A pharmacy 10 miles away recommended this little cafe. Will travel for food! Right off the bat, I noticed besides us, no one wore a mask walking into or out of the restaurant nor while walking around. All the waitstaff did, small-town, however. This is a small town diner. You don't get QR codes for menus. It literally felt like when people saw our masks they thought..."sheeple". LOL The cafe was clean and well-lit. There was a single waitress and she moved. The service was timely and friendly. As for the food. My wife and I got Denver skillets, only she had all the good parts removed. What the food lacked in differentiating taste made up for in quantity. Hash browns mixed with peppers, onions, ham, cheese ( a little light on the cheese), and eggs, no seasoning. It was good, but nothing that made me think this is amazing. But oh boy was it filling. Absolutely solid food. No complaints whatsoever. And they served Diet Mt Dew which is a huge plus in my book. To summarize, if I was traveling through Belle Plaine, I'd definitely stop in again. Would I drive all the way from Cedar Rapids to eat there? No. read more

Stopped in for lunch (1-2pm) on Thursday with my folks. We were very pleased with the service, cleanliness and atmosphere! They serve Pepsi products, that's a plus with us. The menu choices are EXCELLENT! My mom is doing KETO and was very pleased with her options! She ordered the house chicken, grilled breasts, with peppers, onions and melted cheese. She also had her choice of two sides. It was no problem when she asked for two lettuce salads as her sides. Our server even combined them into one bowl instead of serving in separate bowls and made sure to give her plenty salad dressing. My dad and I both had the four piece broasted chicken dark meat with two sides. Salad for both of us too. Dad's salad was fine, unfortunately mine had the texture of a salad leftover from the night before. It was edible and I didn't complain because there are people starving all over the world. Dad ordered fries, they are crinkle cut and I thought they were ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. Dad likes his fries really done and crunchy, almost burnt, but he still ate most of his fries. I ordered hash browns and was not disappointed! Shredded, moist and slightly crunchy pieces! YUM I love when they are cooked on a well used, seasoned surface! We all brought leftovers home. The prices are very reasonable, they also had daily specials written on a board that looked appealing! There's also a cooler with shelves of what looks like homemade pies! If I had been able to finish my chicken I would have had a hard time trying to decide on which pie to have! We will go back if we are in the area again. Another small town greasy spoon. Clean dining area, moderately priced meals. Most thing seem to be $8.00 or under. Tried their broasted chicken. Meat was tender and juicy, as for the skin, crispy, but a bit on the light side. I personally prefer a good thick crunch crust. But this wasn't half bad. Pretty decent really. A good change of pace. It's not worth driving well out of your way for, but if you're just out on a lazy weekend drive, stop on by and support a small town business. read more

Group of six met here at eleven for a meal. Two breakfasts of omelet and country platter with toast were done to perfection. Tenderloin, shrimp, chicken fried steak were also great. Attentive wait staff and food came out quickly. The front dining room filled with noon regulars. Our family used to come here 50 years ago for a wonderful Sunday buffet. Good memories and though there have been different owners through the years, still a good dining spot. read more

Stopped in for brunch at this cozy little cafe. The menu has lots of comfort food to choose from... and they serve breakfast all day! I had a skillet with eggs on top and the hubs had a turkey melt sandwich. His meal came with homemade chicken and rice soup and it was yummy. I'm looking forward to visiting here again! read more

We were in the area today and decided to stop for an early lunch. The food was very good but the service was beyond anything you will find in a larger city. The waitress greeted us with a friendly greeting and a smile. She brought menus and water then went for coffee while we were deciding. She looked at you when she was talking to you and made you feel like she cared. The coffee never got empty and she came by several times to make sure we didn't need anything and everything was okay. Legit waste of time. Yesterday i called and asked the lady who picked up if i can order curb side and I ordered .. Went to pick up my order and it was wrong called and asked where the rest was and susan decided not to repeat the order or listen to the spellin of my name and said 15 min and hung up. So to my suprise. The manager calls back n offers to give me a discount and my order. So we go back drive another 20. From ledora to bell plain.get our food brought to us and and i pulled out the money and got told that it was already taken care off. So we drive off and 10 min in i get a call from Kristen the manager saying they gave us the wrong order and we needed to bring it back and tht instead they would just give us a gift card?... Well ok I guess i didnt wanna eat anyway ? Like what so i decide i dont want the gift card il just give the. Food back EVEN SAID THANK YOU...aand walked out . but SUPRISE KRISTEN. Felt the need to come to the parking lot and tell me that I can never order again? Well no problem cuz I cant get my food anyway. We had stopped for lunch about 3 months ago and found it to be well worth it. The meals did seem homemade and priced very reasonably. Well, we stopped again today for lunch and believe it was even better. The homemade soups are just wonderful. Service is quick, efficient and they don't forget you. Some upholstery needs attention but all the staff make you feel important as well as leave you satiated. We shall return. read more

The place is always busy, first clue. The best fried fish ever on Fridays. Walleye, hand breaded, all you can eat $10. Hand breaded chicken tenders are the best as well. Home made food, good food, generous portions at reasonable prices. Great service. Owners work there and personally train the waitresses. Great place to eat!!! read more
