Courtesy Plumbing's license's in both Colorado Springs and Sedalia are expired and there is a cease and desist order. Plus, Frankie Vargas the GM stated to my wife and I that he is a Master Plumber, yet he is only a Plumbing Apprentice per DORA's website. Why all the lies? Our toilet wasn't completely flushing and it was a Saturday. Of course, we tried the regular things you do yourself however, we figured out this was not the normal backed up toilet. We called Courtesy Plumbing and from the very first contact, we were treated professionally and friendly. Within 70 minutes, Billy was dispatched to our home. While it didn't take long for him to fix the situation, it was the right thing to call in professionals. Billy explained to us the situation and what our options were in a way that we understood. He took care of the problem, explained what would need to happen if it the pipes got backed up again and left without making a mess. If we need a plumbing company again, we will not hesitate to call Courtesy Plumbing again. read more

His water heater blew up so we needed to get a new one. Called the company and Ryan came by to give us an estimate. He was available to install the next day so an appointment was made. A period of time was given for arrival and I waited for them. They texted him to let him know they anticipated being there at noon. When they arrived, we briefly discussed what was to be done. Then I left them to it. They were careful not to leave the front door open as we have cats. And watched the door frame as they moved the equipment in and out. It took approximately two hours to complete the job. When he was done, Ryan came to get me and showed me the work. I had to write things down as I couldn't remember the different parts. The installation was done neatly and I appreciated that. Would call them again and they do equipment checks and services. Associates were friendly and professional. Ryan was funny too. read more

Used to be 5 stars and returning customer, now 1 star and won't be using this place again. We had a new sink installed back in November of 2022. They asked where our water shut off was and I directed them to the garage next to our water heater. The tech said that he couldn't see it, so then I showed up where our sprinkler water shut off was. He took a look, turned on the knobs, tested the water, then said that wasn't it either. I reassured him it was in the water heater closet which he then found exactly where I originally told him. Fast forward to today as we turned on our sprinklers for the summer and our entire system was broken. This was due to the water being turned on carelessly during our visit. We are now paying $3,000 for our entire system to be fixed. Absolutely unacceptable that this was a careless mistake made by the Courtesy team after we had our sprinkler winterized. read more

Get this: 85 year old mother-in-law spends $200 for their "Silver" package after a water value repair job (which admittedly was well done). That purchase entitled her to a free assessment of her furnace and water heater, something she forgot about until they called to remind her. Very considerate, given its early October and those systems will start to be used. They come out with 2 techs, who scare the crap out of her saying her furnace is pumping out 116 ppm CO (super-dangerous!) and her water heater needs to be replaced as well. $10K. 85 years old, lives alone by herself... She doesn't know what to do. She's scared. They tell her they're going to have to turn off her furnace until they can fix it, and it needs fixing RIGHT NOW. Fortunately, my wife and I arrive. What's wrong with the water heater? Turns out, nothing, its just 10 years old and *could* fail at any moment. Show me the CO readings. They hang their sensor over the heat vent (we're in the basement), and it runs for 15 min. Sensor says 63ppm. Weird - why the diff? Dunno, but there's a crack in the heat exchanger for sure. And rust. Huh. We're in dry Colorado, not Florida. Plus, this furnace is only a few years old, installed in 2017. By now the tech supervisor has arrived, so what would have been 3-on-1 bullying of an 85 year old is at least 3-2 (wife not there yet). I tell them to give us an estimate and we'll get back to them. Its too dangerous, they say, and cannot legally leave unless they shut off the furnace, which is complete BS. They don't turn off the furnace, but instead turn off the gas. We have the local utility come out (Excel). Tech inspects everything - ZERO CO detected anywhere - they system is working just fine. These guys should be ashamed of themselves. read more

AWFUL AWFUL BUSINESS! SCAMMERS DO NOT EVER USE THESE PEOPLE! They came out and did multiple jobs and screwed up every single one of them! We had to have the owner come out to fix the problem and he found OLD problems that his guys had screwed up before that had he not come out would have cost THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN REPAIR. We were then given a ZERO DOLLAR INVOICE and said he was so sorry everything was down wrong. Next thing I know we have collections threatening us. We call the company and tell them that we had a conversation with Tom when he said we had a zero dollar invoice and they are now claiming that Tom never said this. These people are LIARS AND SCAMMERS! Not professionals at all and don't know what the hell they are doing. If they screwed up every job we had then I can't imagine how many jobs these incompetent people have screwed up for other people. GO ELSEWHERE!!! read more

