying at another hotel I wanted to change my reservation to another hotel. I had to call numerous numbers waiting on the phone until I got to a human who agreed to cancel my reservation. That was a week ago and I have still not received a credit to my credit card! This No Cancellation Policy is a total rip off. I have already started the process of telling my family, friends and social media contacts on this problem. I will NEVER stay at a Marriott again!!! I stayed at this hotel from July 30, 2024 until August 8, 2024, and I WILL NOT return! Here's why: 1) At check-in, I was informed by the desk clerk that the suite which I had reserved over a month prior would not be available at that moment but would be available within one to two days. I was then asked would I be willing to be put on a wait list for a suite. I promptly declined to be on a wait list for two days when I'm only at the hotel for nine days. When a guest travels across the country as I did, you simply want to unpack your bags, shower, and get on with the purpose of your trip. One wants to be able to do this especially when you're traveling with a child, as was my case. 2) During check-in, I was told by the desk clerk that there would be a $50 per day 'incidentals fee' (not publicized anywhere) that would be refunded to me within 3 to 5 days after check-out. That did not happen. I sent a request to the general manager of this hotel (Mr. Frank Rivera), and he has as of yet to reply to my inquiry. Mr. Rivera's response tells me everything I need to know about whether or not a general manager cares about the guest. 3) I washed one small load of clothes in the laundry room at this hotel, and it was problematic to say the least. The machines are all three dollars per load, yet when I scanned my credit card, I was charged $12. Charging discrepancies occurred on both the washing machine and the dryer. I went to the front desk when this issue occurred, and the young lady explained to me that the hotel was aware of discrepancies with the laundry room machines, and that I would be reimbursed upon checkout. Well, the reimbursement I received was a bit problematic. I aired this issue also via email with the general manager. Again, I have not received a reply from Mr. Rivera. 4) I went through a three-day straight run-around of having to rekey my room entry card at least three times per day. I was told that my cell phone or keys were probably causing the issue. I made the corrections, kept the key card away from both, but still had the problem for three days straight. I had never before had such an issue with a hotel key card. 5) I witnessed and recorded the most outrageous interaction between a hotel front desk clerk and a client of the hotel. One of the reasons why I wanted to speak with Mr. Rivera was to keep my observations at the lowest level, and hope that he would be open to an outsider's unbiased observation. I had never before seen a front desk attendant refer to a hotel guest as 'Bro' and loosely use the word 'Shit' while angry. The guest was upset over a credit card issue, specifically wanting to know why the desk clerk needed to have his VISA card again. The desk clerk did a very poor job of explaining why he needed that guest's credit card again, in my opinion. The guest kept replying that he was concerned about credit card fraud. Had the clerk listened to the guest as opposed to allowing the verbal altercation to escalate, he would have eventually understood that guest's security concern. As the professional who is providing the service, there should have been more discernment of 'why is this guest so aggitated'. Again, this is what I would have liked to have discussed with Mr. Rivera. Having said all of this, I have to say that my overall stay was a quiet and clean one. The housekeeping staff were some of the most professional that I have run into. The one maintenance gentleman Patrick was all over the place, and always in action taken care of things. However, I don't see myself returning to the Courtyard Yonkers Westchester County. This will be my second problematic stay at a so-called 'by Marriott' hotel within a two-year period. The Marriott sister hotel to this one (which is located right across the walkway) is where I had a seriously problematic stay back in 2022. Both hotels are managed by the same general manager, though the general manager in 2022 was a different individual. Trying to aire my concerns within Marriott was a waste of my time. It seems to me that the Marriott system of handling customer concerns is designed to frustrate the customer. One now has to use email to communicate your concerns with Marriott, and that system appears to be handled by AI. I refuse to be put on a communications hamster wheel to be heard, thus my reason for having to post this review. Corporate America does not seem to understand that people don't want to sit down and have to write negative reviews. They simply want their concerns to be addressed by that particular business entity. It seems that this will be the future of handling problematic business interactions between the customer and the business. RECOMMENDATION: Record all interactions that involve the use of your credit card at this hotel from check-in to check-out. When video recording is not suitable, use your voice recorder. had the most disgusting horrifying experience at this Marriott. I checked in at 10:30pm and having been at a wake and waking up early for a funeral I went right to sleep. I awoke in the middle of the night covered, literally soaked in someone's urine/bodily fluids. The mattress pad beneath the sheet was soaked in urine. I'm assuming the sheet was dry when I laid down until the drenched pad rose up. The room was in the 60s so I didn't notice the smell until I woke. It has to have been deliberate and recent as the entire mattress pad was wet. I'm so disgusted. The negligence and exposure to illness I could have is so upsetting. The first room we were given had someone's hair in between the sheets (see photo) which obviously showed the sheets were not cleaned from the prior occupant. I've stayed here twice and have loved it both times. The rooms are spacious and smell great. They come with ample outlets and USB ports, modern design, large bathrooms and plush bedding. There's a refrigerator and microwave in the rooms too. My kids loved the indoor pool. I enjoyed the fitness center because it was also spacious and had all the basics - treadmills, elliptical, bikes, dumbbells and cable machine, tv. The cafe, dining lounge is great for consuming outside food. Each booth includes a tv and cushioned chairs. It's also really close to many great restaurants and stores. This hotel is my go-to spot whenever I'm visiting The Bronx and Yonkers. read more

