Also, there was a young woman who helped us and made sure we had what we needed with prompt service and attention but her name I cannot recall. Being in the hospitality business is tough work and I commend the people who serve selflessly with intentionality and care. Their service would have me stay here again. I would say the bathroom shutters were weird and an interesting option. They had a swing in the foyer! My husband got in it! Made me want a swing in my house. I'd say this place is not for kids really or families but you can make it work (my opinion). The location was great! We were close to shelter island and places to eat, get to the store or grab coffee. Only thing missing is a rooftop pool! Of course you pay for parking but the cool thing is you get valet service with that. I think that was kinda great! Everywhere you pay for parking right?! But at least we had our car valeted anytime we pulled up and they brought it out with this text service which was on time. They had a bar. Snacks at the front reception. We did let the front desk know but they seemed like it was no big deal. We were staying on the 3rd floor in the hallway with the elevators. Literally that entire part of the building was with a constant vibration and noise from about 3am, significantly interrupting sleep. It's a shame because we have stayed here numerous times and never had any issues. In fact, when I walked down the long hallway to go to the upper deck there was no sounds or vibrations in that hallway. Will definitely reconsider staying here in the future. It wasn't my bank's fault, as it kept being a pending charge for the entire week, until I called them on it. I did read in some Yelp reviews that some people did not secure their deposit back at all. I get that this property is in a party town, so they most likely have had tons of damages done to the rooms. However, even high-end Las Vegas hotels don't require anywhere near such a high fee. Perhaps because the property itself is so small, they feel the need to take it out on their patrons in the form of a hefty deposit. Beach Haven also has some of the snarkiest, most unwelcoming, rude and condescending staff. If you attempt to speak to manager Mickey, good luck with that. Speaking to her about anything will not yield any better results. She is even a worse example than the people below her that work the front desk. We had the only room outside the securely locked gate surrounding all other rooms. #115, which was adjacent to the city sidewalk. This made for a noisy situation until around 2:00am. I also considered #115 dangerous since the door locks were questionable as to whether or not they were actually locked at any given time. This is a security issue that needs to be taken care of. ALL other rooms in the small 2-story property were located securely inside. Those rooms surround a very small pool and both rooms and pool require a key card to access them. The Good: -The beach is right around the corner. -The hotel is clean and bug free. -The beds are comfortable. -Our room had a kitchen, which I did not ask for. (I don't think all of their guest rooms have a kitchen. I'm also not aware if I did or did not pay for a kitchen, because I got no positive feedback when I asked.) -The bathing area is large, but I had a problem with the shower. Beach Haven should consider upgrading their showers. Most standard showers in ANY hotel have hand-held shower sprayers and handicap rails. (Beach Haven has only one ADA room and the fact they told me that it's always booked and difficult to get should tell them something). -It's within walking distance to many restaurants, bars, a 7/11 and a Ralph's Grocery Store. I would not consider staying at Beach Haven again unless the current owners sell and replace their entire hospitality staff.

Check in went smoothly and put out stuff in the clean, comfortable room. Didn't need to drive, everything is just a few blocks away, yet it was so quiet that night, didn't hear any sounds. Got a good nights sleep in the comfortable bed. And spending some time in the hot tub Sunday morning before the 2 hour drive home was the chef's kiss on the weekend. Will be definitely be returning the next I head to San Diego, actually spent time figuring out how far it is from another concert I'd like to go to in May and found it's only about 7 miles away. Hotel notes: Check in is easy and thankfully they don't charge an additional fee for parking. The parking spots are SMALL, we had an SUV and were playing a fine line staying within the spots. All dog rooms are on the first floor. We had booked a single queen bed room, dog friendly. The bed was not a queen, MAYBE a full, maybe a little bigger than a twin mattress it was so small. Maybe if we were hobbit sized we would fit, but it was ridiculously small. The room is hot, the a/c did not feel like it fully kicked in until 4am. We were sweating in there. I honestly didn't even want to take pictures the place is so run down and I regret it. There is a dresser, small table and mirror cabinet. And a bathroom but size of a small closet. The toilet is so close to the sink, it's ridiculous. We could barely fit in it and the shower did NOT look clean. Near the Hotel: Across the street (unless the drummers cortège is there, they played until about 2am) there is a grassy area where dogs can relieve themselves, but if your dog is skittish AT ALL, it will be very hard to get them to go. There are multiple cafes, food spots and restaurants within a walking distance of the hotel. Very convenient. Beach notes: Beach is across the street but unless you are specifically at the dog beach be aware of the hours with pets. Summer (April 1 - October 31): Dogs are not allowed on the beach, boardwalk, or adjacent parks between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Allowed Hours: You may walk your dog on the regular beach only before 9:00 AM or after the evening cutoff (4:00 PM or 6:00 PM depending on the season), but they must be on a maximum 8-foot leash. More hotel notes: We booked two nights and canceled the second night the room was so uncomfortable. Thankfully they didn't charge us for not staying both nights and only for the one night. This was a birthday trip I was looking forward to for weeks, and HATED staying here so much. Save yourself the money and time and just book at a hotel a little bit away from the beach. They 100% Jack up the prices due to the location but just don't do it. It's not worth it.

