Spent the night while enroute to Missouri. The entrance was under constructions, so it was bit hectic trying to get into the parking lot. The staff member that greeted me was welcoming and friendly, got my key and headed the room. The dining area was all closed due to covid-19, no breakfast, no gym etc. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. The hotel is surrounding by tons of fast food joints since all you can do right now is take-out/drive thru.

I booked a same-day reservation at Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott South Bend Mishawaka for my cross-country drive. Althought the website for this hotel says it's 24 hours, there was nobody at the front desk to greet me upon arrival, and the after-hours number listed on the front door went straight to voicemail when dialed. I waited 30 minutes in front of the property, as the entrance door was locked due to it being after hours, and I figured the employee might be on break, but nobody showed up. I attempted to call every number listed for the hotel during that time, but the hotel line rang and rang, and the after-hours number went straight to voicemail every time. I was unable to even get inside the lobby to wait for an employee to show up, and it was getting later and later into the night, so I was forced to give up and go to a different hotel nearby. Not until I was already showering at my new hotel did I receive a callback from the after-hours number, which I missed since I was in the shower, yet still went straight to voicemail when called back. Since I was unable to even get into the hotel, let alone check in, I attempted to request a refund. I was met with a response from the hotel saying that they have strict refund policies and they wouldn't be able to offer me a refund on my booking. I thought this was wild, as I wasn't even able to check in, and I had to continue my drive across the country, so I was forced to go elsewhere. This experience really opened my eyes and gave me a negative opinion of the Marriott brand. I wanted to share my unfortunate experience in hopes that it might lead to some changes that make things better for any future customers.

This Fairfield Inn and Suites is amazing because of the great staff, amazing amenities, and a nice hot breakfast. These things and the friendliness of the staff made for the 5 star rating. The rooms and hotel need a style update as the lobby furniture is worn and the cleanliness (aka dusting and details of room cleaning) needs a little bit of work. Again the staff made up for any cleanliness downfalls. The corporate artwork in all of the Fairfield Inn and Suites is bound to drive any detail oriented person bonkers with the typo making the alphabet 27 letters long. But the shining star in my entire stay was the Front Desk Supervisor Layne Galloway. He is the bees knees, the cats pajamas and even then some. His kind personality, amazing restaurant recommendation and his bubbly upbeat personality not just to me but to everyone who stepped foot on the property was what will bring me back here again. Thank you Fairfield Inn and Suites Mishawaka for making me feel at home away from home.

We are a hockey team that came from 5 hours away and selected this hotel as one of the options to stay in through the tournament company. Selection of our choices is based on many aspects but mainly due to amenities listed such as a pool, conference rooms, and continental breakfast so that our group of 17 .... 11-12 year old players and siblings have something to do while at the hotel. It was unfortunate to find out there would not be a conference area to allow the team to have an area to hang out/eat/talk in however we knew we could make it work as we have in the past. We arrived and the pool was closed with no ETA of reopening, and the following basic things were unavailable for us: Soap, Kleenex, Toilet Paper, Housekeeping, and adequate towels per room. Seems from the one and only other review on here that is an ongoing problem along with being understaffed - could it be due to the terrible management and hostile environment making this a less than desirable location to work? More information is in my attached photo.

There's lots of parking and a smooth process for check-in, and the price makes it even better. There's lots of seating in the lobby area. With a big screen TV, booths are over to the side with a small private TV for viewing. The elevator is over to the left from the front desk. It was not complicated to find the room, and seeing the ice machine before finding my room was a bonus for me, even in this cold. I liked that the floor was nice and clean, with no bad smell as you searched for your room. The room is a little outdated, but it was nice and clean, so that's a plus, with the basic body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and hand soap complimentary. I like the size of the couch and table in the room, including the desk and the TV, with a few drawers to store your clothing. The closet is a good size with an ironing board, extra hangers, a pillow, and a blanket. I had no issue with my keycard not working Overall, it was a good stay, and for the price, it was worth it. And the lady who worked until 11 p.m. can't remember her name. She has a short bob haircut. She's so welcoming and pleasant, not to mention she remembers your name, which makes you smile, especially if you are having a rough day.

