I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. From the incredibly friendly staff to the immaculate rooms - everything has been spot on for a great stay. For instance, I had a person in the room above me stomping their feet each day and night. I had thought that maybe they would stop, butt after the 2nd night of this - I went down and had asked if they could relocate my room. Mario and Nicholas were able to relocate me without any hassle and even had house keeping move my luggage while I was at work. The assistant manager is rude, incompetent, and has a hard time understanding the Elite Benefits provided by the Marriott Bonvoy program and instead makes up his own rules. The general manager is complicit in backing the assistant manager up. To all Elite members- don't bother. This hotel is not worth your loyalty. read more

Room was great! Clean, spacious, with a great AC! Shower was awesome. I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't so loud. The walls are too thin, and I could hear everything that was happening. Especially the banging of cleaning carts in the morning. Oh, and there were no normal outlets on either side of the bed. I wanted to plug in a heating pad to lay with in bed for an injury I have, but there was only a USB outlet by the nightstands. I went down to purchase something from the little store upfront, and since I had to wait a while for the front desk clerk to get off the phone, she gave the item to me complimentary. i Stayed at this crappy hotel all last week and came home with the most disgusting bites all over my body. When I went to the doctor I was informed that I had been bitten by bed bugs. when I contacted the hotel the so called general manager told me very directly that I was a liar and I was trying to extort them. Thats interesting cause I never asked for any $ back but just wanted answers. His response was you are no longer allowed in our hotels and he was gonna file a police report. Just FYI hot water was down for a day and the TV's didn't work for a day. Stay at your own risk. read more

This place in fantastic. Brand new, clean - fantastic service top to bottom. Marriott never fails to impress. Went to check in and my room wasn't ready. Told them my fiance, who was working at any army facility nearby, wanted to be able to take a nap before an event that evening, and they upgraded us to a king suite free of charge. Fantastic. A few of my friends and I stayed here for a night because we were attending the Bridge School Benefit in mountain view. We drove all the way down from Reno so we wanted to make sure we'd be able to check in early. The staff was beyond pleasant and very accommodating when I called and when we checked in. They were nothing but friendly! They even let us check out at 1! They have a pretty decent pool and hot tub and the showers are huge! Beds were super comfy too :) The only reason this isn't getting 5 stars is because it was super loud! The walls were really really thin and we could hear the upstairs neighbor stomping all night! Like what are you doing stomping around at 4am?? Anyway the hotel itself is beautiful and the staff is fantastic, just bring ear plugs! read more

Disappointed with apparently immature front desk staff. I had a rare asthma choking episode at the front desk and could barely stand up. I grapled at the water dispenser there, but no cups were available. Cups were brought as I pleaded for some, but I was not even told they were available as I stood clutching the desk. I can't believe none of them had the courtesy or common sense to bring me a cop of water. I was shaken and upset. No return visit for me! read more

Really enjoyed our stay here. Nothing to fancy but the rooms were comfortable, new and great staff. They were very accommodating with a late check out and definitely didn't feel like they wanted you out of their hotel. I think this is how a guest should feel. Zero sense of hospitality. Last night was my friends 21st birthday and many of us came to her hotel room just to get ready for the night. "Someone" called the cops on us because they were smelling weed smoke. We weren't even smoking to begin with. Three cop cars pulled up and basically ruined our night. IMO - for that price point, they are average compared to peers But the front desk are friendly, despite a super slow check in if you re-book. Parking is tight Women will feel safe as it's opposite the Sunnyvale police department Their "business lobby" is different than what you might be used to but their computers are fast. read more

This is new Courtyard Marriott which opened less than 1 month ago. That being said, of course it is nice and clean and bright. They were still opening boxes of furniture during our stay. The staff is friendly enough. Check in and check out are fast and easy. The rooms are well-designed and comfortable. There is a mini-fridge for your use. There is Direct TV with tons of channels. The bathroom is large and spacious with Paul Mitchell care products. All that being said, the elevators are really slow. They also don't seem to have any "staff" elevators, so sometimes you have to crowd with the service personnel (none of the "you first, you're the customer" mentality). And while the rooms are new and appeared clean, I did find a few random hairs on the bathroom counter from a previous guest. The lobby is nice and inviting. Probably a little too inviting, because the entire time that we were there, there were screaming, loud kids running around in the lobby. But I suppose that's a parenting issue, not a hotel problem per se. The only last critique is the parking fee. It is $10 to park per night. It was NOT mentioned when I booked the room. Plus, this is surburban California. How else are you going to get to the hotel? Kind of just felt wrong to me to charge for parking. You should just add it to the hotel fee. read more

