Flavored syrups for coffee were an added bonus. There was a wait to get in, about 30 minutes around noon so plan accordingly. They also offer a to go option if you're in a rush which is nice. Even when 'at capacity' there were still tables open. I wish there were more lounge options in this terminal but if you can't get into the chase lounge, or afford it, this is a reasonable second option.

Start with the room itself. Tables sit uncleared for 30 minutes to an hour--plates, glasses, trash just stacking up while people circle like it's musical chairs. The carpet is visibly stained, and the "wood" flooring is literally peeling up in places. Not worn--failing. Then you notice the details. Paint peeling. Fixtures beat up. Bathrooms that look like they haven't seen a proper wipe-down in a while--dirty counters, rough doors, zero sense of upkeep. It's not one thing--it's everything. And the food... if you can call it that. It looks exactly like this--(see photo)--a sad, picked-over spread that feels closer to a neglected motel breakfast than an airport lounge. Nothing looks fresh. Nothing looks intentional. It's just there. The coffee machines? Constantly broken. Not a fluke--consistently down. In an airport lounge. Let that sink in. The overarching theme is simple: everything technically exists, but nothing actually works. No attention to detail, no pride, no standard. I've been in crowded lounges. I've been in dated lounges. I've been in mediocre lounges. This is the first one that just feels poorly run at every level.

From the moment you sit at the bar, Carina makes you feel genuinely welcome. She has a natural warmth and confidence that instantly sets the tone for a great night. No matter how busy it gets, she stays calm, focused, and attentive--always making time for a smile or a quick conversation. Her drinks are consistently amazing. Every cocktail is perfectly balanced, beautifully presented, and made with obvious care and precision. Whether you're ordering a classic favorite or asking her to surprise you, she delivers every single time. You can tell she truly knows her craft. What really makes Carina stand out, though, is how she connects with her customers. She remembers names, favorite drinks, and little details that make you feel valued. She's not just serving drinks--she's creating an experience. Her energy is contagious, and she makes the bar feel like the best seat in the house. If you're heading to Club Marina, do yourself a favor and grab a spot at Carina's bar. You'll get incredible drinks--but even better service and an unforgettable vibe.

Every other time, I have been able to quickly access this swanky lounge and eat and drink away as if it were my last meal on earth. The food is always delicious. And in case you though there weren't enough options already at the buffet, there's a whole separate menu you can order from by scanning the QR code at your table. There are plenty of outlets for charging. There are spa services, but I can't speak for those (yet). I am also an AMEX Platinum cardholder and although I didn't think Chase could out-do the Centurion lounges, Sapphire Reserve is on par or has a slight edge. Also, you can bring at least one guest into the Chase lounge whereas for US-based Centurion lounges, AMEX cardholders have to spend $75,000 annually to enjoy the same guest benefit.

Even though I have both the Sapphire Reserve and Ritz Card they refused me entry until 3 hours before the flight. I understand that rule is if you are not on a layover, but there definitely should be an exemption if you are laying over in San Diego (isn't that really the whole point of a lounge anyways?) I'd also be fine with the 3 hour rule if the lounge was full, but again... it was pretty empty in there and I was a party of 1. Wish they would adapt the policy.

The lounge itself is classy and has a refined ambience. It was surprisingly crowded at 7am, but we managed to get a small table. You can get food and drinks at the buffet though the selection is small, but you can also order food to be delivered to your table by scanning a bar code on your table. I ordered made-to-order scrambled eggs and sausage which arrived surprisingly quickly. One bite told me it was pre-made as the eggs and sausage were both cold. I got pastry from the bar and it was stale. The espresso machine was out of order so had to get pre-made coffee, which tasted watered down. The service ladies were friendly, the interior was nice albeit crowded, but the food was very disappointing. Wife liked it a little more than I did but not by much.

A classic rock cover band The Locals were playing. We walked in just after 5:00 and the place was pretty full, but we lucked out and scored a tall four-top just off of the dance floor. Our table had great, unobstructed views to the stage. Laura was our server. Man! This lovely young woman was on point! It was crowded, she had a lot of tables, but Laura was on it! We were never left wanting for another beverage. Our food orders were taken quickly. Our food was delivered without delay and piping hot. When it was time to go, our check was brought to us immediately upon request. Outstanding service from Laura. The food was excellent. We shared the Shrimp Cocktail with house made cocktail sauce and the Korean Beef Spring Rolls (kimchi | garlic chile ponzu) appetizers. The shrimp were huge! The largest shrimp we'd ever seen in a shrimp cocktail. The cocktail sauce was awesome. The spring rolls were fantastic! The garlic chile ponzu dipping sauce was devine! AND there was plenty of it. Kimchi provided an great palate cleanser. Prices were not bad at all either considering the venue. Two beers, two seltzers and the food were $63 and change. A relative bargain! An overall great night for Becky's birthday.

The reservation was for 5:30, luckily a block away there's a parking lot (you do have to pay) as their personal parking lot fits 5-6 cars. The hostess was a sweetheart and super accommodating, as we were a few minutes late due to the parking situation and we had a great seat that showed the open layout with the chandelier, the back panel by the entrance with all the stars, etc. Overall: Service, exceptional. (5/5) Our waitress: Kelly, was a sweetheart, informative, mindful on consistent check-in's for refills, drinks, going over steps of the menu (e.g. - small bites, entrees, dessert, didn't feel rushed or too pushy, and considerate on time, and promptness). The waiter that came by mid-video to do the torch component of the butters we added on to our meats was great, I love that it's table side because it enhances the experience to the ambiance and you can squeeze a little video in. If you do go for your birthday, as I did, they provide you with a dessert outside of their choices, however, we did overindulge a bit. Overall, I had a phenomenal experience for my birthday dinner, the music/ambiance was great, service was great, and the food quality for both the meat choices we got, sides (caesar salad, broccoli, and macaroni) we're all SO yummy! I will definitely be back!

When we arrived, there was no line at all. Security was really nice, and we got in easily. There weren't many people inside around 10 PM, and I definitely feel like this bar is more of a "grab a drink, sit with your friends, and chat" type of spot. It's not a club or a dancing bar. We ordered a round of shots and a mixed tequila drink. It wasn't strong at all, but it was really delicious, and I genuinely enjoyed it. The server was also super nice, especially since our friend's mom kept ordering drinks and shots. He brought everything out quickly and with great service. I really loved the architecture and ambiance. It had a darker, cozy vibe, very much a small, deep-bar aesthetic.
