This place may be overlooked since it's in next to restaurants with more noticeable signs but it shouldn't be! The sandwich was pretty good, may have needed a little more flavor but was good nevertheless. The chicken shawarma platter was amazing though and let me tell you, you're gonna have to fight hard to finish it all since there's so much AND at a very fair price. Not sure if it was complementary or if it came with the meal, but the server brought over a large piece of naan bread with sauces which was unexpected but a pleasant surprise. Obsessed is an understatement, this place really wowed me with the quality of their kabob and the sheer amount of food for the price. It's non pretentious store front may scare you but you know it's good because there is always someone inside eating. We went for delivery and we were not disappointed. We tried the chicken kabob, chicken kofta, and the beef kabob with the sides of potatoes and eggplant. The chicken kabob was the best I have ever tried, flavor and cooked wise- the meat melted in your mouth. The chicken kofta had great flavor too but the chicken kabob was the star. They give so much rice that you could have enough rice for days. I loved the side dips and bread (though it goes stale by day 2 if you don't gobble it all down day 1). You can truly tell that Courthouse Kabob places an emphasis on high quality, delicious food and amazing service. On my way back from running errands, it dawned on me that I have not eaten here in a few weeks. I placed an order and arrived at the restaurant around the time I was set to pick up my order. My order was almost ready and an employee offered me a free beverage while I waited. Enlightened by the free drink, I found that this rather unassuming restaurant was bustling at 8:30 in the evening with a mix of locals, large families and endless to-go orders. They even forced a free dessert on me for my wait, which I gladly accepted. Let's be honest here. My food was ready quickly after I arrived, so no complaints at all about the wait. By this point, I need to convince you, my reader, that, in no way, shape or form, am I being paid or compelled to write this review and leave 5/5 stars. It was my intention to leave a larger tip, but in the day and age, I do not hold small bills. So I hope this review suffices. Every meal I have eaten here is fresh, flavorful and delicious. The only item that did not blow me away was the fries. However, if you look at their menu, their endless options of traditional dishes, and you decide to buy fries, that is your problem entirely. The baklava was perfect and a great after-dinner treat, and while it was my first time eating bolani, I thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be ordering it again. This is a casual kabob establishment. You go to the counter and order what you want, and then can seat yourself indoor or outdoor. We got the combo for 4, with chickpeas and tabbouli salad as the sides. We got baklava as well. Everything was phenomenal. Without exception, all the meat was wonderfully flavorful and tender. Many kabob places have overcooked or tough meat, but not here. The tabbouli salad and chickpeas were both so perfect. You'll frequently find me eating a massive plate in my sweatpants, in a small kabob shop with only a few tables, tiny menu, sometimes plastic tablecloths, very very happy. ⁠ ⁠ My standards for what I consider to be good kabob shops are simple: solid lunch or dinner specials so you get great value for your dollar, fresh hot bread, well seasoned kabob, and clean bathrooms. Usually I find places that meet two or three of my four criteria, but rarely all. ⁠ ⁠ Thankfully this spot hits all four. The lunch specials are a great deal, the bread hot and delicious, the staff super friendly, and the bathrooms clean! Most importantly, the kabobs are so well seasoned that you can literally see the spices in the photos and videos I took. Take out some of the rice or give the customer another side choice. Chicken was in a long link, not separate pieces and very dry.... now I know why hot sauce was on the tables since I had to continuously put hot sauce on the chicken to make it palatable. Beef was lamb and was also dry. Also in a long link. The meats were below average and just seemed very dry. The Naan bread was awful as well. Mostly burnt and hard.... had to dunk it in white sauce and still not very flavorful. Many other good spots in Arlington for Kabobs, this place just misses the mark. read more

This is my favorite establishment in all of DC. I come here at least once a week to get lunch or dinner and it's always the highlight. The portions are huge and so fulfilling, the flavors are authentic and so simple yet so flavorful. Their Chapli kebab is some of the most authentic I have had outside of the Afghanistan/Pakistan region. Their sides are amazing and their sauces are the ribbon on top. I typically go for the lamb kabob skewer which comes with rice and sliced onion. The lamb is very tender and pairs well with the rice. The chicken kofta skewers are great as well. I believe there are three criteria that any good Kabob restaurant must meet. I am happy to say that Courthouse Kabob checks all three boxes and therefore will enter my rotation of takeout restaurants. 1. Speed. I placed my takeout order online at 6:33 PM. I was quoted a pickup time of 6:47. I arrived at 6:45 and my food was already bagged and waiting. Probably spent less than 60 total seconds inside the restaurant, which is exactly what I wanted. 2. Portions. I ordered the chicken shawarma platter and what I received was absolutely humongous. Heaps of meat over a large bed of rice, my choice of one of six sides (went for the potato stew, which was really good), and a piece of naan that must've been at least a foot long. This was enough food for dinner and next day's lunch. Not a bad deal for 14 bucks. 3. Meat quality. I was especially impressed by the heavy seasoning on the chicken. Kabob places often err on the side of blandness, but not Courthouse Kabob. The meat also felt surprisingly light for a cuisine that often feels like a ball of grease in your stomach. Courthouse Kabob loses one star because the naan, although giant, was well below average. It was just bland; I gladly would've paid an extra dollar for garlic or buttered naan, but those options weren't available. But even so, I'd still recommend this place. read more
