Bleu cheese burger! - A person is holding a cheeseburger with beef patties, cheese, and toppings, with a plate of fries and pickles in the background.

The service was great! Highly recommend. I had the bleu cheese burger and my boyfriend had the meatloaf. Very good.

Had a few hours between jobs. Parked here and decided to have lunch. Hubby ordered breakfast. I had the Salad Bar and ordered a side of grilled chicken. Salad Bar was fresh. Our food came out hot. Our server was pleasant and kept are drinks filled. We did some laundry after lunch. While waiting, we went back for coffee and dessert. We ordered a piece of peanut butter pie and a piece of Cheesecake Factory red velvet cheesecake. If you love red velvet and cheesecake, you have to have this. I've had it before. It's one of my top three favorite desserts. Coffee was hot and a perfect way to spend some time while waiting. Again, service was good. Very personable staff!

Pot roast, fries, pancakes - A plate of food includes green beans, garlic bread, and a beef patty with gravy, alongside a side of crinkle-cut fries on a separate white dish.

It's Friday morning. Business hrs are 6am-11-pm. It's 6:10 am and doors are locked. So why post hrs if not going to amend to them.,

    El Cascabel - Enchiladas

The location is pretty cool - outside is very pretty to walk by and see and inside, and outside really, you see the trains go by directly next to it! That in itself already gave a cool ambiance. They played great music upon walking - Spanish station perhaps, but we loved it and as soon as we walked in were greeted with big smiles. It's a pretty big restaurant with a lot of room! An extensive menu also, we ended up with enchiladas, cheese crisp, and a chicken dish. They brought out some chips and salsa ahead of our meal, for the table, and that was lovely. Chips were warm but didn't seem super fresh although were still great. The salsa was quite mild but wouldn't expect different in the heartland. The service was wonderful and our server was attentive. As for the flavor of enchiladas - very good. Cheesy and delicious. The chicken was good, but being so close to Mexico coming from southern AZ we have pretty authentic close to native flavors. The seasoning was ok and the rice and beans that it came with were also alright. We were largely impressed with the service and structure more than anything. I was really happy with the michelada - such a staple for my meals when having Mexican so it was perfect!! We enjoyed overall and recommend. We may have to try others to have a better fair ranking of Mexican in Grinnell. But it's worth a try!

It was busy but not so much that we didn't get sat right away. Our server was also busy so someone else took our drink order - and then gave us menus. We ended up ordering the meatballs, a salad, and a classic pie, and walked out also with a cool vintage looking Pagliai's tee! The meatballs were large, came with two, and really flavorful. The sauce was classic tomato but not basic, you could taste the aromatics and that was so good. Basic salad but really delicious runny ranch to go with it, which I loved. I dipped the crust from my pizza in it and it was just so good! For the pie we split it in half - half with meats and the other half with special. The crust was thin and also seasoned nicely and couldn't say enough about how delicious the cheese was. It was so gooey and thick - it made the pizza so incredibly good. Besides our server taking us on due to the prior one being too busy, the vibes inside were chill and casual, music was good and the atmosphere was pleasant. Everyone behind the pizza counter had smiles and acknowledged you. Was a real delight. Everywhere in Grinnell folks rave about Pagliai's and we understand why. We'll definitely have to come back!

It was light and tasty and a great way to end the meal.

Our experience was the very definition of adventure. We drive up to an industrial building with little signage. As we drove around back we saw a "trucks only" sign. We pulled back around front unsure it was a restaurant, a truck stop catering to a specific community, or a mob front. Since I had my son and his girlfriend with me and could not let them down, I pulled my shoulders back, head high, and ready to do battle with whatever I was to face. What I was to face was an easy to read, very descriptive, menu board which made every dish sound enticing. The cashier/server was very nice, answered questions, and made sure to ask what heat level we wanted. Side note: the girlfriend said "Indian hot" and she chowed down. She earned a gold star for that one. Even my son who "doesn't like tofu" cleaned his plate. Any leftovers were loaded up and taken back to their apartment for "breakfast". Probably my favorite part of the entire meal was the spacing. Most restaurants pack in as many tables in hopes of getting more butts in chairs. For whatever reason there was at least 6 feet between every table. You truly felt as if you and your dinner mates were privately dining. I can't speak to the authenticity of the meal as I have never travelled to India. But, I guarantee this is the closest to Mumbai I've ever been.
