My fiancé and I decided to take a last minute Lee-wedding trip for New Years and we were pleasantly surprised by the hotel. The hotel was new, very clean, and the rooms were large! The front desk staff was SO helpful and willing to go above and beyond. Very nice hotel I actually like this Marriott over most others because of the location and the way it's built. This building faces away from the main traffic and there are a lot of trees around which makes it comfortable. 90 min drive from Manhattan and away from all the congestion one would think are you still in NY? But this place the restaurants are in the same business park and if you like Outback, Chiles, or Applebee's then you can have it delivers to your hotel. 3 days on on business and enjoyed it here. read more

I was not expecting this. Stayed here and could not get clean sheets. Housekeeping is gone at 5:00 and if you check in after your stuck with the fact that they don't change the sheets every time someone cheeks out. Body hairs all over sheets and they were not white. The sheets were yellow. I slept on top of the sheets. I'm clothes. Business trip went way bad. I work for Microsoft and can't believe this. It's in a good location. Nice room, mediocre beds. The king bed is def big but not that comfortable- feels kind of like a cot. That should be the most important feature of a hotel room. For $150/night, I expected more. Breakfast is not included but it has a pool (albeit small) that our kids really enjoyed. They bathroom was stingy with the towels but since we didn't stay more than one night we didn't ask for more, which I'm sure they would have provided. I stayed here 3 or 4 times.. i like that a microwave and fridge is included w/ a room but kinda upset that they upped the prices to round $169 for a room when it used to be $120 a couple months ago. :-/ im not willing to shell out that amount of money in this type of economy when i can get a room across the street for half the price (Microtel) When i feel like slurging i'll come here but prolly wouldnt be revisiting any time soon. read more

Worst and most unfriendly customer service I have ever experienced. NEVER have a party here, So unhelpful and rude employees. WIll never use them again. This hotel needs to stop over booking. I've been going back and forth to weddings over the past 12 weeks and in two of those instances, someone attending the wedding didn't get the room they reserved. It was literally a matter of who can check in first who gets a place to sleep. The staff manage as best as they can but it's clearly a top down issue. read more

Wonderful hotel -- we had guests for our wedding and rehearsal dinner (which were both in nearby Washingtonville, NY) and it was a phenomenal experience for everyone. This place is nice and cozy, immaculately clean and has wonderful and friendly people staffing it. The pool and hot tub were great, the bar -- with big fireplaces -- was a nice place for everyone to unwind at the end of the night and the rooms were awesome too. More than anything, Kerry and Jenna were so so so helpful and communicative throughout the process. Customer service at its finest. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone! read more

BEDBUGS! I checked in to a very attentive front desk team, but was horrified to have 6 bites on me the next morning. I was there for only 2 nights, but I still have the literal scars on my arms. It was reported, but nothing done. Steer clear. I had to discard all of my clothes from the trip, as well as luggage. Unsanitary, and unkempt, despite the amenities. read more

We chose the Courtyard Marriott of Middletown as the hotel for our guests to stay after our wedding. In the beginning my now husband worked with Kerry to coordinate the blocking of rooms and reserving the late night bar. We were then told we would be working with Robyn. My husband asked Robyn for a list of guests staying at both the Courtyard and the Hampton and was twice sent the wrong wedding. Soon after my mother and father took over the hotel details and worked very closely with Robyn. They made multiple trips to the hotel to make sure rooms were set, the morning after breakfast was booked and that people would be able to get in their rooms to get ready for our 4:30 wedding. The day before the wedding my mother spoke with Robyn again saying she wanted to check in to the hotel room she had reserved for Friday night. We had family members who were coming who wanted to get in that room early Saturday morning to get ready. Robyn said it was not a problem, she was checked in. In the limo to my wedding my mother was on the phone with the hotel 3 different times because they wouldn't let our family in to the room my mom had booked for the night before. It was eventually resolved and they were allowed in. After our wedding everyone came to the hotel ready to relax and continue at the late night bar we reserved. My mother was then told they didn't have a room for her and my father. They said "As you can see we are very busy tonight, we don't have any rooms left." All of the people we could see in the room were from our wedding. At this point all of our guests were changed into comfortable clothes while my mother was still in her dress and my father in his suit. For the next half hour or so, the staff kept saying there wasn't a room available, despite them being told that the mother and the father of bride were without a room, which they had reserved. The hotel manager was extremely rude to both of my parents. The entire situation put a massive damper on what was such an amazing day and night. I have never experienced such horrible customer service in my life. After my parents decided they would just go back home for the night one of our guests was able to talk to another employee and they magically found a room for my parents, after over an hour with this situation ongoing. The next day my parents had a buffet set up for guests staying in the Courtyard. The "Crystal" room was being used by another wedding so our guests used the seating area near the bar. The sign that said our wedding party was so small half of our guests didn't know it was available. They soon ran out of plates, followed by mugs, then coffee and pitchers of water. At this point I started hearing stories from multiple guests about not being able to check in to their rooms. Two of our guests got dressed in their car. The hotel said they couldn't check in even though it was after 3. Other guests got ready in the hotel bathroom. We had also made welcome bags for all of our guests and many of them never received them. People paid a lot of money to stay at the hotel and were severely disappointed. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. The attitude and disrespect of the staff was outrageous. If you are planning a wedding go elsewhere. read more

