    Stain on the wall

I typically stay at Hilton properties whenever possible and this Hanpton Inn was not even close to the quality and cleanliness I that usually comes with Hilton. Our room was gross. Stains all over the bathroom, someone's old soap in the shower, musty room smell and stains on the couch. After reaching out through the app it took several hours for someone to get back to us and by the time they did, it was too late to even change rooms. This was the worst experience I've had a Hilton ever. I've been an Honors member for years now and I'm surprised at how terrible this Hampton Inn was.

Review for Hampton Inn - Middletown, New York If you're looking for bare minimum service, you've found the place. During my stay, their oven was down--and rather than making any attempt to accommodate guests, they simply said, "Sorry, we can't cook anything." Never mind that there's a microwave sitting right there on the counter. They could've easily grabbed some Jimmy Dean sandwiches or something similar from a local store and provided a simple warm breakfast. But effort isn't part of the equation here. They've clearly cut staffing to the bone, too. I haven't seen a single attendant during breakfast hours. The counters were dirty, trash was on the floor, and--true to form--they were out of coffee. When I voiced my frustration out loud, the front desk clerk, busy grabbing her own bagel, didn't say a word. No apology. No refill. No concern. When I checked in late the night before, I hadn't had dinner and asked politely if I could grab one of the snacks. I was told, "Only two items." I'm a Lifetime Diamond member with Hilton and travel constantly. This location might look nice--don't let the physical plant fool you--but behind the walls, it's a mess. No service. No cleanliness. No hospitality. If you're in the area, I strongly recommend the Courtyard just across the way. It's night and day. This Hampton is an embarrassment to the Hilton brand. They simply don't care about their guests.

    "Clean" towel they gave me

I stayed at this hotel for three weeks. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The pool was green and unusable for the first week and a half. The elevator was out of service for two weeks. The ice machine was initially broken, and once repaired, it dispensed dirty ice. The "free WiFi" was advertised as good enough to check emails, but I couldn't even load my inbox. I ended up having to pay nearly $100 for the so-called "premium WiFi." One day, the cleaning staff nearly got into a fist fight right outside my room. I was given a towel that was supposedly clean but had visible dirt stains and what looked like dried, crusty paint on it. The shower didn't drain properly, which made every shower feel like I was standing in a puddle. On a positive note, the AC in my room worked great--it was like an icebox, which I prefer. The complimentary breakfast was okay, though it lacked variety. I'll keep driving right past this hotel next time.

    Mold on the wall.

We checked into our room and immediately noticed mold on the walls. I went to the front desk to request a new room and showed them the photos. The check-in person apologized and put our family into another room on the floor above. In that room none of the appliances worked (tv, fridge, microwave). I had to move the microwave out of the built in unit to find that the surge protector was turned off. Not a huge deal, but just another inconvenience when all I needed to do was get my kids to bed. Why it was off in the first place is another question. I hope that room gets deep cleaned. I've been a Hilton Honors member for 10+ years and have never seen a property with mold like this in a room. I will not be staying here again.

Stayed here 2 different times. Don't bother with digital key check in they required some type of verification to access the key?? The 1st time I visited was lovely. easy to check in and quick checkout, no issues. My 2nd time visit is the reason why I'm giving this 2 stars. I checked in on the app and when I arrived a room wasn't ready for me yet. there was a wait time for rooms to be cleaned. They are severely understaffed apparently. I heard the cleaning staff going up and down the halls at 9:30 pm ! I think this location is going downhill. I saw they had booked 7 weddings that weekend so I understand they're busy, but if they're short staffed and drowning in the responsibilities then there's something about the business that people don't like working for. High rates of employment turnover is never good. Also, I overheard another guest upset about them being charged a late fee even though they were there an hour prior to check in. They too didn't have a room ready for them so really it wasn't the guests fault that he was late. He shouldn't have been charged the fee. The manager politely gave him the information for her supervisor but I wasn't a fan of how the interaction was handled on guest services end. When I checked out the supposed manager didn't even know how to adjust prices to do the tax exempt form. While I'd love to give this place another chance, I don't know if I can risk it since I travel for business and am on a pretty tight schedule

