Parking at the front was usually full but they do have parking on the side of the hotel which was plentiful with a nearby entrance to the parking which is locked between 11pm-6am and requires a room key to open. We stayed on the 3rd floor and the room was quiet, only heard at times people walking and taking in the hallway. The bathroom and room was clean, walk in shower had good water pressure. The room itself is comfortable, but we did have difficulty fully closing the blackout curtains (we used a hanger with the clamps to keep it closed for privacy at night). The bed is ok, spring mattress with pillow top cover. The room also had a mini fridge, microwave, and safety deposit box. When you check in you also get a $10 coupon to use for grubhub to order from local restaurants. Breakfast is free and standard for typical Hampton Inn's.

The front desk staff was warm and welcoming and even checked on us throughout the trip. Unfortunately the room wasn't in great condition as it had black mold in the bathroom, the beds were very stiff and the blackout blinds were missing a hook and wouldn't allow the curtains to fully close.

The location is also a huge plus--super convenient for getting around South Bend. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout my stay, which always makes a difference. Check-in was smooth, and any questions I had were handled quickly. The first game wasn't until 1pm on a Saturday and with check-in being 3pm, we didn't think we'd be able to sneak in at 10am. Lo and behold, we were pleasantly surprised with Travis and his manager's decision to graciously allow us to check in early. After an almost 3-hour car ride, it was nice to get an hour to lay down and take a break from the car. The hotel room was clean and thankfully void of any smells, especially smoke related. It was a little tight for any more than two grown men, but we did have to get a king room so other larger hockey families could take the double beds. The bathroom had a glass partition versus a curtain, something I look for in a proper hotel. The lobby was modern with a lot of seating and places to enjoy the complementary breakfast. The staffing all around was friendly and helpful, with pleasant greetings and smiles. Overall, a decent value for the price. Decent facilities and the perfect location for a hockey tourney. We'd come back again!

This one is not typical of a Fairfield. We were staying 1 night on this trip. Parking lot is suspect. Inside looked a bit better. The breakfast area is ok. The chairs are old and worn. I did not eat the next morning. The elevator is pretty dirty and smells. My room was ok. It was clean. That's I guess the best I could hope. No USB-C or A plugs in room at all. Annoying. I could plug in my laptop and connect to the internet. However, it wouldn't let my iPhone connect. What's with that!? I thought I was without a hair dryer but it was in the closet upper shelf toward the back. I couldn't see it. But then found it. TV was small but adequate. Not many channel options. It is close to some decent food choices. The hotel is old and run down. I do have to say the staff was nice and it was clean. Except the elevator. But I'll pass.

Other reviews cover it but there are issues with cleanliness, mold, air quality, the beds, visible disrepair on exterior building. The breakfast food was really low quality. The staff we met were helpful and nice, and resolved a serious mistake on the part of the hotel's general manager (who was absent when we checked in and unresponsive to calls earlier in the day). Marriott should seriously consider closing this hotel until they can renovate or find new management and then do serious changes to the hotel's cleanliness. Stay here only if you can't find another place for a reasonable price.

I don't believe we…read morehad a choice of hotels - pay to play/stay - so we actually were upcharged the price so the tournament was making money off us at every opportunity. Anyways, check in was easy and before the posted time. YAY - star for that. We were on the first floor and our room was COLD - which was a sign at least the A/C worked. We've stayed at places that it did not. Star for that. Also, linens were clean and beds were comfortable. Star for that. I shower at night - so that first night, I got in the shower and quickly found out it was broken. While water came out the shower head, it also sprayed EVERYWHERE as the cord had a leak at the connection to the wall. I managed to not get too much water on the bathroom floor, but had a crappy shower as I tried to quickly get clean so I could turn the water off. My hubby showered in the AM and he got water all over the floor. I had to use bath towels to create a dry space for us to walk and use the vanity/toilet. While he was in the bathroom in the AM, I used the public ladie's room across the hall to put on my makeup. The toilet was running NON STOP. So I reported both as we headed out for the day. It was a Saturday and I expected nothing to get fixed - surprisingly, both were fixed when we returned that night. No lost star but no added star. Later that day I went to work out. I had briefly peeked in the fitness center and saw they had dumbbells. I planned to do a strength work out. HOWEVER, when I went in to begin my exercise, I saw the had 1 3 pounder, 1 10 pounder and then the rest were 25, 35, and higher. No strength work out for my. I had to do cardio. So I went to turn on the TV that's hung on the wall - NOTHING. No signal. So it was just me and my thoughts. Which makes for an extra miserable workout. Next let down - went to breakfast. They had a neat coffee machine - but no decaf. And they only had 2 tea options. I then went to look for fruit. I love it when they have cut up fruit - or at least a variety of whole fruit. Again - nothing but small apples. Which I had to go with as I had to eat something. Fortunately, I had packed some bananas and granola - otherwise it would have been an even more disappointing breakfast. Final problem - as we were settling in for the night, a dog started barking - and barking - and barking non-stop. After 20 minutes, I called to the front desk and told them a room very near us had a dog that was constantly barking. The staff did respond as I could hear them knocking a door - but apparently, there was no one in the room - but the dog. As the barking did not stop for a while. We heard the dog again later - but at least it was not while we are sleeping. I have stayed at dog-friendly hotels - but NEVER had I experienced a situation like this. PEOPLE - do better! Don't leave your damn dog unattended in the room in case it does start barking - and won't stop.

No daily housekeeping HOWEVER all requests were honored at any time including trash pickup. Free laundry room which came in handy with my family situation. Used the fitness center, two treadmills, free weights other machines. Small but worked for what I needed. Bathroom and shower in the fitness center. Two tvs. Super Bowl game was on the humongous tv in the lobby. Breakfast vouchers included for each morning. Buffet style of hot and cold items. Eggs, sausage, fruit, bagels, danish, cereal, coffee, tea, pancakes, hot chocolate. Attending staff very helpful and visible. Shout out to Julia, super friendly and helpful. Unfortunately no hand sanitizer is provided on the buffet or signs encouraging people to use a clean plate each visit. Staff really made us feel at home, really liked the personal touch. Front desk staff are awesome! Tammy has been there for 18 years and she has consistently been amazing. Jamie checked me in late and it was so easy. She continued to be helpful throughout the stay. I'll be excited when they upgrade the rooms with smart tvs but the channel selection is pretty good. Great place to stay with a family. Close to everything!
