    grilled chicken and bacon quesadilla

I stayed at Courtyard Poughkeepsie for 2 nights when I was attending a wedding in the area. The hotel is in a great location in the Hudson River Valley. The hotel room was very spacious with a king bed, couch that turns into a sofa bed, refrigerator, and moveable workspace. There is ample parking spaces. In the lobby, there is a 24-hour market stocked with snacks and necessities next to check-in/check-out counter. Also, there is The Bistro which is open for breakfast-Mon-Fri: 6:30 AM-9:30 AM and Sat-Sun: 7:00 AM-10:00 AM and for dinner Mon-Sat: 5:00 PM-10:00 PM. The Bistro proudly serves Starbucks Coffee beverages and offers a variety of food and drink options. I arrived on a Thursday night about 8:00 PM and checked out The Bistro. It wasn't too busy and we ordered at the counter and found a table to sit. The staff member brought the food to us. I had The Bistro Burger which had aged white cheddar, lettuce, tomato and garlic aioli on a brioche roll with french fries. It was quite good and the fries were very crispy. My husband had the grilled chicken and bacon quesadilla that came with tomato salsa and avocado mash. The staff members we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out were an easy process.

Very clean, spacious and convenient Courtyard franchise. Ample parking space. Staffs were courteous and helpful. Im speechless for how great this courtyard is.

Stayed here for one night since it was close to a private event that I attended. When checking in, the staff asked if I wanted a higher or lower floor and I chose the higher floor. But she said I had to wait for a room so I just opted for a lower floor. Btw, this hotel only has two floors and has multiple entrances except entrance B was not usable. Zero views and just looks out at the parking lot but does have a small balcony. While walking to my room, there was a cigarette smell coming from a room nearby and can smell it in the hallway. And once I entered my room, the cleaning person left their cleaning spray. Makes me wonder if this room was even cleaned. The bed was made though and new towels were hung. However, when I pulled the blanket off, I noticed stains on the bedsheet (as pictured). It was too late in the night to ask for a new one so had to sleep on the other side which defeats the purpose of sleeping on a king bed. The fan in the room is also very loud and the couch has multiple stains on it. Not the Courtyard quality that I expected, tbh, as a Marriott person (esp when a night cost $191). I'd probably not stay at this location again

Basic Marriott, I stayed here while visiting Hyde Park and the FDR estate. Located in Poughkeepsie, about six miles away. Right now it's actually undergoing a total facelift. Two stories with long hallways snaking off the lobby. Large lobby with plenty of lounge seating and a small business center. Counter area for serving coffee and breakfast, though right now breakfast is grab and go. Fast checkin, helpful staff. They accommodated my late checkout request. Though the hotel is right off a main road, my room was quiet and I wasn't disturbed. Little balcony area on some of the second floor rooms. Great blackout curtains. Room has a decent bed, convenient seating area by the patio. My only suggestion is that they add the Amazon Prime app and HBO Max app to their TV home screens so a second device isn't needed to watch TV on these platforms. Convenient spot to stay while traversing the Hudson Valley and Catskills. Would stay again.

Hotel options in Poughkeepsie were few and far between. I've had good experiences at Courtyards in other cities, so decided to give it a shot. What's most striking about this particular hotel is the layout. It's only three floors and I was placed on the terrace floor with a sliding glass door that walked out into the parking lot. It wasn't ideal to have people right outside my door, so I would probably be asked to be on the top floor if I ended up here again. In general, the room felt very outdated in design, but had a comfy bed, desk area, TV equipped with the capability to access internet TV, and all the bathroom amenities you may expect. Wifi was free and simple to access. Every Courtyard has a "bistro" area and this was no different. They serve Starbucks drinks and standard food. It was nice to be able to grab yogurt, bananas, and water in the mornings. The lobby also feels updated, with a few computers and plenty of seating. If they took time to update the rooms to be inline with other Courtyards you may find, I could see this being more of a four star experience!

Room was lovely at a reasonable price, with a balcony, ice bucket, coffee machine, and iron. Pool and fitness center were closed due to COVID during the summer. The lobby is a spacious and chic lounge with a fireplace surrounded by sunken seating. No microwave in room, there is one downstairs in the lobby where they sell snacks, beer, and toiletries. Free breakfast was a bagel and coffee, Starbucks brand.