Tech pulled a cartridge that had debris, mentioned the price if he only had to remove the debris and reinstall, which would have been $100 for his expertise. Instead, had to replace with a $50 part and price increased to $300. Tech had no reasonable explanation. Disputing charges. Would avoid this company at all cost. read more

I agree with others here. They performed an inspection and claimed CO leakage from an old, starting to fail heart exchanger. Said I should replace the unit at $6-14K. I told them I would think about it. After that, system would not even come on. They came back, claimed the entire motherboard had failed (quite by coincidence, of course). Better to replace the whole unit, they said. Later that day another local company came out. Had it up and running in 2 minutes. Could not find any problem requiring panic or immediate replacement. Suggested cleaning the coils, etc, stuff an old unit like mine needs from time to time. Cost--$59, Crooks! read more

Extremely overpriced. Crook prices. The price for the job was way overpriced but wife wanted it done ASAP. Installed new faucet and fixed P-trap came in at $925. Looking at the parts online including faucet model everything would come in under $200. That means labor to install a new faucet and p-trap is $700. Job took about 1.5 hours. Next time I'll save the money and deal with the wife's wrath for a better deal. They also charge $75 just to give a quote, which is probably part of their racket of trying to get away with charging such outrageous prices. I won't be using them again and definitely will not recommend. read more

Apparently this company has been recently changed management or purchased by another. This comment is on the new management for Courtesy Plumbing & Heating. Called this company to come out when my A/C quit working. The individual came out and immediately charged a $90 diagnostic fee, which is odd as most places I know would not initiate such a charge until it is determined if the owner will pay for repairs (often the diagnostic fee is waved if you pay for repairs), which was why I called them out to begin with. When done, the technician Luis W. said that the OEM control board needed replacement and provided me with an estimate of $1,170.66 cost for just the control board alone. I asked about this extraordinary cost for a furnace that was just barely over a year old and the technician replied that it is normal to charge that for an OEM control board. The scam was exposed when I forwarded the information to my home warranty company who wanted to know why a control board that sells for $120 on the manufacturer website had a nearly $1000 dollar markup. According to the home warranty company, they couldn't provide an explanation and got uncomfortable with the questions and said that they didn't really want the job anyways. Keep in mind that the control board was very easily accessible and very easily replaced, there would be no need for extensive labor to replace it, so it is very odd that they would not 'want the job'. I contacted the manager directly the same day also asking for an explanation. He too seemed very uncomfortable with the questions and simply said that he had just heard of it and would contact me when he learns more. I have not received a return call. A couple of days later, I had another technician check out the A/C to which he had it repaired in less than 5 minutes by replacing the low voltage fuse on the control board. The cost of the fuse was $1.00 I asked the technician why the fuse went out and he pointed to some shoddy connection points between the thermostat and controller. The same ones that Courtesy Plumbing did when they installed the A/C to begin with. He said that the likely cause was that one of the loose points probably touched the metal frame. read more

I have to say, I was a wreck when my toilet leaked through to our kitchen. I called a remediation company who referred Courtesy Plumbing. Not only were they prompt in getting to my house, they told me exactly what they were doing and showed me why it leaked. When I initially called, the dispatcher was very sympathetic to my situation, and Quincy and crew were ALSO very sympathetic & understanding. Bottom line, they did a great job! These crooks have quite a racket going on, they charge $75 to come out and give a quote. Then they send out a "plumber" in a t-shirt and driving a station wagon that is unable to give a quote without his "boss" looking at the job. They then expect you to wait an hour or two for the "boss" to show up, but in the meantime you have no water in your house. The boss never shows and 6 weeks later I get a demand by email that I pay the $75 quote charge or they will put a lien on my property. Pathetic scum bags. RUN from these crooks! read more

