    Reuben with sweet pickles
    Susan C.

For a small-town establishment with only 2 maybe 3 traditional "sit down" restaurants, Country Kitchen seemed average: old yet clean with friendly service and acceptable food. Two of us ordered Reuben sandwiches. They came with sweet pickles and a small ramekin of thousand island dressing, if requested. Nothing to "write mom" about but still tasty with dark rye, melted cheese and a few slices of corned beef with sauerkraut. Another ordered frog legs (quite cosmopolitan for a country eatery), and the diner said they were chewy, though the deep-fried batter and side of butter heightened the taste a bit. The legs came with a hot baked potato and a cold side salad with iceberg lettuce, two bites of radishes, a slice of tomato and salad dressing of choice. The sandwiches, less than $10, and the frog legs, about $16. Not bad for this wee rural city of about 3,600.

For a small town the food was good we had pancakes, spaghetti, pecan pancakes, mac and cheese, burger and turkey club. The lemon soup was not to my liking strange flavor. The turkey club was good like cut turkey not lunch meat the bacon was great. My son loved the pancakes. The kids didn't like the mac and cheese it was homemade and think and flour tasting. Burger was good . The bread for the soup was amazing like crazy good. The spaghetti sauce had nice flavor. Will go again. Was to full to have pie. I want to try that. If you are passing through it's a good bet to eat at

I've gone here all my life, and the food has always been pretty good. My favorite thing though is their peanut butter pie, which I haven't had in yearrrsssss. My friend and I stopped by the other night and the remodeling looks nice, but alas, no peanut butter pie. :( 4 stars though because the waitress was super nice and checked everywhere for it, we felt bad too for leaving but we really really wanted the peanut butter pie, lol. Maybe when I'm back in 6 months I'll get my pie!

Great place to eat! Took my son for breakfast, and was pleasantly surprised! Best pancakes I have had in a while! I got the Sunrise, Blueberry pancakes, he got the chocolate chip pancakes with strawberries, and ice cream to the side! If you are in the area, so in so good!

Good country cooking. Nice little mom and pop shop. For the most part the food was decent and service was great

They did change some things on the menu since we moved here last August. They took away their amazing, huge cinnamon roll and replaced it with a very dry one. My daughter would get the cinnamon roll every single time she came in. But then when they came out with the new one she passed. Just didn't have enough icing on it, and it was dry around the edges. The other thing that I was sad about is that they went with plain old white coffee cups with their name on them. It seems so corporate to me. They stood out with their colorful, huge mugs for coffee!! My daughter and I absolutely adore that. It made them stand out a bit . Their food is pretty good. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The only other tip I would recommend would be when you guys have specials listed on your specialty menu to make sure you don't run out of anything. Last time I was there, you ran out of the banana bread latte and that was pretty disappointing. And please bring your cinnamon rolls back lol!!

Let me tell you the coffee is a star so many times I'll go into a place and I don't like the coffee. here it is delicious. It reminds me of a place back home that we used to go to before they closed. So as far as checkboxes go, I've been checking a lot of them here they have Texas toast. They have homemade potatoes not that frozen store-bought garbage they have friendly weight staff and a lot of regulars. That's a good sign when you're looking at a breakfast spot. We have it for a skillet with the usual sausage, bacon, onions, homemade potatoes, etc. I also ordered Texas toast and the sausage gravy on the side. The food came within 10 minutes. It was piping hard and religious. We split it so they had it into separate plates, which was a very nice touch as I've gotten older. I appetite is not what it used to be so it's plenty of food to share with my wife . It came with three eggs, which was very generous. I ordered over medium and they came out. Perfect I ordered potatoes crispy and that's how they came out. Perfect. Everything was delicious. I don't normally get five stars on reviews, but they've earned it. This is a great place I just wish they were closer. It's about a 25 minute drive but it's well worth the drive Not a bad drive either. It's a cute little spot in the coffee is just delicious. I'm excited to try it for lunch as the cook Dimitri is Greek. I wonder if he makes any Greek specialties like moussaka . So let's recap delicious Kona, coffee a variety of creamers and jellies on the table red gold ketchup, and Cholula hot sauce. Prices are inexpensive. Food is delicious. Service is impeccable five stars.
