    Room looking out

In the area for an event, but didn't want to pay Annapolis hotel prices :( Found this newly/still being renovated hotel about 30 minutes away at a very fair price. Arrived exactly at 3pm check-in on a Friday with no problems requesting and getting an exterior room on ground floor near a side entrance ... which was actually right off the main lobby area next to conference rooms and small fitness room. Updates to the room included new carpets, fresh paint/grouting, and soft goods like bedding/curtains. The huge 55+ inch tv and pull-out sofa also looked pretty new. However, there were still some minor signs of wear such as the cabinet holding the fridge/drawers and some power outlets. But we encountered some noticeable oddities/annoyances during our stay ... such as weird noises throughout the entire night, people talking all around us via the extremely thin walls, an overly too soft/creaking bed which resulted in restless sleep for both of us where we woke with back/neck pains, the unusual/original/inoperable patio slider that led to nowhere, and the constant static only on tv channel ABC which sounded extraterrestrial. Otherwise, the staff was super friendly and we might consider returning again ... though maybe not days from Halloween like this time?!?

The rooms are cute. I was pleasantly surprised by the food to be honest. It was almost gourmet like and decent sized portions. They're very understaffed which causes delays but overall it wasn't a bad experience. Check in was the worse because the same gentleman running the bar was handling checks in. We arrived at 10:30 at night and didn't get to our room until almost 11:15. Check out was a breeze however.

Stayed here 2 nights. Average price for area. Area is a professional area. Restaurant and other attractions area driving distance. The area seems safe and is clean. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff has been professional and polite. I love the larger TV. Bed and pillows are very nice. I have stayed here before and will return.

Top notch SERVICE and Hotel Stay by Courtyard by Marriott! Our 2 night stay for our Tour of Washington D.C. was complemented by our stay at Courtyard Marriott. The Hotel exceeded our expectations by first and foremost Service provided by the Staff. Hotel keys ready upon our arrival, designated UP FRONT parking for both motor coaches , enough staff at the time of arrival for the hustle and bustle of settling in for the evenings, breakfast ready ON TIME, A SERVER at breakfast ( attention to detail), the staff servicing us did not have to leave their post for any reason, not even to replenishment, many options for breakfast as you can see in my photos(expectations) beds offered comfy and peaceful night's sleep, although my room was on the same floor as the kids, once they jumped on their beds and felt the pillow it hypnotized them to lay down and rejuvenate their bodies . The area is newly developed as well as the Hotel, all in all Marriott took over and offered what's expected of a Marriot branded Hotel. I heard NO side disapproval comments from the kids nor adults, we went back for seconds, thirds and fourths and again more than enough. This Courtyard by Marriott is a GREAT stay for Tour Groups and Family Reunions. Would I use my own money for a stay here? Absolutely!!

Not sure what this patch was supposed to cover. Next time matching paint colors would help.

This Courtyard is old and worn. I'm giving it two stars for the friendly front desk people. Getting to the room was a maze. It would have been helpful to have bread crumbs to know how to get back to the lobby but we used the trash and pizza crust as landmarks. We encountered three parties of lost people as we tried to find the bistro. Maps along the hallway did not contain the "you are here dots". The rooms need an overhaul. The walls were patched but not by a professional. The marble threshold leading to the bathroom has a huge chip making it a tripping hazard. Bistro food was hot and flavorful.

A mostly quiet property where we stayed for a Redskins game and as an operations base for going into DC on the Metro. Standard Courtyard setup with paid breakfast and a fancy lobby area. It's not quite as close to the Fedex Field as I thought it was, but that seemed to work out okay. The hotel shuttle doesn't go to the game, but they do have a deal with a local limo service. For us, $15 a person. Good deal. The hotel shuttle *does* go to the Metro station, which is also an Amtrak and Greyhound station. We did put a do not disturb on the door when we went out, but they did the room anyway. Maybe someone stole our sign?

From the moment we arrived, her demeanor was cold, hostile, and incredibly unwelcoming. She repeatedly gave my family unfriendly, glaring looks that made us uncomfortable, to the point that we just wanted to leave the hotel. Her attitude only worsened the situation. She was consistently rude, dismissive, and unprofessional in every interaction. To make matters worse, we were overcharged by her, and it did not feel like an honest mistake. The only reason it was corrected is because I caught it and confronted her directly. Had I not said anything, I strongly believe the issue would have gone unresolved. Because of Joyce's behavior, what should have been a comfortable stay turned into a tense and unpleasant experience for my entire family. Guests should feel welcomed, respected, and valued, especially by front desk staff, who represent the first impression of the business. Unfortunately, Joyce's manner was the exact opposite. We felt dismissed, disrespected, and completely unwelcome throughout our stay. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this hotel. If you're looking for a more professional and welcoming environment, I strongly suggest considering nearby options like DoubleTree by Hilton, Homewood Suites by Hilton, or WoodSpring Suites instead. Management should take feedback seriously and address it immediately, as this level of treatment is unacceptable and reflects very poorly on this establishment.