I have been staying at the Courtyard Marriott in Mishawaka since October 2025. I stay here four…read moredays a week for work. I continue to stay here every week because of the customer service of EVERYONE that works at that hotel. There are three front desk workers (Rosie Bostic, Jadaela, and Julie who are so kind and friendly everytime I check in, they always offer water and always check to ensure my favorite room is available. They also greet me by name every time I walk by the front desk multiple times a day. Crystal, Ashley, and Hudson always give me a gracious pour of my favorite Cabernet and offer very friendly conversation while I wait on my weekly food delivery. I notice throughout the week they are always having friendly conversation with anyone sitting at the bistro. I am going to lump Haley and Aaron (management) and Richard and Gionni (maintenance) together because anytime I have had an issue with heat in a room, they have worked swiftly to fix the issue or immediately move me to another room. This is a relatively old building so hvac issues are expected, but have only occurred twice in my 5 months of staying here weekly. Both have been heat not working in the room. Both times have been handled swiftly and with little inconvenience to me as the customer. Finally, I have stayed in at least 7 different rooms on the third floor including the suite and I will say every single room is always extremely clean. Yolanda, Bree, Estephany, and Amber are always cleaning the rooms when I am leaving or coming back to the hotel throughout the day. My schedule is pretty flexible so I will usually leave around 7:45 and I may return several times a day usually around 10:30, 1:30ish, and between 4-5. I have also forgotten my key several times and they are always accommodating with getting me a replacement key. The housekeeping staff is always either on the elevator with cleaning supplies going to a floor or they are on the third floor with the door open cleaning a room. I usually do not use their services throughout the week because I am pretty tidy, but if I have needed something like an extra towel or an additional wash cloth, they are always prompt with getting me what I need. This review wouldn't be complete without mentioning Kameli who has been an excellent sales manager for my work account. She ensures my corporate rate is always applied to my weekly reservation and she gave me a lovely customer gift during the holiday season. Everyone at the Courtyard Marriott in Mishawaka has made traveling for work much more enjoyable and I will be sad when this assignment ends and I have to move on from this lovely staff.

After an almost 3-hour car ride, it was nice to get an hour to lay down and take a break from the car. The hotel room was clean and thankfully void of any smells, especially smoke related. It was a little tight for any more than two grown men, but we did have to get a king room so other larger hockey families could take the double beds. The bathroom had a glass partition versus a curtain, something I look for in a proper hotel. The lobby was modern with a lot of seating and places to enjoy the complementary breakfast. Anyways, check in was easy and before the posted time. YAY - star for that. We were on the first floor and our room was COLD - which was a sign at least the A/C worked. We've stayed at places that it did not. Star for that. Also, linens were clean and beds were comfortable. Star for that. I shower at night - so that first night, I got in the shower and quickly found out it was broken. While water came out the shower head, it also sprayed EVERYWHERE as the cord had a leak at the connection to the wall. I managed to not get too much water on the bathroom floor, but had a crappy shower as I tried to quickly get clean so I could turn the water off. My hubby showered in the AM and he got water all over the floor. I had to use bath towels to create a dry space for us to walk and use the vanity/toilet. While he was in the bathroom in the AM, I used the public ladie's room across the hall to put on my makeup. The toilet was running NON STOP. So I reported both as we headed out for the day. It was a Saturday and I expected nothing to get fixed - surprisingly, both were fixed when we returned that night. No lost star but no added star. Later that day I went to work out. I had briefly peeked in the fitness center and saw they had dumbbells. I planned to do a strength work out. HOWEVER, when I went in to begin my exercise, I saw the had 1 3 pounder, 1 10 pounder and then the rest were 25, 35, and higher. No strength work out for my. I had to do cardio. So I went to turn on the TV that's hung on the wall - NOTHING. No signal. So it was just me and my thoughts. Which makes for an extra miserable workout. Next let down - went to breakfast. They had a neat coffee machine - but no decaf. And they only had 2 tea options. I then went to look for fruit. I love it when they have cut up fruit - or at least a variety of whole fruit. Again - nothing but small apples. Which I had to go with as I had to eat something. Fortunately, I had packed some bananas and granola - otherwise it would have been an even more disappointing breakfast. Final problem - as we were settling in for the night, a dog started barking - and barking - and barking non-stop. After 20 minutes, I called to the front desk and told them a room very near us had a dog that was constantly barking. The staff did respond as I could hear them knocking a door - but apparently, there was no one in the room - but the dog. As the barking did not stop for a while. We heard the dog again later - but at least it was not while we are sleeping. I have stayed at dog-friendly hotels - but NEVER had I experienced a situation like this. PEOPLE - do better! Don't leave your damn dog unattended in the room in case it does start barking - and won't stop.