To Julie S. dated 7/14/2016. I didn't even want to give one star. My first wedding was on 9/20/2014 which was handled by Kerry and went on without a single problem. Since I already had one wedding I wanted the exact same rooms facing the courtyard for my next daughters' wedding on 9/29-30. I called Kerry in January 2016 set it up then she left and Robyn took over. I can't tell you how many times I called and went to the hotel to be sure I was getting the correct rooms. I got an email from Robyn on one occasion and called her regarding it but she never returned my call. Of course, I was assured everything was correct. Rooms 102 and 104 connect and these are the rooms i requested, Now we check in and you guessed it they don't have the correct rooms. I said i want the rooms i booked. They said the 102 room was going to be used by someone else for 9/30-10/1. I asked just when they booked my room they wouldn't tell me. But I saw them going into the room and they said they booked the room about 2 months before. Now I am really furious. They ruined my day...I really had no room for the gowns. Robyn the assistant manager and the general manger would do nothing to help remedy my situation. The assistant manger did offer to find me connecting rooms somewhere else in the hotel. I refused I had booked these rooms early enough and they should bump the people that booked later then me. Now it is the morning of the wedding and the third room I booked is not ready for the bride and groom they had to wait about an hour for there room. I see many reviews on different sites complaining about how they over book. Now lets get to us agreeing to pay $100, to keep the bartender there after the 11PM closing. We arrive about 11:30 PM and there are people at the bar. I go to the General manger and said we paid $100 to keep the bar open for our guest. He replied we changed the hours ( not posted anywhere) and our money was a gratuity. I said, therefore, I want a credit. I have no issue with the rooms or other staff. I found the management incompetent. Robyn and the general manger should be fired. This hotel was great 2 year ago. So is it management or corporate to blame? There will be 3 new hotels going up in Middletown shortly My son is getting married next May this customer will not be staying at the courtyard then or ever again.. read more

I was a guest in this hotel on 3/4/17. Myself and my 2 children and 11 year old cousin went in the hot tub for less than 10 minutes, it was over chlorinated and dirty pubic hair floating in it. My son had a severe asthma attack and I got chemical burns. Brent the GM denied me a incident report so I went to the hospital without one, when I went back to the hotel I was still being denied a proper incident report so I threatened to call the police and magically low and behold they produced the report, myself and children left the hotel that night because of the severe chemical burns and difficulty breathing. I still to this day HAVE NOT recieved a refund, I reached out to BRENT the GM SEVERAL times and have phone records and emails to prove it, nobody called to make sure myself and family were ok NOTHING! read more

I have to say that the staff at the Middletown Courtyard is one of the most courteous, professional and friendly staff. I first started visiting the area 8 years ago and stayed at the Middletown Courtyard. I continued to stay at this location and had my colleagues, as well as vendors, stay at this Courtyard. There are plenty of options in the area, however, the staff is what kept me coming back. Lauren, Cassie, Marlen, just to name a few of the staff that have stood out over the years. There were numerous staff that shared their same enthusiasm. The facilities and accommodations were consistently top notch. The lobby renovations were great. But, it was the staff the kept me coming back. And kept me recommending this facility to others when traveling to the area. read more