We understood there was issues with the air conditioning and hot water, but Sharon and George did everything in their power to try to make everything else in our stay as wonderful as possible. They made sure staff accommodated us with portable air conditioners and fans for not only us but also the other guests who came and stayed overnight for our big day. They had us situated in their best suites possible to get ready in the morning and Sharon would periodically check in on us and ask if there's anything else she can possibly do. They also made sure that after our wedding ended and we all came back to the hotel for a little after party that they had the appropriate amount of bar staff and drinks supplied for us and our guests as we enjoyed watching the Knicks win a championship. What started out as unfortunate wound up turning out to be the best day of our lives. Thank you to the staff at Doubletree for helping us turn a not so good situation into a weekend I'll never forget for all the best reasons.

She was able to tell us that they had open rooms, but she was unable to book it because it was after midnight and suggested we call the 800 number. When we called customer service we were put on hold so they could call the front desk to see if they had rooms. We were the only people in the lobby and could hear her talking to customer service telling them that we were there. I was also told by the woman on the phone that they were holding the night audit for us to be able to book a room. I'm not sure what that has to do with our reservation or why that should be my concern when I am exhausted from driving. After paying almost triple and finally heading to our room, we were able to finally go to sleep. The room itself was not horrible, but it's very musty smelling and hard to really see out because the windows are so gross. When we called room service this morning, there was no answer. When I called the café, we were told that on the weekends they don't have room service even though the website says they offer it. We were then told to file a complaint so corporate would maybe realize that they need to take it off the website. The gentleman also told us that they don't like to do room service and do not usually do it because they have many female employees and they don't feel comfortable going to the rooms. He said if he's not busy himself, he will go instead. This is 100% not a customer service oriented hotel.

If you've never stayed at a Home2Suites by Hilton, they are one of my favorite of Hilton's brands. The rooms are always well appointed and spacious and the interiors have a modern feel. For my stay, I stayed in a king suite, which includes a nice sitting area, mobile desk, large screen TV, kitchenette (with refrigerator, dishes, dishwasher, sink, and microwave), and convenient closet for hanging clothing items and dresser for folded items. The staff here work hard to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible, including texting a few times to check in throughout to ensure you're enjoying your stay. Like most Hilton's, they have a snack shop in the lobby area with a self serve check out (where you can charge it to your room or to your card). I appreciate this so I can get a little something to eat on days where I'm spending a lot of time in the hotel working. The parking lot is well lit and felt safe. I was able to park in front under lights on both occasions that I stayed here. Get to it!

Days Inn by Wyndham Poughkeepsie is now Quality Inn/ Rodeway Way Inn…read more For my past experiences with Quality Inn, they have always been positive. I have always enjoyed their complimentary breakfast and clean rooms. But after staying here, I have learned not all Quality Inns are the same. This location was horrible and would not recommend anyone to stay here. I stayed here with my husband for one night, from Friday evening to Saturday. When we checked in on Friday evening, this employee did not greet us when we came in. She just stared at me until I told her we were here to check in. Instead of asking me for my ID, she said "ID". She did not tell us what time breakfast hours would be the next day and there are no signs posted in the lobby or in our room (but figured breakfast would at least be available between 8-9 am so I make sure to wake up in time and head over to get some the next morning). After she issued me my 2 card keys, she just said to go around back to the room. I had to ask her to clarify and then I headed to my car and drove over to our room. I don't know what her problem was but I think I could have used a little less of the attitude. It is clear that this employee doesn't really care about her job (nor did the different employee I interacted with the next morning at the front desk). We got a king size bed. The room itself was clean from first glance and the room was spacious enough. But later on, I found some yellow stains on the comforter we used... The bathroom was really cramp. The toilet seat had stains on it that did not come out with alcohol wipes. I hung my towel on the hanger in the outside closet so that it would be easier for me to dry my hands than to close the door to use the towel on the door hook. The next morning, I was incredibly disappointed with the breakfast. The breakfast had small cups of Activia yogurt (maybe 2 oz, not the larger 4 oz size), cold cereal you dispense yourself, milk and assorted bread/ pastry (small selection). The waffle machine was broken. The coffee machine was also not working. Another guest had asked about the waffle machine and the employee at the front desk said that other guests turn it off and on, which is why it doesn't work. When the same guest had asked about the coffee, the employee had said it wasn't plugged in, which is why it wasn't working. But she did not bother to plug it in to have it work... It was annoying to hear excuses from this employee while I tried to figure out what I wanted to get for breakfast (honestly, I ended up just getting 2 of the yogurts and went back to my room and then ended up going somewhere else for breakfast after I checked out). This employee had the same attitude as the other employee the night before, in which she was very apathetic and didn't care. She didn't apologize or offer a solution. The only thing possibly going for this hotel is the price. I was surprised to see how expensive hotels are in Hyde Park and Poughkeepsie. This was one of the more affordable locations, but was still pricey for what we got. If you can stay somewhere else or keep on driving to the next city to save some money, don't stay here.