Don't ever apply to work at this shithole of a hotel. I applied to the Food & Beverage director position through Indeed.com. Exchanged a few texts between a gentleman at the hotel and set up an in person interview for a day at 2pm. I walk into the hotel at 1:55 and go towards the front desk and tell the young lady working the front desk my name and why I'm there, she had no idea who I was or that there was any kind of interview set for 2pm. So I text the phone number of the gentleman I had be speaking to a few days before to let him know that I've arrived and I'm in the lobby. I sit in the lobby for 20 mins waiting for a response, I notice about 10 minutes into my wait that the texts have been read and still no response, after 10 more mins I finally decide to leave the hotel. It's very professional to set up an interview, not show up to the interview that you scheduled and then even more professional don't respond to any texts from the person sitting in the hotel waiting for the interview. I arrived at this hotel on 6/6/23 at 11:30 PM and was told they didn't have a room. I explained that this was not possible because I not only had a reservation but it was prepaid and I showed my receipt. It didn't matter. They could not find any property in the area and I had to pay $35 for transportation to the Bronx. I was informed that there would be a room available on the 7th, so the transportation back was $65. They apologized by "only" charging $90 for this night with BS taxes it was $103.38. I felt like I was living in an old Seinfeld episode. Stay away from this hotel! read more

Worst check-in experience I've had....pretty much ever. I continue to find Marriott properties on the decline and it is beyond disappointing since I've been a Platinum member for years. I did check-in online via the Marriott app, but I did find it odd that I had not received any notification that my room was ready. Whatever. Could be a fluke. Could be that the only reason that I stayed at this property is that it was the only Marriott in Westchester that was not sold out. Could be that I made the reservation 2 days prior. Could be. Whatever. At 5pm, my room wasn't ready. I only know this because there were 2 different people/groups ahead of me trying to get rooms...and their rooms weren't ready. Not sure what the stories were for the other 2 situations, but by the time I got to speak to one of the 3 people that were trying to take care of way too many problems, I was told that there was a plumbing issue in my room and that it needed more time. At 5:30 (ish?) I received my room key. Thirty minutes to check in...mostly waiting to actually talk to a person. Completely unacceptable....especially after a long day of work and hours of traveling. The 2 stars are for the newly renovated lobby and the size of my room. It was an accessible room - which I generally don't care for - but it was one of the larger ones and was clean enough. I came into town to visit with my cousin for the weekend. Due to covid and health guidelines a lot of the places for activities was closed. We got to eat out of course. I stayed here and luckily it was close to where she lives. The hotel was nice and the staff was very polite and helpful in anything that their guests needed. The room was really nice as well. You know what? Everyone hating on this place is out of line. The staff is friendly, helpful, and polite. There is plenty of free parking. You are even able to go to the other affiliated hotel across the lot for a lite free breakfast. It is incredibly easy to get on and off the Saw Mill Parkway. I mean, no, it is NOT a luxury resort, but did anyone expect it to be??? My dad has stayed here many times, I have sometimes stayed there with him if I had a meeting farther north after he landed. My brother has stayed here. This is a genuinely good place to stay for a short stay situation. Do I want to to live there for weeks?? No! of course not. But that is not what anyone is doing there. If you want to LIVE somewhere for days on end, try the residence inn. There is one in White Plains. This is the kind of place you stay for several weeks if you are working in the area or relocating, etc. There you will have a full kitchen, its like a one bedroom apt. But if you are looking for THAT at this Courtyard Yonkers and then being mean about it, just stop. There is nothing wrong with this place AT ALL. I just recommend that you try for a room that does not face East. Also, ask to be away from any screaming kids, if they happened to be aware of the location. Politely! PS. There is a snack bar behind the check in area, where you can get a few things and charge to the room; however, my best advice, is to get what you want before arrival. There is a mid-size fridge and a microwave (at least in the rooms I saw...) Please see my guide to "general hotel maneuvers" related to this post. This is a brand new Courtyard with an open lobby, well-equipped fitness room and modernized bathroom design. It's conveniently located near several solid dining spots (shout out to Gianna's) and a half-mile from the Greystone MTA station, so if you're trying to get your steps in, it makes a nice hike...with hills BTW. If you prefer being chauffeured there, there's a no charge shuttle. This property has a few kinks to work out though. - the Bistro was a Charlie Foxtrot while I was there. Slow and without ingredients to prepare half the breakfast items. Don't even think about getting coffee before about 6:35 am, even though they open at 6:30. I had to point out to them that they hadn't flipped their menu board from the dinner menu the night before. - if you do want a ride to the Greystone station, it needs to be for a train departing after 7 am., because that's when the shuttle starts running. - I enjoy a cold shower after a hard workout or sauna, but not first thing on a cold day. There was, however, a hairdryer handy to warm up with afterwards. - there was an alarm clock that someone had set. Does anyone use an alarm clock anymore? I would stay here again. I'd rate the property higher if they had coffee available earlier and if the Bistro was a little more on their game. I should add that the lady working the Bistro did customize one of their available selections to get closer to my original request. Nice recovery. read more