Courtesy Plumbing and Heating came to my house a few weeks ago to replace a toilet supply valve that was not working properly. They charged me $280 to replace the valve. The person who showed up to do the job did not have shoe covers on so I asked if he could put those on because my floors were new. He went down to his truck to get them then put them on. So I was working in my home office and several minutes later came to down to check on how the job was going as it was an easy job. Basically consisted of turning off water supply to house by furnace then replacing valve by toilet. There was a cup full of dark brown liquid on my new floors by the toilet so I asked the plumber if he was chewing tobacco in my house and he said he was. I told him I do not allow that in my house. I had scheduled a water heater replacement job with Courtesy and called to cancel that job with their customer service people. The manager called me and said chewing tobacco on the job was not allowed and they would retrain the person who did that. I found a much better price with another company and they installed a 9yr. water heater for much cheaper than Courtesy's 6 year water heater. They were very respectful, courteous, and neat and did an excellent job including new plumbing to the water heater, new expansion tank, etc. for hundreds less. They were the first company that was able to come out to my house for a leak that we were having. My normal plumber was busy that day. They arrived on time and were friendly, but that is the where the positives end. The costs were outrageous and I still have the same leak with a hole in my ceiling. I called back twice and left voice messages. The company did not return my call. I chose this company because of the ratings, but they are probably mock ratings and do not account for the lack of clarity in their pricing, technical abilities to fully troubleshoot an issue or customer service follow up. read more

Two guys came out in the middle of the COVID situation with masks and fixed the issue with the leak. The problem is they charged me 800 bucks for a 150 dollar part that took less than 10 minutes to install! Just like every other business now passing the costs of the pandemic on to the customers and shafting them to stay in business. What a mess. I had a service call scheduled for 7/11 for a pipe leak for cold water inlet to my tankless heater. The service provider arrived on time, he looked at it and was confused about the source of the leak. He had noted the leak was from the copper pipping leading to the tankless water heater, however I had to tell him that the leak was from the flex tubing. The water was leaking and trickling down to the copper piping. The plumber had incorrectly assumed the source of the leak. Basic and fundamental mistake. He said he needs to get parts and would be back in a few minutes shortly. He did not return for more than hour and a half! No courtesy call, we just waited. He explained that he had to go far to get the copper pipe and the cost of the repair would be $395. My intuition told me he did not seem competent as he wasn't able to correctly identify the leak . I declined the service. I called their office and spoke to the customer service representative, Tiffany, regarding the competence of the plumber, she said she would discuss with the manager and get back to me. After a day of waiting, I did not hear from her. I just get an email with an invoice of $75 for plumber visit. I would strongly recommend not using this company as they are incompetent and have terrible unresponsive customer service. I was able to get a local plumber who resolved the issue immediately for parts and labor of $160. An expensive copper pipe was not required, a flex pipe did the job . I would strongly recommend not using this Company based on my direct personal experience with their incompetence and customer service. read more

I am so happy with Courtesy Plumbing and Heating. Our furnace broke down late on a Sunday night. They came out and fixed it for us. He gave us a good deal and really knew what he was doing. We had a different company come out earlier who gave us a quote twice as much without actually telling us what was wrong. Doug Williams was the guy who came. He was so kind and made time to come out late on a Sunday so we would have heat! He took time to explain everything and really show us what our options were. I used Courtesy Plumbing to fix our home inspection corrections. I would recommend Courtesy Plumbing to anyone. I first called Applewood plumbing and they came out and quoted me four times more than Courtesy and charged me a fee. Whatever you do, do not use Applewood. They are terrible and only care about selling you new stuff without looking into fixing what's broke. After calling numerous plumbers, Courtesy was the only plumbing company to give me a quote over the phone. Doug the technician was professional, honest and did an awesome job. They did fix my furnace but at a inflated rate. When I challenged them, they said they would match any reasonable offer. I got quotes from 2 independent companies for approx. $150 less than the bill. I asked for the $150 difference in a refund. No calls back. The technician (J.R.) did finally did call back with an attitude I told him I talked to Tom. the owner and HE suggested I call other firms to see if I got over-charged. I did exactly that and it looks like I did!! Still no settlement on the inflated bill. They charged me about $300 for 1/2 hour of work. That is excessive. Sorry. I'm in the service industry also and we charge $150 per hour. We use $100K worth of equipment (Land Surveying) and our time and trucks. Our pilot light went out on our hot water heater while we were on vacation. Courtesy Plumbing was able to come out right away and take a look at the unit. They lit the piolot light and charged us a $50 service fee. The pilot light has continued to just go out. My husband lit the unit as Courtesy showed him but the unit will not hold the light. We called again one month later and explained that the problem was not corrected by the initial visit and we needed them to come back out and take a look. They explained that there would be another $50 service fee as there is no warranty on lighting a pilot light. WHAT? You did not fix the problem to begin with. In other words we are going to come out once a month light the pilot light and charge you $50. I think not. read more