The hotel is older and claimed to have renovated their rooms, so we were convinced this would be a good spot. Let's start with the pros: There is a bunch of parking our front. The staff was friendly. The restaurant in lobby was good, and we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. Shoutout to the bartender David for his excellent service & kindness. The hotel is located across the street from Woodmore Towncenter, so you have gas stations, restaurants, and shopping nearby. Some room for improvement: The room we were initially given was absolutely horrendous. It looked nothing like the photos we saw when we booked the room. There were lady bugs, stink bugs, and I saw a spider in the room. The furniture was archaic & not what I expected. The TV was hanging off of the frame. I felt myself looking around the room fearful that a bug was going to suspend from the ceiling, fall on me and start crawling. After one night, my husband requested a new room, and thank goodness they gave us a freshly renovated room. The room was still a little dated, but it just felt clean and comfortable. I was able to enjoy my stay after the switch. For context, I posted photos of the new room they gave us. The elevator is extremely slow, so I hope they are working on fixing that. If we didnt have the mishap with the first room, (for the price) I would give our stay a 4/5.

I said to myself "it has to get better...just go and check in". I go to the front desk and was met with attitude and no hospitality. He greets me with a tight "what tf are you doing here" face so I GREETED HIM to try and break the ice. Before the check in process, I explained that my little sister unexpectedly decided to stay with me, and is there any way my room can be changed from a king bed to a double. "Tight face" says "yes for a $50 upgrade fee". I was confused so I asked why was there an upgrade fee when the rooms on every website INCLUDING DOUBLETREE was the same price. He says "when I push the button it says $50 " and then suggested I call Expedia. I call Expedia and explained the situation and the rep says "wait no, that should be an easy transfer...let me see if I can do it on my end." She was unable to and put me on hold to call the front desk to see why I would be charged extra if the rooms were the same, and she got the same energy, attitude and answer from the front desk "when I push the button it says $50 ." We're now at 30 minutes of dealing with this room so I said "you know what...forget it, I'll keep the room I booked, please just check me in" ( anything to get away from this smell) We began the check in process and I asked how much the deposit is for my room...I was told $250, but then I'm given forms to sign, one of which states that my deposit would be the amount of the tax on the room + $50 for the deposit. I asked the other front desk rep, let's call him IDK, (because I don't know was literally the only answer he could provide) why was there a difference in the price of the deposit I was quoted and what I'm being asked to sign. His answer...y'all already know....I don't know. Hey...it's 2026, and scammers have jobs too, so I asked to see ANYTHING that has their current deposit amount on it and he of course said "I don't know where anything is at the desk, but it's on all the external booking sites. Ok great, so I pull up Expedia, Booking and Hotels...nothing about a deposit there, so I asked "is there anywhere else I can look?" and "tight face" says under his breath "let me get a manager ". "I don't know" wasn't being yelled at, he didn't look agitated or uneasy...there were no voices raised, and he was actually trying to explains the policy to me, so why someone who wasn't involved in our transaction felt the need to call a manager...I don't know. I ended up letting him know that I wouldn't be initially that one section about the deposit, since they couldn't show me the new policy and paid. I get to the room...the elevators open and the smell along with plastic tarps hits me...of course I booked for relaxation and got the "under construction" floor, but I keep going to the room and let's just say the furniture and walls looked to have been in a gang fight (that it lost) with the amount of nicks, dings, and scratches on every surface (the bathroom was nice). The furniture was outdated and covered in stains, but there was no way in hell I was going back to that front desk so I just decided to only sit on the bed. I get ready and leave, and while I'm gone my sister (who was at the desk at check in with me) comes down to get a water. Their tap wasn't working so she asked them to charge it to the room. Again she was met with attitude and "tight face" interrogated my sister before agreeing to charge the $3 water to the room. We get back to the room at 4am and I stop off at the front desk to ask for a late check out...and I was told...you guessed it "no". In the morning check out was at 11, and not one but 2 hotel staff knocked on the door 45 minutes early to throw us out...which I was more than happy to leave. I will never and I mean NEVER visit another Doubletree again...hey Paris, Nicki and the rest of y'all Hiltons...get this shit together!

After three days, at the time of checkout, I was suddenly stopped by staff and treated as though I had done something wrong, despite the oversight being entirely on their end. I was then asked to place my card on hold for incidentals on the day of checkout, rather than at check-in. Weeks later, I discovered that $596.81 was charged to my card, even though the entire stay had already been paid for using Marriott points.
