This is our favorite spot to stop on our trips to Iowa city. It's the perfect distance from Dubuque and we love the farmhouse aesthetic.

Their espresso isn't the best I've had but it wasn't horrible by any means. They do have a lot of flavor options which I love to see in a coffee shop. We sat down to eat, service was quick and food reminded me of home. Their chicken salad is so good! read more

Awesome welcoming coffee shop on a corner with a huge window. Walk in and a round table is full of elderly women having coffee. Read the menu and asked if any drink can come cold. The young girl said yep we can do that. Asked if they had milk alternatives and she told me yes! Ordered a latte over ice with vanilla. She than was trying to tell a girl how to start it. An elderly women came up to pay for coffee. The lady asked who the other young lady was she said it was her second day! Received my coffee and asked for no straw because I bring my own, the new girl said oh that's cool. Drink was made fast and was very flavorful. Will stop again soon! read more

This is right next to my office and it's great. I can have a salmon salad or half a soup and sandwich it's properly portioned and made of healthy ingredients. And it tastes wonderful. If you want to up the class, just a bit, nothing pretentious, in small town Monticello this is the place. Like honestly I feel great that I get a cafe that's this good in Monticello, it's awesome and I hope the owners don't retire before I do. read more

This place is great. It's very clean and the atmosphere is nice. I'm from out out of town, and the people here (employees and the locals) are very friendly and welcoming. They make a great caramel macchiato here, and the sandwich and soup I had was delicious. I'll definitely be back. read more

As artists, we make a lot of trips out of town and try to plan a stop mid-morning at a local coffee shop to take a break. My husband found this one on our way to Des Moines. I always order a large latte with whole milk. They had only skim milk. Since my mouth was ready for a latte, I ordered it anyway. It was awful. After a few swallows, I couldn't stomach it anymore and threw it away. That will not be a place where we stop in the future. read more

If you're a Starbucks lover but your wallet isn't, Java Jones is the place for you! They also have awesome pastries made locally & a made-to-order lunch menu. I highly recommend the panini. read more