When it comes time for me to stay in a hotel. The most important thing's for me are. Cleanliness, service, and comfortable beds. Hampton Inn met all of these. The lounge area is spacious. There even is a snack shop where you can purchase items. You can't forget about the breakfast. you have choices of waffles, cereal and other continental breakfast choices as well.

    dirt on couch

I like the set up of the rooms - has a desk, couch, comfortable bed. The size isnt big but suitable. Seems clean on the surface but you do notice little things like stains on the toilet seat or stains/dirt on the couch. maybe housekeeping can do a better job? overall, friendly staff, the ladys name is Tia. My friend locked herself out of her room and literally under a minute, Tia shows up to the rescue. they have microwave, free wifi, coffee, refrigerator, your own thermostat to get the room as warm or cold as youd like, and iron! they also have the best continental breakfast !

Great hotel! Super clean, which these days is huge. Tastefully decorated, comfy bed and linens. It's tech friendly for the business peoples. It's got an outdoor pool that was also pretty clean. I'd come back here in a minute! Thanks for a great stay.

This is what was in my shower at this hotel.

During the 4 days we were here we always had a parking spot close to the entrance. Customer service: the staff were pleasant and usually greeted us when leaving or arriving. We did have an issue with our mini fridge on our 2nd day. It wasn't cold and we only discovered this when returning to our room late at night. Our options were to switch rooms or store our food in the break room fridge. Of course it was too much of an in to pack up all our things and switch rooms. I wish they could've switched the mini fridge with one that worked. The complimentary breakfast was basic but had decent options (make your own pancakes, eggs, meat such as sausage patty, fruits such as apples, bananas, and cereal and oatmeal. The breakfast area was kept clean. There is also a communal microwave which was also kept clean. I do very much appreciate the hot tea and coffee station that they kept filled. You can tell that its staff take great pride in its appearance and management. This hotel is absolutely SPOTLESS. The room when I walked in smelt great when I arrived, and it was very well maintained. No part of my room was dirty, and it felt like no one had ever been in it before. If you've stayed at a Tru by Hilton, you know what to expect amenities wise. If not, the hotel is a trendy modern decorated hotel (appeals to millennial and Gen Zs but great location for all ages) that has an inviting lobby area with foosball tables, televison, free coffee/tea and tons of comfortable group seating. They dont have a pool (sorry for families with kids), but they do have a small by satisfactory fitness center. Near the fitness center they a water bottle refill station, and the front desk has various items that you could forget before leaving. If you have to go here for business, they have private pods in the lobby with outlet strips under the seat so you can do your work with privacy. Otherwise, you can sit at high top tables with usb/outlet strips to charge while enjoying free breakfast. Free breakfast - The breakfast is free, and the options change EVERY day. Which makes it great for kids and budget travelers like me. This hotel offers some sort of egg choice and a protein (they had kielbasa, sausage links, sausage patties, bacon, and more while I was there). They have an automatic pancake maker and other traditional continental breakfast options to satisfy your appetite. Throughout our stay, we asked for additional needs here and there. Whether it was headphones for my work computer, extra garbage bags, or additional blankets. The staff did not give us a hard time, helped us immediately, and did it with a helpful and positive attitude. Due to our extended stay, we had a lot of trash to dispose of. When I brought it to the lobby, a staff member helped me put it in a bin that would hold it or take it for me. The manager (I believe) or the primary person at the front desk in the mornings was the BEST person I've ever interacted with at a hotel. He was pleasant. He was cheerful. And he remembered things you've talked about prior in regards to personal small talk conversations we had. That personal touch that you don't normally receive from any hotel goes a long way, and it really sets your day on a friendly footing. Forgot anything? This hotel is like 2 mins from EVERY major store and 5 mins from the WallKill mall, which my daughter and I went to. In a post COVID world, the WallKill mall is one of the best I've visited in the New England/NY area. There is also a Walmart and Target nearby, too. This place is an absolute treasure to stay at. The prices were extremely good (not far from LegoLand), and it has everything you need from a hotel. Plus, the staff make you feel like you're visiting your favorite local restaurant or store. Come here if you are looking to enjoy an amazing stay on a budget.
