There was also a leak from my air resonator which they didn't mention and quoted me $500 just for the air box and hose. Not including labor. I purchased my used truck at Taylor's auto max, and was told to be sure to bring it to the attached…read morerepair facility for service. I brought it in for a problem with how the engine was running, and they did a tune up, and replaced the spark plug wires, and put in a new battery. That did not fix the problem. I went to another shop, which replaced the spark plug cables with quality cables with the correct capacity, and replaced the fuel filter, which fixed the problem. A few years later the battery failed. I went to a different shop (since Taylor's has proven ineffectual in my experience), which tested the battery for free,. The test was done while I waited. They said it was bad. I then looked at the original receipt and realized that the battery was installed by Taylors, and was still under warranty. I called Taylors, and they said I'd have to bring it in another day. I pleaded, since I live 60 miles away, and rarely bring the pick up to town. They relented and said they'd test it, but it would take two hours. I waited for three hours, and was told that there is nothing wrong with the battery. They then CHARGED ME $30 for telling me that they would not honor the warranty. I protested, and they said I couldn't have my truck back unless I paid. The service writer was unkind, unhelpful, sneering and unwilling to listen or understand my perspective. I spoke with the battery manufacturer, who said that they would replace the battery for free - honor the warranty - and give me permission to take it to a different retail outlet.

There was a down payment and a warranty added to the paperwork I was not expecting, nor had it been discussed with me. I was told they sold me the vehicle for $400 over cost. This was apparently not true because less than a month later when I decided to trade it in they said they couldn't help me because I owed thousands more than it was worth.
