My wife brought it back in there today asking for a refund or replacement. She got a frustrating response: "What are we supposed to do with it? We can't resell a defective product. It's used! " The employee checked with a peer and no way was the consensus. We were left thinking: Oh yeah right, we love coming all the way in to return defective products. It is sooooo fun...not! Jeeepers Creepers! My wife took it home and weighed the product and it was still 95% of weight on the tube. I have updated the review from a 1 star to a 3. We sent an email in via their web site to explain our experience. Within a day we got an email response and another came a couple of days later to appologize for the frustation. The email response was fantastic and they seem quite sincere about being appologetic for our experience. We would give the head office's response a 5 star. As an organization, Opus is great. They are sending us a replacement tube in the mail. Doesn't cover the time and fuel for the round trip (10+ km) but this isn't going to break the bank for us. The 3 star is for the original experience. Not fun having to spend all this time to get a new tube of paint replaced. We will likely try to frequent a different Opus location whenever possible.

They said they would hold our items for three months and if not collected, they would throw them out. After not recieving any type of email for two months, my boyfriend drove all the way from abbotsford to this shop to pick up the art that we had created as he wanted to surpise me with it. Once he went into the shop, he dicovered that our art was not there anymore, they had lost it or thrown it out. This is so sad as they were a pretty expensive price as well i would say so. I am so dissapointed as this was something very special for us and it has been completely ruined. So i would reccomend you go to a more professional place where they dont throw away your things and actually email you when your art is ready. I would give this a 0 star review if i could.

I popped in yesterday to grab a new tube of white paint and noticed cans of specialty enamel paint for hand-lettering signs... Coincidentally I have an outdoor sign for a store just waiting to be painted, and after the owner told me the benefits of using that paint rather than plain jane acrylic i was sold! I'm so happy that i can provide one of my clients with better quality work thanks to the advice I got at Rath! Basically one of my favorite things about the place is the staff! If i have a question about anything, i'm always way more confident asking the super friendly, very knowledgeable owner about something than i am any of hired guns at Opus and DeSerres. The only thing: Don't come in here if you're looking for scrap booking supplies, tubes of glitter, jewelery making kits (etc etc!). Rath sells art supplies, plain and simple, so if your creativity falls into the crafting end of the spectrum you're best off going to DeSerres.
