First, this is top shelf BBQ. The brisket, the tri-tip = legit. They have a quirky, fun beer bar thing. I had a great time.

The food was okay, needed a little more spices, was lacking in authentic Mexican food taste. I…read morehave had the salsa before as you can get it at the market in Cedar Rapids. This was different, missing something, could not put my finger on it. The enchiladas were good, I liked the sauce on them. The rice was very bland, the beans were good. The guacamole was good but It has chunks of avacado, I personally like mine more smooth. The service was good, they were very helpful and attentive. The ambiance was overly tacky and fake looking. Overall for the lack of options in town it was an acceptable option.

Your choices are limited if you want Mexican food in Vinton. If you are hungry sure you can go…read morehere. Will you starve? No. Is it wonderful food, I wouldn't say that. It was mediocre. The free chips and salsa was my first disappointment. The chips appear to have been homemade because they had grill marks and tasted flame broiled. I am not a fan of that taste in my chips but it grew on me and was tolerable. The salsa was on the sweeter side, again not my thing but others may like that. I ordered the steak Quesadilla. It was good, none of the steak was grisly and it had a nice flavor and the portion, was good. I believe it was 3 - 10 inch tortillas folded in half. Service was good, between a younger gal and an older lady both taking turns to assist us. We hardly had to wait for anything. The establishment was clean and roomy, well lit and decorated nicely as you would expect in a Mexican restaurant. No complaints there. Will I come back probably but only because I visit Vinton occasionally and may want to stay for dinner.

A no-frills food truck in a weird, but easy to find location. They have a handful of tables and…read morechairs on the lawn in front. Service was friendly and very quick. Prices are reasonable. The sandwich portions are generous and come with a small side portion and sliced pickles. The pulled pork comes without sauce and when we went, they only had spicy and blackberry sauce. As far as flavor, we agreed the pork was kinda dry but okay. I had the blackberry sauce, which I found runny and not so flavorful. My boyfriend had the spicy and said it was good, but the kick lingered in his mouth. My coleslaw was weak too. Overall, the location is perfect for this kind of meal. It's a reasonable price for what you get - sandwich, side, and drink. Probably great for local lunches, but we wouldn't go out of our way.

Chubbs BBQ is a fairly new food truck in the Marion area and overall I must say I'm impressed…read more They are quick, well priced and consistent. The meat has a great smokey flavor and is very tender. The baked beans have quickly become a favorite and the coleslaw is a close second. They offer huge sandwiches which include 6 oz. meat, one side and a drink for $7.50 or larger platters for around $11. They never keep me waiting long and they have many BBQ sauces to choose from including some interesting ones such as cherry habanero and blackberry. They are usually located around the corner of 7th Ave. and 44th St. in Marion behind Arnold's motor supply. So if you find yourself in the area around lunchtime it's definitely worth the stop!