Personally I am not picky like other people might be. I understand if there's some dust here and there or if the furniture is a bit outdated. As long as the beds are clean and the room is clean I'm ok. With that said. The room and bathroom were clean and the beds as well. The beds were soft and comfortable to sleep in. The lobby was also clean and the hotel was overall nice. The parking is 20 or so a night. But there's plenty of parking. The area surrounding the hotel is nice. A lot of places to walk to and look around. My family had a great time and we will definitely be coming back.

He poured excellent drinks, was a great conversationalist, and somehow managed a very busy hotel bar single-handedly while also taking food orders and delivering meals. Talk about multitasking! The location in Point Loma's Liberty Station is terrific, with beautiful waterfront walking paths and parks nearby. There's some city and aircraft noise from nearby SAN, but planes aren't flying directly overhead. A comfortable bar, great atmosphere, and outstanding hospitality. I can't speak to the guest rooms since I stayed next door, but I'd happily return for another cocktail! Solid 4.5 stars, and a special shout-out to Mike for keeping everything running smoothly!

When we arrived, he wasn't able to find my reservation due to my error and made everything right. I was on the verge of tears because of how accommodating, calm and friendly he was. He didn't make me feel bad and he said he was able to quickly make the reservation. He truly made my day go from horrible to amazing with his customer service and caring attitude. Thank you, thank you Andres for going above and beyond for us!!!! We will definitely be back!!!

So loud , walls are paper thin and later parking lot filled with smoke which was drawn into our A/C unit! Heavenly Bed excellent! if you do stay on the 2nd floor the laundry room is there. Fitness center on 1st floor and Lobby you can find a nice sitting area , bar , market , atm , and in the mornings complimentary breakfast. Pool? it's shared with San Diego Marriott right next door and looks great for the summer. Self Parking stalls was a bit small if you have a larger size car and daily parking rate was reasonable. Staff excellent service! Do recommend ! Will certainly return again

We…read morechose this hotel primarily for its convenient Mission Valley location and because it's a newer property + has a kitchenette. Check-in was smooth and straightforward although our phone interactions with the staff made it clear that the hotel was still fairly new. The first time I called to request a pack n play - I was put on hold for a few minutes and the girl seemed a little unsure, but we eventually got everything sorted. The second time, we called the day of our stay to see if early check-in was available. The gentleman who answered ended up walking us through the steps to reserve a room instead, which was a little confusing. That said, neither experience took away from our overall stay. Everyone we encountered in person was friendly and welcoming. One thing I really liked was the 24/7 beverage station with coffee, hot chocolate, and hot water with tea bags available. There was also a complimentary evening tea service from 7-8:30pm with three varieties of tea which we enjoyed. Complimentary breakfast is available from 6-9:30am. The variety was just okay, with fruit, breads, pastries, yogurt, juices, cereal, Quaker oatmeal packets (unfortunately no original flavor), and a hot bar with freshly made pancakes and frittatas. Nothing particularly stood out, but it was nice to have breakfast included. We checked out right at 9:30am and stopped by the breakfast area to grab a few bananas for the road. The staff were already cleaning up, but one of the staff members kindly went into the kitchen and brought us three bananas along with some pastries for the kids. That was such a thoughtful gesture and definitely appreciated! One small miss during our stay was the conditioner in the bathroom. The bottle was essentially empty and we could barely squeeze anything out. Not a huge deal for a one-night stay, but it didn't seem to be checked often. Parking is $38/night. I liked that you can grab a ticket from the machine, but the gate automatically opens when you exit. There is a mix of covered and uncovered open parking. The spaces are definitely on the tighter side, but we found that to be pretty common throughout San Diego.
