Wow, wow, wow. What a great place. A couple and their kids, another couple and is all showed up working 3 minutes. The only waitress on site did a great job of taking care of all of us quickly. The food came out quickly and was good. The boy with the family accidentally spilled his drink while the waitress was taking our order. She took it in stride nicely and left everyone feeling happy. Went in and ate dinner on Monday, PM, my food was cold , I told the waitress, she said there was nothing she could do, even if she took it to the kitchen it would come back cold. They were understaffed and guests were paying the price. What a wonderful find! Good eating, happy waitstaff, well run restaurant. The waitstaff apologized for our food coming out slowly but I thought it took as long as freshly cooked food should take. There were great choices on the menu, what one would expect in a diner from now or from 40 years ago. The only reason that I cannot give it all five stars was the dessert, whose crust was what I can only describe as too thick, chewy. (The contents of the cherry pie was fine.) While on a fishing trip we went to this establishment for breakfast and supper. Came here for breakfast since they are open for breakfast at 5 am. They have the usual fare for breakfast and our party ordered a variety of dishes. I ordered the breakfast sausage burrito and I highly recommend it. The cheese was melted just right , the ratio of sausage to eggs was excellent. They also toasted the burrito and it added a nice crunch to the burrito. Our server was very attentive even though she was fairly busy since she was the only one here with 6 other tables. Their wasn't much choices to go for supper at 6 in a small community is why we landed here for supper and was I ever surprise. I thought breakfast was excellent but supper was SPECTACULAR. We ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, chicken fried steak and hamburger steak with onions. I ordered my sandwich with potato wedges and it had a light breading with it. The sweet and sour coleslaw had the right amount of sweetness and the cabbage was nice and crunchy. According to my friend the fried okra that he had was the best he had in a long time. Excellent home style cooking! My wife and I enjoyed our lunch. The courteous wait staff, the cooks that came to our table to make sure everything tasted good (a bit slow on customers when we had our lunch around 3pm?), and the ambience with stuffed animals hanging everywhere gave the meal a touch of "been stuck in the backwoods to long"? It was great! I would highly recommend folks stopping by this place for a meal even if it is off the main highway a mile or 2. Went here for my birthday and was sooo disappointed. The sign outside is advertising for an experienced cook. That was the fist warning to move on. I asked for eggs over medium and whites not runny. The server understood my concern. Offering hash browns for .99 and I accepted the offer. Here is what I was served: Pancakes were great. Bacon under cooked. Eggs that were so runny they saturated my pancakes and ruined half of them. Mashed potatoes with catchup on the side. Sent them back to be cooked properly and they returned looking worse than the first serving. Water needs to be filtered. I wish them luck on finding a experienced cook that wasn't trained by Denny's. read more

This was a very good'ol family town restaurant. The food is down home cook'n and I was down with that. If you like pulled pork sandwiches, you will love this place. The prices were very good and the food fantastic. Only downers were: the size was very small, so it's a strange single, open room where you sit real close to the people next to you(not that big of a deal to me) and the restroom was unisex, and could use a little love but isn't falling apart or anything. My 12 year old found a hair in his food. Instead of bringing him different food to finish eating (about half his meal) our waitress took off with the rest of his food (rightfully so)but doesn't say a word! No OMG I'M SORRY, NOTHING! Returns a few minutes later with our check, and tells us they comped his meal. Didn't try to get the growing boy more food or anything. My Mom and I enjoyed a relaxing weekend at Lake Texoma and has a wonderful home style breakfast with these nice folks. Western omelets with hashbrowns,, biscuits & gravy or toast. The coffee was very good with bottomless cups. It was clean, the service was prompt and the staff provided some friendly small town hospitality. We called in an order 45 minutes before their closing time and the lady that took our order was so obviously annoyed and very rude. i called once just to make sure they had fish and she hung up one me so my husband called back. Well once we were done placing our order she said we close in 30 minutes so if you could be here by then that would be great. So obviously being sarcastic. Look I know how frustrating it is to get an order before closing time but you are open til 8 for a reason. We are not dining in so you won't have to clean up after we leave so I really don't see the issue. We tried to eat elsewhere before deciding on here but we were turned away because they weren't doing to go orders anymore, they were saving the food for the dine in customers.