We were in NYC for a party and stayed here just for the night. Check-in was quick and easy and the staff was very nice. The room was clean and small but wasn't a big deal. We had our 5 yr. old and we knew the room had a pull-out. When I pulled it out, there was a stain/burn on the mattress. We checked in later in the evening so I didn't want to change rooms. Later that evening, the room cold and we couldn't get the temperature up....again, we were settled in the room and we were only staying for one night so I didn't want to move! Breakfast was a free for all. They ran out of utensils, food, and juice multiple times throughout the morning. There was no order to navigate in the food area so it was hard to get your food without being bumped into. GET THERE EARLY The rest of the stay was ok...there was a broken toilet paper holder in the bathroom. Overall, it was a good stay. (sorry I didn't include pictures) read more

We were disappointed with our stay at the Courtyard Yonkers. Our room, although relatively clean, showed distress from previous guests- stains on carpet and crayon markings on the desk. The room had a stale smell that we could not get rid of even with scented air freshener. We were there for 4 nights, and did not receive new towels or housekeeping once. The solo front desk attendant worked alone, and although he was kind and accommodating, there was often a line in the lobby for check-in/out or simple questions or needs. Our room keys failed to work multiple times a day, and we needed to stop by the front desk for new room keys every time we returned to the hotel. Still, the beds were comfy, the shower worked well, and the hotel was convenient for our needs. Yet we will not choose to stay there when we return. read more

My sister and I stayed here 2 nights, Saturday November 4 and Sunday November 6. We've stayed here before, mostly for the pool. Well, imagine our dismay when we discovered that the pool was only open from 9 am to 1pm on Sunday! This is not mentioned anywhere on the hotel's website (states pool open Mon-Sun 7am to 10 pm) nor on the Bonvoy app. I even called in advance to make sure the pool would be open! We were told this was because there was no lifeguard- this must be something new because there has NEVER been a lifeguard there! I feel like we have been misled and I am not pleased. Extremely disappointed! To begin with the beds in room 223 had to be cardboard and the sheets were rough with piles. I stayed here 3 times before and the bed was nice. This time they have menus on the tables but nothing was available. The espresso machine is broken, the fryer is broken. Would have given 0 if I could. Horrible service they checked me out of my room by accident and left my things locked up in a office which they didn't have the keys to. I had to wait over an hour and a half for them to get the keys to open the room. I'm a healthcare worker and had patient sensitive information on my computer that was needed and was originally told that I would have to wait for the next morning to get. Manager never called me even though I was promised he would do so. I left messages, but to no avail. Finally upon checkout I spoke to the manager, Rubin, face to face. He tried to cover it up and said he would get me compensated with my third party that I booked the reservation through. I called Hotel Tonight and they said even if I did get compensated (which was not promised) it would take 5-7 business day to process. I now have an open case with Marriott for them to look into the situation. Healthcare workers and hotel workers were working sided by side in the Covid Pandemic , but now this is just disappointing and careless. Do not stay at this establishment. Management was careless and disgusting with my personal items and was even more careless with health sensitive information with patients they don't even know. read more

Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. While I wasn't traveling to the city for pleasure, this was a wonderful place to stop for an overnight in order to be in NYC for a very early morning appointment. I had pre-booked the room (Executive Queen) a few days prior and was very pleased with this selection. The room I was in faced the back parking lot and the business building. It was relatively quiet, definitely no noises jarring me awake at night but some noise while I was still awake. The room was comfortable and nicely cleaned. My only complaint was the air conditioning was blasting when entering the room. While the thermostat was adjustable, it took a while for the room to come to an enjoyable temperature. There is a small bistro with a rather small menu but there are more options in the area, Applebee's is across the street or you could drive a few miles to Ridge Hill (also in Yonkers) many restaurant options to suit the solo traveler and families alike. There's also a Whole Foods located within this shopping/food destination. Also note that if your plans take you out of the hotel before 6:30am, the bistro will be closed and you'll need to find another spot. We were informed of this upon check-in but knowing ahead of time is always helpful. Most likely will return to this hotel next time my travels bring me to the area. read more

Heat takes long time to heat room, and no complimentary breakfast but I guess right now that might be part of why the rooms prices are great. Great location, new and very clean hotel. Staff at front desk very polite, and informative. Room nice size and bathroom with walk-in shower was great also. If the prices stay the same this will be my go-to hotel every time I visit city. read more

Front desk folks are very nice. Hotel is updated and clean. There was no food in the am, which is not cool. We were going to a funeral and having to make an extra stop at Starbucks for a quick egg sandwich added stress we really didn't need. The bed was comfy and the hotel is updated and pretty. HOWEVER, for this hotel being in a business park, and I assume being marketed to business travelers, there was NO blow dryer in the bathroom. Every single hotel I've been in for the last 10 years has at least a crappy little blow dryer. Not this one. Pretty annoying to realize as you're getting ready there's no way to dry your hair. I shouldn't have a reason to go back to this hotel but I would recommend it - but bring a blow dryer!! read more

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The staff was extremely accommodating and the hotel overall was beautiful and conveniently located. I also liked that the owner was around and spoke to the guest. Pros: They had a Starbucks on site (Thank God!) Beds were comfortable Rooms were pretty modern Located next to Applebee's and not far from a few fast food restaurants. Ample parking Cons: Overpriced food and drinks (but then again what do you expect when you come to hotels?) A bottle of Pepsi cost $3.75. Not exactly the $1.25 - $1.50 I was used to spending but what the hell, I was thirsty. The Starbucks was limited and the staff was a little slow and / or understaffed. One particular morning I couldn't order something off the breakfast menu because the delivery driver called in sick. So yes ladies and gentlemen the entire operation shut down because someone didn't come to work. My room didn't have a tub. This is a big no no for anyone who travels with children. A child taking a shower equals water all over the place and a near death experience when you accidentally slip on a puddle. Overall: I was pleased with the service and will return whenever I'm in the area. read more

A quick visit to New York City brought us here. Located in an Industrial Park, this is a very good property. Beyond the Residence Inn, located in the shared parking lot, and an Applebee's and gas station across the street, there isn't much else there. That is a downside, but now that I know this, if we are back, I'll plan accordingly. The property itself is in great condition and it served our need. The staff wasn't the friendliest, they weren't unfriendly - just indifferent - and it took almost 40 minutes to get an order of chicken wings from the in house restaurant, but we weren't there long enough for it to be an issue. The pool area is good but the acoustics made it pretty loud when more than four people were in it. There were no towels and when i let the front desk know, it was quickly remedied. The fitness room had a good selection of machines and free weights. The room was comfortable and clean. The TV is Netflix ready which was a plus. It was a quick and easy ride into the Bronx and Manhattan. This is a solid location and property that we would consider again in the future. The kids enjoyed It, it was clean, it was safe and it was quiet. All in all a solid option. read more