We stayed at the Courtyard Sunnyvale for three nights because we planned a birthday trip to go see a nearby Rolling Stones concert. This Courtyard by Marriott hotel is very special! First, it is a very well-located hotel, right off of El Camino Real, with quiet rooms. We enjoyed a spacious Junior Suite which was perfect for our needs. With two large screen tv's, one of us could watch tv, while the other watched a different program or slept. We loved the luxurious bedding, with white down comforters, custom duvets, and soft linens. The microwave and refrigerator were very convenient. The ability to recharge our phones, Kindles and computers was appreciated with a multitude of outlets. The beautiful double size shower was roomy. The breakfasts were great and the snack bar had what we needed, and the iced lemon water near the front desk was thoughtful. The outdoor seating near the lobby, pool and fitness center were great! We have stayed at primarily Courtyard by Marriott properties for decades and find them to be consistently comfortable with good pricing. Most importantly, they allow us to get a good night's sleep! The hotel's employees were friendly and helpful, from the front desk to the restaurant and housekeeping staff. This Courtyard hotel was newer and the décor was soothing and attractive in the rooms and throughout the public areas of the hotel. We would recommend this hotel without hesitation! read more

A new hotel in Sunnyvale. It's very modern and clean. The staff is great. The pool and fire pit area were much smaller than I have seen at others. It has a quick serve restaurant, as well as the mini store in the front lobby. The one drawback, is that it should offer a small safe in the room closets. Keep in mind, if you use Uber while there, that the main entrance is on the back side (off the street) and Uber may park on the street looking for you if you don't state exactly where you are. read more

I usually stay at the Palo Alto courtyard, but this one is newer and so beautiful. Front desk person who checked me in was very nice and professional. Parking is $10 and its self-parking, no security. You can charge your electric car here. I wish I took pictures, but I really liked the decor. I like the bathroom, and got some ideas for when I finished the bathroom in my basement. The palm trees outside were also nice. The bed was comfy, like all Marriott beds. The a/c worked very well, it got cold and was easy to turn off. I didn't use the restaurant or the market. But my husband said they didn't sell gum or mints, no big deal. I had a really good experience here, and will hopefully be able to stay here again, if the rate is right ;) read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. Of course its a new hotel so it at least has the appearance of something nice and fresh and clean, but the longer you are there the worse it gets. Bathroom was not properly stocked, there was some sort of stain on a pillow case/sheets on my bed, and the refrigerator hadn't been cleaned out from the previous guest. The hotel management is completely incompetent. It took me nearly 7 days of constant calls and requests to finally speak with a manager of the hotel which unfortunately only served to lower my opinion of the hotel and its staff. The hotel management also appears to have no appreciation for the fact that there are other hotels that I can and will be staying at in the future. Additionally, as another reviewer mentions the parking fee is a bit ridiculous. read more

My business partner and I attended a joint Sunnyvale and Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce event at the Marriott Courtyard in Sunnyvale. At Chamber of Commerce mixers, the purpose is to exchange business cards and other pertinent information such as flyers regarding your business. We were surprised and dismayed by the manager Anthony requesting us NOT to hand out our business flyers. We reminded him this is what we do when we attend these events. He proceeded to tell us that this was a grand opening for the hotel. What he FAILED to say is if the chamber members did not show up there would be NO grand opening. This is the WORST customer service experience I have ever received at any Marriott hotel. Anthony was rude, unprofessional and unfriendly. I don't plan on ever going to this hotel again! Anthony's customer service is a big fat 0! Stay away from this hotel. Not good customer service. read more

I think this property is a franchise so they make their own rules. Do not stay at this hotel if you think you may need the desk staff to help you out. If you have a reservation and stay as planned with no interaction with the staff then I think you'd be OK. I checked in at a rate of 139 and had to leave early because of a family emergency and, for some reason, they increased my rate to 209. All I got was a smile and "That's policy". Lip service. Further, I'm a Gold elite with Marriott and they charged me for internet access. In my experience, the management at this hotel will not help you out. The hotel itself i.e., room, bed, all inanimate objects arr fine. The staff is not good. read more

Helpful staff and it is new and clean. However, the ac is a wall unit, they charge for parking, have tiny rooms, and horrible pillows. the walls are thin so you can hear people walking around and talking at 7am and kids can yell and scream in the pool before 8am on Saturday and Sunday. I just had my two great stay experience at Courtyard Marriott at Sunnyvale CA. Staff were friendly and helpful, room were clean and just fit my need. I would definitely recommend it to others. However, one thing I do like is why there is a hidden fee as parking charge per night? I had not told this charge on this one when I checked in nor showed on the Courtyard webpage. I was impressed from the outside upon arrival. Upon entering the room I found that the bathroom had ants crawling all over the sink and up the wall. The cleaning staff must have not been notifying management of this. If they missed it then they were not cleaning. Then on the fourth night I found a cockroach in the shower. read more
