We stopped into Steve's Grill on our roadtrip back home. We came for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The prices were very reasonable and the portions were huge. I ordered a single strawberry pancake and still ended up with leftovers. We also ordered the steak & eggs and biscuits & gravy. Both were very delicious. The gravy was very creamy and perfect to dip our steak in. Service was great. It was pretty crowded but the noise level was low. The food was amazing. Service was fast. I was very pleased! Very good food and large portions. The kids love this place and they really have a wide selection on the menu which is impressive for a smaller mom and pop place. Cozy atmosphere and you really can't ask for better prices. Service is fast and friendly. We have eaten here several times and never have had a problem other than not being able to finish all of our food because we were so full. Definitely would recommend...now I'm kind of hungry just thinking about it. Oh and they have great breakfast too! read more

We stop by Steve's grill almost every time we come up to Visit in DeMotte. Food is decent. My favorite meal I've had here is probably the Patty Melt, and their fries are good. Most recently I did the soup and salad combo. I got lemon rice soup, it was good but it was sort of bland and watered down. Service wasn't the best, but I think it could easily be improved greatly. Our order was messed up multiple times. We were sitting at a table near the counter and a lot of the workers were just standing around talking instead of checking on tables. Improving customer service would greatly improve the experience at this joint! read more

Been eating here for several years and the food is fine. Today, November 2022, got charged a different price than the menu stated. Assistant manager argued that prices "went up" and asked if we were paying the larger amount. We said we'd pay menu price, more arguing, she refused our money and said we weren't welcome back. read more

We moved here about 6 months ago. We go to Steve's Grill at least once a week (neither of us like to cook). I tend to order the same thing over, but my husband likes to try different things. I think most everything we have had has been very good. The portions are always too big for me but my husband manages to finish his. Most of the waiters and waitresses are very good. They will continue to get our business for the long term! read more

I so badly want to give this place 5 stars. The service was excellent!! Our waitress was attentive and super sweet, and the host was friendly and made sure our toddler had enough crayons and coloring pages to keep her happy. However, the food was...disappointing. (The fries being an exception. They were amazing!) My husband's steak was over cooked, my gyro plate only had a few thin, sad looking strips of mutton, and my daughter's mac and cheese tasted strange. Kind of plasticy. Looking at the menu I had high hopes for our meal and was let down. We just moved to the area, and it is a culture shock coming from central FL! We had a hard time finding someplace within 20 miles that was not a bar to have dinner at. We found Steve's in De Motte, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The first visit, we both had steak, a T-bone and a strip. The service was great, my husband had the dinner salad, which was fresh and plentiful. I had the vegetable soup. It was good, full of veggies. Could have used a little seasoning. The steaks were ordered medium rare. They came well done. Not too tasty, I am afraid. Overall, it was ok. A week later, we came for lunch, and boy, it was terrific! 3 of us had the Manhattans, one beef, one turkey and one pork. They were delicious! My mother in law had the chili, and the other 3 had the salad, again delicious. My husband had the cheeseburger, which was huge. We all left full and delighted! We definitely will be back! read more

Stopped by Steve's Grill a few times over a weeklong stay in DeMotte. Food was good. No complaints at all. But the service... Horrible. The waitresses don't seem to know the menu and the manager on duty (Paige) is condescending and rude. A bit too much responsibility for her age possibly. A 1-Star review might seem too low for a restaurant with good food, but the service was REALLY that bad. A real shame, as I was really hoping to leave a positive review. read more

I'm giving Steve's Grill 5-stars...in the "Local Diner" Genre. Doesn't get much better than this... Our family has eaten here about 6 times...and had a great meal every time. No complaints at all. Waitstaff is friendly and very accommodating. Very clean with nicely decorated family-diner type of decorating. Comfortable chairs and booths. They also have a few flat-screen TV's in the corners and center of the restaurant...for those of us that need the TV on to eat... Steve's Grill has a great menu... A lot of variety. They advertise on their website that they feature American and Greek Cuisine. Each day they have the daily-special...really good...and reasonable too. My brother-in-law was really tickled to find that they had "Manhattan" style...open-face sandwiches on the menu. Turkey, roast-beef...etc, on top of bread with gravy and mashed-potatoes....really good. HUGE PORTIONS.... The mashed potatoes are good...even tho, they're from a box... ;) Also...their french-fries are the BEST...!!!!! The country-fried steak...is fork-tender...very tasty, as was the liver & onions. This place is alright, good food if sticking with normal lunch or breakfast food. Fries are great, nice and crispy. Service when I've been there many times has been fair. Not many choices in this town but decent enough food. Many older ppl come here, not to say I don't like them but when you have ALOT visiting a restaurant often, you can tell that the food isn't going to blow you away. After spending the afternoon geocaching we decided it was time to grab something to eat. We found ourselves in Demotte & checked on Yelp for a good place to eat. Spotted this local place which had good reviews & thought why not give it a try, cause that's the way we are. When we walked in the servers immediately started making us feel at home by joking with us. That told me right there that if the food was as good as the help then we had a winner. I had AYCE whitefish, fries, peas, ham & beans soup, instead of salad. The Mrs. had Smokey Mtn. Chicken, baked potato, peas & salad. The plates or should I say platters the food was on was completely covered in food & there were 3 huge rolls with honey butter. Yep, the food was just as good as the servers. Guess I could say Winner Winner Chicken Dinner! Way more food than we could eat & yet the price was extremely fair. If you're in the area & hungry look 'em up & stop in. read more

A nice little diner in the heart of Demotte. Been there 3 times over the past couple of years for dinner and each time the food was wonderful and high quality. The white fish on Fridays and Mondays is the tops...great crispy french fries, great homemade dishes and attentive service. Prices are very fair for the quality of the food. read more