Marriott Corporation...this place is ruining your good name! I chose the Marriott vs. the other hotels up there to book my 4 rooms months ago based on their normally great service and reputation. Let me begin by describing my stay over the weekend of Sept 30th .... 1) Arrived at 2:30 (check in is 3). One clerk on duty, (Brent) quite frazzled...people from six wedding parties checking in all at once. (One clerk on a Friday?! At a sold-out hotel?!) 2) I booked my 2 rooms months ago with specific instructions for queen bed rooms, lower floors...was told at check in rooms were on top 2 floors. I agreed to take one of them for my parents (since they said it was ready)...and would wait until check-in time for my room. Went up with my elderly parents...used the key they gave...VOILA! Entered a room that was already taken by people whose luggage and personal items were scattered throughout! Horrifying!! Thank god they were out of the room at the time! (My retired cop dad said he would have shot at somebody barging into his room! Good thing there wasn't a retired cop in there.) Called downstairs...waited in hallway 10 mins for someone to come up and move my folks to another room. Some apologies and lame excuses on a technology 'glitch' but, how could anyone feel safe in a hotel after THAT! Of course, no queen rooms were ready (which they really needed)...but, time's a-ticking for the rehearsal at 5:00...so they took it anyway. 3) Back down to get my promised second room on lower floor (3:15 now); nothing ready...told they were short-handed, be about 15 more minutes. Seriously? After the nonsense we JUST went through? I told Brent we were going across the road for a quick bite...arrived back at 4:00...no room yet! And no Brent!! Where is he, I inquire ? Why, I'm told he's making up rooms...by the new clerk on duty! Did he leave instructions on my new room that I've been waiting for since 2:30?? NO! I need to wait while they figure it out. Page Brent now, I say; she continually pages him to no avail. 4:20 now...rehearsal in 40 mins...need to at least change (forget the damn shower!) I am now starting to totally stress because I literally have NO time to get ready for my event. Finally, get the room at 4:25...had just enough to time to throw in luggage and run out the door for the rehearsal, for which we were late. 4) Day 2...waiting for my other 2 guests to arrive. Day of wedding. Room one goes fine...room 2, no room available yet at 3...3:30....they finally are able to get it closer to 3:45 but hey...the wedding is at 4:30 and is only a 30 min drive away, so what red-blooded, American woman can't get into formal wedding clothes and makeup in 15minutes? My best friend, that's who! 5) And best of all, my parents (who are in their 80s) had to go down to the desk twice to replace keys that weren't working! At least they got some exercise! 6) I'll tell you what, though...something these guys were right on top of....GETTING THE BILL SLID UNDER THAT DOOR! And not one deduction or courtesy compensation for any of this garbage! Thanks, Courtyard for stressing out 6 out of 8 people on a very important weekend! Bravo! read more

Wonderful hotel! We had our wedding block reserved here and stayed here for our wedding weekend. The front desk staff is great, especially Donna and Olivia. The lobby is huge and great for hanging out with family and friends and the rooms are spacious. Would highly recommend this hotel to other brides getting married in the area looking for a place to reserve their wedding block. read more

By all outward appearances, this hotel seems quite new and state of the art. Don't let this fool you. I viewed room availability on my mobile device several minutes prior to checking in, so was well aware of what they did and didn't have. When I got there the front desk clerk behaved as if he didn't know how to use a computer, let alone how to check me in. He also stated he couldn't find a room, which I informed him was strange because I still had the room availability on my mobile. This should have been the first red flag not to stay here. I also specifically requested a non-smoking room because I was with my child. After thirty minutes at the reservations desk, the hotel desk clerk stated he found a non-smoking room, gave me a card key, floor and room number. Everything seemed fine until we were about to go to sleep. All of a sudden I smelled a huge amount of cigarette smoke, which was coming from one of the adjoined rooms. I immediately called the front desk and informed him that I requested a non-smoking room and individual(s) in one of the adjacent rooms were smoking heavily. The front desk person behaved as if he could care less, and reluctantly stated he would send someone to assess the situation (whatever that meant). If it wasn't in the middle of the night, I would have requested a refund and went elsewhere. The smoke smell eventually cleared after turning on the air in our room. Do yourself a favor and stay at a better place, so you can have a clean, smoke free and comfortable hotel stay. read more
