Why I did not use Bassing, I don't know, we had used them in the past and they were great. So I called them regarding our new problems. Well, they came to look at the new problems. The electrician could not believe what a mess was created. So he fixed the whole system and took pictures to show the previous mess created. So we highly recommend Bassing Electric. Ask for Curt, he was wonderful and knew his stuff. He may have saved our lives since the other electrician left live wires in the attic. Thank you Curt, Thank you Bassing Electric.

When I used the Yelp Request-A-Quote function to reach out to a few electricians, Steven and his wife were incredibly responsive, and his quote was the most reasonable. We got him in the house right away, and we are so grateful he committed to a multi-week job. I asked him, "Do you have a lot of experience working on old 100+ year old homes?" and he reassured me that he's from England and has "worked on 400 year old homes"! We gave him direction and provided light fixtures and specific switches (LED dimmers) that we wanted, and then he went to town. We figured a ton of issues would come up with the old plaster, the old wiring, the logistics of the old home... but nope, he seemed to work around everything seamlessly. He only had to make a couple holes in the plaster, and he referred someone who patched them up real quick n nice. Steven made some suggestions throughout the process too, like better places to move the switches and outlets (no extra charge), which we were grateful for. He also updated our entire breaker panel which somehow had water damage and was barely to code, phew! The entire time, he was very communicative between calls and texts. We've been doing some other work on the house and it seems we run into snags with every simple little update. But I'm so thrilled that the biggest job of rewiring the whole dang house was such a cinch. I can't recommend Steven and Atlantic Electric enough!

They arrived on time (both when providing the estimate and the installation) and when they were done 5 hours later, other than having new units in place you wouldn't have know they were even there as they cleaned up everything they removed along with any debris/dust that was created. Really love the fact that they have their own master electrician so you aren't relying on a contractor. After installation was complete, Jim, who was the sales rep we worked with came back and inspected everything to make sure it was done to our satisfaction. I'm writing this review as a strong warning--do not hire Superior Heating & Air under any…read morecircumstances. We had worked with Superior for years without issues under the old ownership. But under new management, the company has completely fallen apart. We hired them to handle HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work for our basement finish, and the experience was an absolute nightmare. Here are just a few examples: 1. Multiple Failed Electrical Inspections Superior failed their electrical inspection twice. After the second failure, they tried to claim it "wasn't in the scope of their work" to correct the violations--thankfully, the electric inspector disagreed. 2. No Hot Water for an Entire Weekend During a Friday afternoon electrical job, they cut power to our water heater and left without checking their work. We had no hot water for the entire winter weekend. Best part - zero apologies. 3. Lazy, Substandard Workmanship We paid them to move a toilet rough-in. They poured the concrete back unevenly, leaving us unable to lay flooring without additional work. When I asked them to fix it, their response was: "We're not flooring guys--we don't have to lay cement flat." 4. Shower Door Bait-and-Switch They agreed to install our shower door and confirmed the model I texted them in December. Then in April, after the return window had closed, they backed out--refusing to install it and refusing to credit us for the work we had to outsource. 5. Lighting Errors and Surprise Charges At the start of the project, I showed the electrician exactly where I wanted lighting--he raised no concerns. During an electric inspection, we found that seven requested lights were never installed. When I raised the issue, Chris gave me a hand-drawn floor plan I'd never seen before, which didn't even match our actual basement layout, and claimed that's what the quote was based on. Then they billed us over $1,000 for the "extra" lights. When I pushed back, Chris shrugged it off with: "Well, someone should have shown this to you." 6. Suspicious, Incentivized Reviews Since the ownership change, Superior has been offering $25 gift cards in exchange for 5-star reviews. This should be a red flag if nothing else--trustworthy companies don't need to buy praise. And sadly, these are just the highlights. There were many more problems I didn't bother listing. Bottom line: this company is incompetent, dishonest, and completely unaccountable. Save yourself the stress--stay far away.

It's a small team of very professional and friendly people who know what they're doing and do it quickly and efficiently. I still contact other companies for estimates to compare, as I always do when contracting work on my home, but American comes in well under every time. This past week they were out here running an extremely long conduit to wire a hot tub, and while at it they wired our new sauna as well. We even had an issue where we needed to get the tub's breakers from our old house to install here, and John sent another electrician over to do that immediately. I'd had another well-rated company come out for an estimate and they quoted $6,500 just for the hot tub. American did that plus the sauna plus getting those parts from across town for less than half that and got it done in half a day.
